Amanda
Appearing back in the bathroom stall, Matthew thankfully found the bathroom to be empty. Exiting the stall, Matthew washed his hands and walked out.
Even if he didn't use the bathroom, he still needed to wash his hands. Eva didn't know what he did inside, but all she could assume was that he had to pee badly. So, if Matthew walked out with unwashed hands, she would either think he was disgusting or that he didn't use the bathroom at all. Either one wasn't something he wanted.
Anyway, it was a simple ten-second act that didn't hurt him at all. So why not do it?
Back in the coffee shop, Matthew found Eva on her phone, slightly smiling at her screen.
Curious about what made her look happy, Matthew sat back down in his chair and asked, "What are you looking at that makes you so happy?"
"Oh, you're back! I wasn't looking at anything really cool, just this page about cats that I really like. Look!" Eva spoke as she turned her phone around.
And it was just as she said. Her phone was filled with a social media feed of various cats.
Losing interest completely, Matthew went back to where their conversation had left off before.
"Yeah, Blue Wing sent me an internship offer. I plan to move out in a day or two. I just have to find a seller for the properties I own." Matthew said.
"Have you bought your ticket yet? We can go the same day. Moving so far out is bound to have some mishaps. We could have each other's backs when we get there." Eva spoke out excitedly.
'Brat, if you blow this, I'll make you regret it!' Senior Wudi angrily shouted from inside his head.
Ignoring the cries from the old man, Matthew replied, "No, I haven't, but I plan to buy them for after tomorrow. I'll message you as soon as I do. Having an extra hand during the move could be helpful."
"Great! So you promise to message me, right?" Eva asked as her eyes glistened with anticipation.
Afraid of the gleam in her eyes, Matthew nodded.
"Yes, don't worry. I'll make sure to keep in contact." Matthew answered seriously. Even if he wanted to lose contact with her, Senior Wudi wouldn't let him.
The two continued to talk about their future move until Eva had to leave for work. Since she was still unaware of the future, Eva still thought that her job was something necessary for her future.
And Matthew let her live that lie. Even if he wanted her Divine Nine Yin Meridians for himself, telling her about the future would most likely do more harm than good now. Besides, he planned to stay with her when the Spiritual Qi rejuvenated, so he would be able to explain it to her then.
After seeing her off, Matthew went back to his apartment to change into something more professional. As he said during his conversation with Eva, he needed to sell his three properties before he moved. They would go underwater in 6 months, so having them around wouldn't do anything but lose him money.
So, after presenting himself better with a suit, Matthew planned to go to his real estate agent and sell his properties. Even if he had to sell the properties fast and was at risk of getting scammed for them, Matthew didn't care too much. The only reason he needed this money was to help start building his base in the Midwest.
Though he didn't plan to stay on Earth for too long, there were money opportunities on this desolate planet that would help him cultivate them in the future, so having a base to come back to would be more convenient.
Changing into a fashionable blue suit, Matthew was about to fix up his hair, but suddenly, a person appeared from thin air.
Reactively, Matthew threw a punch at the unknown assailant, but thankfully, before it could land, he saw the culprit's face.
"John, what the hell? Why didn't I warn you before not to suddenly manifest to my left?" Matthew angrily berated. He had almost attacked John on reflex. Though it might've not killed him, the punch Matthew had to pull back would have definitely broken a rib or two.
Scratching his head, John sheepishly replied, "I wanted to scare you. But I now know that you shouldn't scare someone as strong as you."
After asking Senior Wudi to teleport him to the outside world without a warning, John thought he could get his revenge, as Matthew would also scare him. However, seeing Matthew almost punch a hole in his torso made John change his mind.
"As long as you know. But what did you come out here for? Isn't being inside with Senior Wudi more beneficial than staying out here?" Matthew asked as he started to fix his hair.
"Right! Joanne just remembered that you wanted to see those cultivation novels she reads about. So after I lost the rock, paper, scissors game, I had to come out and show you." John answered as he went to get his sister's laptop.
Curious, Matthew ignored his half-done hair and followed his brother.
"Joanne said that the one we should look for is called Battle throughout the Ages. Apparently, it reminded her of you and Master." John spoke as he typed in the name.
Matthew stood behind John as he found the novel, but after he saw the almost 2 thousand chapters, he quickly closed the laptop.
"John, I don't have that time. If anything, just take the laptop inside and show it to Senior Wudi. He'll be able to get to the bottom of it faster than I can." Matthew spoke as he pushed the laptop into his brother's hands.
Then he sent John into the Nine-Ringed Divine Throne before he could react.
2000 chapters was a lot. And even with his reading speed, it would take a minimum of almost two days. And that was if he spent the entire time reading without any breaks.
However, Matthew didn't even have a day to spare. Let alone two. He had less than 7 days to prepare for when the seal would be punctured, and before that happened, not only did he have to move across the US, but he also had to sell three houses and avenge his siblings.
Spending two days reading something that could possibly be a waste of time wasn't worth the risk. So he passed it on to Senior Wudi, who not only could read much faster but was also idle for the most part.
After pushing the responsibility away from himself, Matthew went back to styling his hair in the bathroom.
But sadly, since his hair was shorter than what he was used to, he wasn't able to do much with it. Settling for a simple, messy look, Matthew left satisfied.
After locking himself up behind himself, Matthew went back to his car and drove off to meet his real estate agent.
Since he had inherited the properties at a younger age than most, Matthew knew nothing about managing them. So, to help make sure the pieces of land didn't go belly up, he used a bit of his parents' life insurance money and hired an agent to help manage them.
The agent was named Amanda and was someone on whom Matthew had a slight crush. And though those feelings had faded long ago, Matthew still wanted to look nice for their last meeting. Because after moving and the Spiritual Qi rejuvenation, they would most likely never meet again.
Driving to Amanda's agency didn't take long, and after parking in the lot, Matthew walked in.
"Oh my god, Matthew, you look even more handsome than before! Which lotions are you using?" As soon as Matthew entered, an energetic and lively voice shouted in his direction.
Glancing in the sound's direction, he found Amanda, his agent, almost charging at him with curious eyes.
Grabbing her before she could collide with him, Matthew smiled at her.
Amanda was a few years older than Matthew at 26, but, as she put it, she was eternally young. However, true to her words, even though she was climbing in years, her looks matched her words well, as she only looked 23.
Like Matthew, Amanda also had a head full of blonde hair, but instead of his green eyes, hers were a light brown hue. Her face was clear, bright, and cheerful, matching her personality. And her hourglass figure, which seemingly wanted to break free from her business suit, only served as icing on an already amazing cake.
"Good afternoon to you two, Amanda. I see you're still lively." Matthew said as he tried to dodge her handsy fingers.
"What are you implying? That I shouldn't be like this at my age? Or that I'm old?" Amanda retorted as she continued to try to touch his face.
"Maybe. Maybe not. You'll never know." Matthew spoke with a smile as he grabbed her hand.
"Matthew, what's with you today? You're actually playing the role of a man today! Are you going to sweep me off my feet next? Or steal my first kiss?" Amanda spoke excitedly as she felt her heart racing.
But sadly, her romanticism wasn't met with a nice reaction, as before, she could have her dreams played out. She felt her world shift.
"Neither. I'm here to sell my properties. Get up, you romance nerd." Matthew spoke emotionlessly as he tripped the woman.
This was why he had a slight crush on her. For some reason, Amanda loved to flirt and tease him endlessly. And the emotionally dense 23-year-old Matthew didn't know how to deal with her advances. So, his being shy around her only made the romantic within Amanda come out even more.
"Dammit, you brute! I thought you had finally grown a pair- Wait! You said you're selling your properties?!" Amanda shouted as she got back up from the ground.
At first, she was going to complain until Matthew would help her up, but after hearing that he wanted to sell the properties, Amanda stood up as fast as her body could let her.
"Yes, I am. And you, my dear agent, are going to help me go through this process." Matthew spoke as he poured himself a cup of water.
"Wait, why is it because of me?" Amanda couldn't understand why Matthew wanted to sell his three properties.
Not only were they all beautiful homes, but their location was also extremely good. Selling them served no advantage.
Giving the woman an odd look, Matthew spoke, "No, I am moving. Even if I didn't like you selling, my properties seemed like a drastic move."

There is now a discord for this novel. However, be warned. It is rather bare bones. I suck at Discord. The link is in the synopsis.
