Having all eyes in the room on him, Shung Yun shook his head as he said, "this junior have hated the word, hero, after the death of his mom, his dad and his uncle eight[8] years ago. So, this junior has no wish to ever be a hero."
"Are you saying you won't use your requests for the betterment of the clan?" an upper-stage middle aged male Elder said as his aura oozed out of his body.
"This junior isn't so selfish as to hoard all his rewards from the clan," Shung Yun said without bothering about the aura from the upper-stage middle aged male Elder, "but this junior won't give out his rewards for free. A chance to sit on the council table can't equal a chance to request anything from the village."
"I'm sure sitting on the council table is a great honor for someone without a future," the upper-stage middle aged male Elder said as he looked at Shung Yun.
"Elder is right. A body tempering realm descendant without a chance to progress further in his cultivation sitting on the council table of a clan with dantian unsealing realm cultivators is an exceedingly great honor," Shung Yun said as he looked at the upper-stage middle aged male Elder, "but a body tempering realm descendant controlling a full-rank middle-stage fierce that could grow stronger, the council table alone isn't worth much."
"And how do I know the beast is really under your control?" the upper-stage middle aged male Elder asked.
"Ikunga!" Shung Yun shouted with his eyes still locked on the upper-stage middle aged male Elder, "roar!"
"Roar!!" a heavy roar boomed into the ears of the individuals inside the Shung clan ancestral hall, shaking the wooden door in the process.
"Guess that's your answer, Elder," Shung Yun said as he rested his back on his seat.
"Hmph!" the upper-stage middle aged male Elder snorted as an ugly expression lorded over his face.
"What do you want in exchange for your chances to request anything you want from the village?" Clan head Haoran asked Shung Yun.
"Answering now would be too hasty, clan head. I wish to delay listing my requirements to later in the future," Shung Yun said.
"What about the requests? Are you going to withhold it until you've made your choice on what to ask in return?" Clan head Haoran asked.
"Not at all. The two[2] chances of request can be used at any time by the clan," Shung Yun said.
"Two[2] chances? Wasn't your reward three[3] chances?" Clan head Haoran asked Shung Yun.
"Seniors should forgive me. But this junior has already set aside one request for himself," Shung Yun said as he bowed his head, "it's concerning the future of this junior."
"How dare you withhold what will make the clan prosper all to your..,"
"Enough, Elder Huifen," Clan head Haoran said to the upper-stage middle aged male Elder, cutting him off, "he has already done enough in giving up two[2] of his chances to request anything from the village. The clan will remember it."
"Come with me. We're going to meet the village chief," he said to Shung Yun as he stood up from his seat.
Standing up from his seat, Shung Yun walked behind clan head Haoran as he left the ancestral hall.
"Let's go, Ikunga," Shung Yun said as he leaped onto Ikunga's left shoulder.
"Have you heard from your grand uncle?" Clan head Haoran asked Shung Yun as he rode on his horse.
"No," Shung Yun answered as Ikunga walked behind clan head Haoran's horse, "I haven't seen him since the day everything turned bleak in my family."
"I've tried to talk him out of his closed-door cultivation, but he insists on becoming an upper-stage dantian unsealing realm cultivator before coming out," clan head Haoran said as his horse walked through the streets of Byui village.
"Well, someone have to avenge them," Shung Yun said as he traced his index finger along the edge of the arrowhead.
No longer saying anything, clan head Haoran rode silently to the Byui Clan's courtyard with Ikunga trailing behind him.
"Clan head Haoran," the soldiers standing guard in front of the Byui's clan's courtyard cupped their hands as they greeted clan head Haoran.
Nodding his head, clan head Haoran rode into the Byui clan's courtyard with Ikunga behind him.
Stopping his horse at the building beside the ancestral hall of the Byui clan, clan head Haoran came down from it before walking towards the door.
Knock! Knock!!
Kr!
One side of the door was opened as a middle-stage male youth appeared in front of clan head Haoran and Shung Yun.
"Clan head Haoran," the middle-stage male youth cupped his fists as he greeted clan head Haoran.
"I wish to see the chief," Clan head Haoran said.
"Come in," the middle-stage male youth said as he opened the two[2] sides of the door for clan head Haoran and Shung Yun.
Entering the hall behind the entrance door, Shung Yun saw a lower-stage old man with white hair and a white goatee reaching his abdomen.
"He sure looks like a chief," he thought as he walked forward with clan head Haoran.
"Chief Weng," Clan head Haoran cupped his fists as he greeted.
"Chief," Shung Yun bowed as he greeted the village chief.
"Shung Yun, I was expecting you," Chief Weng said as he smiled at Shung Yun, "you too Shung Haoran. You both can take a seat."
"Then you must know the reason for our visit?" Clan head Haoran asked the village chief as he sat cross-legged on the pillow closest to him.
"How many requests did you give to your clan, Shung Yun?" Clan head Haoran asked Shung Yun.
"Two[2], Chief," Shung Yun said while sitting cross-legged on a pillow beside clan head Haoran.
"You look surprised, Chief Weng," Clan head Haoran said as he caught sight of the surprised expression on the village chief's face.
"Well, I never knew you would let the kid retain even a single request, Shung Haoran," Chief Weng said as he slowly stroked his goatee.
"You now know, chief Weng. How about we go straight to business?" Clan head Haoran asked Chief Weng.
"Wait for a while, Shung Haoran. I'm sure you have more time to live than I do," Chief Weng said before looking at Shung Yun, "why don't we speak about your contract with that low-rank upper-stage jade horn deer?"
"I'm sure the Chief must have heard about my contract with Ubei from Byui Tang. Saying anymore won't make a different," Shung Yun said to Chief Weng.
"I'm just curious about something. Were you able to start communicating with beasts from the beast race because of your contract with the low-rank upper-stage fierce beast, or were you able to form a contract with the beast because you were able to communicate with beasts from the beast race?" Chief Weng asked Shung Yun, curious about his discovery.
"I became able to communicate with beasts from the beast race because of my contract with Ubei. I still don't understand how it all came about. I was just enjoying my battle with him when a connection formed between us," Shung Yun said to Chief Weng as an expression of being amazed by what happened between him and Ubei creeped into his face.
"That means you have no idea why or how the contract came about?" Chief Weng asked Shung Yun.
"Yes," Shung Yun said as he shook his head, disappointed by his ignorance.
"He wants to know if he could reciprocate what Shung Yun did," Clan head Haoran thought as he figured out the reason for Chief Weng's questions.
"Well, that's disappointing. The village would've grown a lot stronger if more villagers were able to form a contract with a beast," Chief Weng sighed as he stroked his goatee, "let's get to business, Shung Haoran."
"You can head back to the clan, Shung Yun. I will be spending some time discussing with the Chief," Clan head Haoran said to Shung Yun.
"Okay, clan head," Shung Yun said as he stood up.
Bowing once more to the Chief, he left the hall to his clan head and the village chief.
"Make your requests, Shung Haoran," Chief Weng said as he looked at clan head Haoran.
"I need one more slot for my Shung clan in joining the Flowing River Sect as an outer disciple for the next ten[10] years," Shung Haoran requested.
"What else, Shung Haoran?" Chief Weng asked.
New Chapter....
Have a nice day...
There's only one true God. The God that's confident to proclaim that He created the Heavens and the Earth. The God that declares that before Him there was no God, and after Him there will be no God. That is the God worth worshipping. A God of such boldness and courage can't be a false god.....
