Maya climbs in the tub, making sure to show her best features.
It's clear what she's trying to do as she sticks out her ass climbing in and puffs out her relatively large chest once she has climbed in.
Either way it's a nice view.
"So, where did this bath come from?"
"Hm, I made it. Where else would it come from?"
"Wait, just how many different forms of magic are you able to use? To create this you'd need to know both water and earth magic, but on top of that you can use gravity magic and the same form of magic that Draig uses."
"I use ancient magic, though I'm probably it's first user in thousands of years."
"Ancient magic? What's that and how is it different from normal magic?"
"Normal magic is limiting in what it can do. It allows for the manipulation of elements, as well as increasing power through buffing magic, or in special cases, dark, summoning, and holy magic. However, the price of this is that you must spend a lot of time training it to increase your control and build it up like a house, meaning only top class mages such as Circe and Merlin are able to wield more than one form of magic or elemental manipulation. On the other hand ancient magic is only limited by your imagination, the elements can be manipulated with perfect precision right from the start. Another application is it allows you to physically manifest your imagination through skills, allowing you to create entirely new ones. So think of it like this, conventional magic is like building a castle alone, spire by spire, no matter how hard you try you'll never finish the entire castle so its best to build a single well-built spire with a few smaller ones to support it. Ancient magic is more like moving into a castle after it's been built. You've got everything you need, but you can still add extensions if you so desire."
"If that's the case is it possible for me to learn this ancient magic?"
"to be honest, I have no idea. The amount of magic required to access its full capabilities is so high that I honestly feel that with the amount I've got right now it's still not enough. It's possible that ancient humans were significantly more powerful than us and that it's not possible to learn until you have high magic stats. Mine were nearing 1000 before I was able to learn it."
Maya seemed disappointed with my answer. Not that I can blame her, knowing that there's way more powerful magic than what she's been using and that she can't learn it must be like being a fish trapped in a rock pool knowing that the oceans so close and yet they can't do anything about it.
"Anyway, lets forget about that for now. How was that dagger, was the weight right?"
Maya nodded.
"The dagger was good, though I'd prefer something with a little more range."
A little bit more range, should I try to make a gun or should I keep it simple and make a bow?
I'll think about these things later, right now I just want to relax.
"So, Amon, why are you training me?"
"To be honest I don't know. It could be that you remind me of myself, or it could be something else. Either way none of that matters, I'm training you now and that's all that counts."
"Then why do you want to get stronger?"
"Because right now I'm far too weak."
Maya looks on in confusion.
"You're not weak, I've seen how hard you train, while everyone else Is asleep your out here training to increase your stats. You never eat or drink, the only time your not training is once a day for a bath and when we have classes with Ms Circe. The payoff for all that effort is clear, you can move fast enough to traverse Britannia in a few minutes, and you could destroy this nation in its entirety with a single blow. How can someone so incredibly strong say they're weak?"
If only she knew just how big the universe was and just how insane some of the beings out there are.
I look back up at the stars, so beautiful, so out of reach.
"It's because I am weak. Compared to him I'm nothing. Despite all my skills and power, I'm still completely and utterly worthless."
A harsh sting across my face brings my attention back down to the moment at hand.
Maya was stood over me looking down.
Did she slap me?
"Don't say your weak just because your not as strong as you want to be. You're the strongest person I know, so don't you dare say that your worthless! Afterall if your worthless what does that make me?"
She kneels down to look me in the eye. She opened her arms and embraced me in a hug.
"You're not worthless."
Something warm and wet runs down my face out my eyes.
I feel my chest tighten in a way I've never felt before. I can feel my heart pounding as if it's trying to burst. I don't know what this feeling is, but I like it, I hope it never leaves me.
I know exactly how Amon feels right now. Those feelings of inadequacy and inferiority, like no matter what you do you'll never be enough, I know exactly how it all feels.
Because I'm the same.
I was also overwhelmed by my inferiority to everyone else and felt worthless. It swallowed me up and overwhelmed my emotions, but for him, it's like he suppressed them to the point where he doesn't even feel them anymore and my question simply removed the lid he'd placed to keep them away.
I don't know how long he's lived like this, but I can't imagine living like that. It must be horrible.
I continue to embrace him.
I'm so selfish. He's undergoing a backlog of emotion of unknown proportions and I'm happy just for the opportunity to hold him like this.
"I know this is selfish, but can we stay like this for just a little bit longer?"
"I could stay like this all night."
I can tell, it's been poking me for a while now, if I were to just lower my hips, I could claim him.
"Then let's do that."
