Chapter 23 - A rank quest

This boy is rather interesting. He holds no magic power and yet he still beat Silen one on one and pushed me to use about a tenth of my full power.

The girl is even more intriguing, she hides her face constantly and seems to use blood magic. But that would mean she's a vampire, so what's she doing all the way down here.

It would seem I've found myself an interesting pair to observe.

Ah the village is in sight, I should focus more on the task at hand. A lesser demon could prove a problem, even for me. Not that I'd lose to one.

"We should find an inn then head into the dungeon tomorrow. We need to rest as much as possible after travelling for three days."

So the young woman wishes to get shacked up with the young man. These two really are an interesting couple.

"I see one over there. Me and Silen can share a room, you kids have fun."

"W-What's that supposed to mean?!"

We approach the inn and book two rooms for the night.

"Silen, what do you think about those two?"

"They're strong. I like them"

Hah, is this seriously all that goes through my dear brothers mind?

Well it can't be helped.

Silen lies down on the bed, not even bothering to take his armour off.

Well it's not that I can blame him. I'd be like that too in his case.

"I'm sorry."

I whisper into the small, damp room. My voice going unheard by all.

Maria takes off her cloak and climbs into the bed.

Looks like I'll be sleeping on the floor again.

I take my shirt off and go to lay down before I get stopped by Maria.

"You can sleep in the bed you know."

"Yes but, uh, is that really appropriate?"

"Oh who the hell cares?"

She grabs my wrist and drags me into the bed where I end up on top of her.

"Getting a bit ahead of yourself, are we?"

She grins up at me seductively whilst being pinned down.

"Shut up."

I feel my face flush as I role to lie next to her.

"Hey so, what do you think of Magiya and Silen?"

I think for a moment.

Magiya's definitely stronger than he lets on, there's no way we've seen the limit of what he cand do, and the way he carries himself shows his absolute confidence that no matter what happens he's strong enough to deal with it. Silen on the other hand seems to be afraid of magic. It's like whenever he sees it he shudders, perhaps due to something that happened in the past.

They're both strong though, if a little strange, like they're hiding something.

"They've got something they're not telling us."

"I'm aware of that, after all everybody has things they'd rather keep secret. I still haven't even told you the name my parents gave me."

"You mean your real name?"

"Maria Cruenta is my real name."

She stated this so insistently despite just telling me it's not the name she was given at birth.

Maria then held her arms out towards me, her signal that she was hungry and wanted a drink.

I lean in and allow her to bite my neck and drink my blood.

She pulls away after a while.

"You know... I can suck other things too."

"What does that mean?"

"Hah, you're so innocent. Guess I'll have to show you."

She pushes me onto my back and moves her head under the covers.

The sun shines through the window as I put my armour back on.

With a soft smile I glance at the man I made sweet love with all through the night.

He's so handsome normally but when he's like this, his face buried in his pillow and partially covered by the blanket, he looks incredibly cute.

After I've finished getting dressed, I sit on the bed and stroke his hair gently to wake him up.

"Wake up. We have a dungeon to raid."

He stirs in his sleep and just rolls over to the other side.

I lean my face in and whisper in his ear.

"Wake up or the village will be levelled by that demon."

Like magic his eyes snap open and he's already grabbed his sword.

He could at least put some clothes on, but I don't mind this view.

"Where?"

"In the dungeon, now put some clothes on. Magiya and Silen are waiting."

I left the room and waited outside with Magiya and Silen.

"So, sounded like you two had fun last night."

Magiya said so with what I can assume to be a smirk beneath his hood.

"Shut up."

Just as I said that Leon walked out the door with his black leather armour and his blade on his waist.

"Let's go. I want to kill this thing as fast as possible."

He quickly walked passed us and onto the forest path that led to the dungeon.

We walked for about an hour before coming to a large stone door with intricate carvings of gargoyles and angels all across the front.

No doubt about it, this is the door to the dungeon.
