Metal greave made contact with the soft flesh of Arin's cheek and blood instantly splattered on the grey of the dirty snow underneath their feet.

The rest of the knights present looked toward Alix with smirks on their faces knowing that the royal knight deserved what was coming to him. The blonde-haired knight had been through stress after being in charge for weeks in the commander's absence.

On top of his stress, Alix had a soft spot for the apprentice. Perhaps the guilt of where he came from compared to where Henry came from made him feel more justified in his actions. His father made great efforts to make sure the peasants stayed poor so the nobility could continue amounting wealth.

Henry couldn't help his amazed expression at the sight of someone defending him.

He would have thought that it was Sir Trenton that would defend him in the first place, but the shock was evident on his face when Sir Alix pulled his hand back and shook it out.
