Arriving in Colorado
Of course, this was a lie, but it was something that could get Amanda off his back for the time being. However, even after hearing his confession, Amanda still kept her smile. Almost as if she didn't care about the love between the two.
"Mat, I didn't think you liked girls like Eva. What about her do you like?" Amanda curiously asked.
While she believed that Matthew wasn't lying, she also didn't think he liked Eva as much as the girl did. So, so as to fish out more information, she started asking various related questions. But sadly, Matthew didn't take the bait and turned a deaf ear to her by closing his eyes and going to sleep.
'I don't believe I can't make you fall for me!' Amanda grunted as she, too, went to sleep.
The 7 a.m. wake-up didn't give her nearly enough energy to go through a day. And she desperately needed a nap.
Eva, a few seats behind, finally looked away from the two. Sitting in between the two kids, Eva desperately tried to keep them calm and not fight.
But due to wanting to make sure Matthew didn't get seduced by her 'rival,' she was constantly looking over in their direction. And after some poor attempts at lip reading and scattered words she managed to pick up, Eva could guess that Matthew stayed safe.
However, before she could sigh in relief, a stray right hook hit her in the chin. Feeling an immense amount of pain, Eva wanted to cry.
"Dammit, you two! Stop fighting. I will not be a nanny!" Eva shouted as tears glistened in her eyes.
'That punch hurt so much! What the hell is Matthew feeding these kids?!' Eva almost started crying.
Joanne, the culprit, looked apologetic to Eva, but after apologizing and trying to calm her down, Joanne tossed another hook at John, who dropped his focus, knocking the boy out cold.
"Idiot! How can you lose focus at such a vital moment!" Joanne insulted the unconscious boy as she went over to John's pockets and took her winnings.
'I want to leave! Matthew, what are you teaching these kids!' Eva, seeing the MMA fight happening around her, was terrified.
Not only did a 12-year-old girl punch like a man, but she even KO'ed her brother and robbed him in broad daylight!
"Eva, don't worry. We won't hurt you. Matthew told us that we should only use our strength against enemies or each other. And since you're neither, you're safe." Joanne spoke after seeing Eva's fear-filled eyes.
Sadly, her words were taken in a bad way and only served to worsen the situation.
'Enemies! What the hell is Matthew brainwashing them with!'
Seeing that her words didn't work, Joanne could only wryly smile. After making sure John was still unconscious, she closed her eyes and slept.
And with three sleeping, one unconscious, and the last questioning reality, the group of five set off for Colorado.
The flight, thankfully, went smoothly and without hiccups.
However, on a side note, John had woken up furious and demanded to fight Joanne again, but his rage had also awakened the nearby Matthew, leading John to get knocked unconscious again.
But this time, thanks to Matthew's precision, John didn't wake up until they landed.
John, the youngest of three siblings, had the highest affinity with the Creation Dao, which was the zenith of Soul Cultivation. Because of that, John also had the lowest affinity for Body Refinement, making him innately weaker than others.
Joanne was the polar opposite, with World Dao being the zenith of Body Refinement, making her have little talent for Soul Cultivation. Giving her a stronger physical body while being much less intellectually gifted than John.
Meanwhile, Matthew's Chaos Dao was the most well-rounded of the three, giving him an overall advantage over the siblings.
While Chaos Dao was the zenith of Qi Cultivation, Spiritual Qi could also be used for the other two cultivation paths, albeit at a slower pace than using Vital Energy or Soul Qi.
From the words of Senior Wudi, if it were based on 100 points per cultivation path, John would have 90, 40, and 100 for Qi Body and Soul Cultivation, respectively. Joanne would have 90, 100, and 40, while Matthew would have 100, 75, and 75.
After hearing this, Matthew raised the argument that if he had that level, then why was it so different from what happened in his previous life?
However, Senior Wudi had a very simple answer to his doubts. Matthew was lied to.
If anything, Senior Wudi was surprised that they told Matthew he had a Divine Level Talent. Usually, they would tell cultivators from Primeval Worlds that they were talentless and shoo them away.
John, waking up again, wanted to shout in anger, but after seeing that both Matthew and Eva were still sleeping, he held back. He was scared of waking up Matthew and Eva, who were right next to him.
He didn't want to wake her from such a pleasant-looking dream, as the woman was drooling and muttering sweet words that he couldn't quite understand.
However, after looking away from Matthew and Eva, John soon found Joanne asleep and seemingly begging to be pranked. Sadly, before he could do anything, the rough landing woke her up.
Following the plane's complete stop, the group, with the help of Matthew, got all of their carry-ons and left.
Now in Colorado, Matthew, with the unlimited wallet known as Amanda, was able to find a nice rental car that could carry all five of them along with their luggage comfortably.
As the group drove around Denver looking for things to do, Matthew looked at Amanda to his right.
She had her entire attention on her phone, ignoring everything around her.
"So when are you going to call your father? I need the land more than you think." Matthew asked her, taking her focus away from her phone.
"You still haven't made it worth my time, stud," Amanda responded with the same smile.
"We both know this isn't the time for that. I'll do it, but call your father and ask for it now." Matthew sighed.
"Fine~~" Amanda reluctantly agreed.
Going into her purse, Amanda pulled out a phone that he had never seen before. Telling him to stop the car, she then stepped out of the now-parked car and dialed a number.
It seemed that the number Amanda dialed picked up very quickly, as she was already conversing with someone on the other end after only a few seconds.
Even though Amanda was out of earshot for Matthew, who was at the Meridian Opening Realm, he was still able to read her lips fluently.
'Dad, give me that farmland you wanted to use in Springfield.'
'What does it matter what I need it for? Just give it to me.'
'I am a real estate agent with connections. If I didn't use them, what would I be? Stupid?'
'Thanks! You're the best father! Mwah!'
Following the exaggerated goodbye, Amanda came back to the car, jumping merrily like a kid who got what they wanted for Christmas.
"I've got a decent-sized farmland for you. Are you happy?" Amanda proudly spoke after getting back into the car.
"How big is it?" Matthew asked.
In his mind, as long as it was a few hundred acres, Matthew would be more than content.
"It wasn't as big as I wanted, so It's only one." Amanda sighed as she fastened her seatbelt.
"One acre? I thought your father was an oil magnate. Isn't one acre too little for someone of his caliber?" Matthew was slightly displeased, but after remembering it was him asking for the favor, he suppressed it.
"Acre? No, Mat, I didn't mean one acre. I meant 1 square mile." Amanda replied innocently, not knowing how much her words meant.
Floored, Matthew didn't know how to respond for a second.
"Then I thank you, tycoon. A square mile is more than enough."
The scriptures were right. Rich people played on a different playing field. Even the nouns they used were different. Comparison hurts sometimes.
After that little interlude, the group would spend some time exploring Denver for what it was worth. And when night came, they found a nice hotel to spend the night in.
Following a nice rest, the group would spend the next day having fun, but before nighttime came, Matthew would start the long drive to Springfield.
The drive to Springfield wasn't far, but because of their time limit, Matthew drove as fast as he could.
Today was the 26th, and the seal would be punctured on the morning of the 28th. So, including the day they would need to furnish their home, they would only be ready just before the Spiritual Qi rejuvenation.
Thankfully, Eva was only set to start her internship on the 7th of March, allowing her to stay with them until Spiritual Qi returned.
The only thing Matthew was slightly annoyed about was how to start the construction of his base.
After the seal was punctured, Spiritual Qi would invade Earth almost instantly, but the Earth scientists would only detect it just before the month changed to March, and the quarantine would be ordered on the same day, giving Matthew no time to hire construction workers to help him build what he envisioned.
He could do it himself, but with only a pair of hands and little to no experience, Matthew would take too long to build anything substantial. So he could only hope to hire some down-and-out people who desperately needed the money, but that would also make the buildings subpar and nowhere near the standards he would like.
However, with no ideas, Matthew could only put the future at the back of his mind.

There is now a discord for this novel. However, be warned. It is rather bare bones. I suck at Discord. The link is in the synopsis.
