How could this happen?
One minute I'm falling asleep in maths class the next second I wake up and I'm sitting in front of some kind of god.
This god had pale skin and deep purple eyes. He appeared to be in his late teens and hadn't combed his wiry black hair in weeks. His outfit made him appear Greek which clashed with the rest of his overall appearance.
"I am Zagreus, the god of death and rebirth, and I'd like to make a deal."
Zagreus seemed to release an earth shattering pressure every time he spoke. I'm nothing before this god. To him I'm nothing. Not even an insect.
"You fell asleep and had a heart attack causing you to die, however I can bring you back to life in another world, in exchange you will train from the moment of your birth to become strong, and in the end, you will serve me."
Serve him? But why would he need me to serve him?
"All will be revealed in time. Patience, boy, if you keep looking at tomorrow you will forget about today."
Well I guess I have no choice but to take his deal anyway. What right have I to defy a god?
"I'll take you up on that offer. Give me a new life."
Looks like I'll have my work cut out for me in future. This won't be easy.
Zagreus smiled and waved his hand. With that I disappeared.
I woke up in the arms of a beautiful woman, her face was perfect. Deep blue eyes and golden hair. Next to her stood a man with a thick beard. His appearance was more common, brown eyes and brown hair. His face seemed kind of flat, his nose had been clearly broken in the past.
"He's so beautiful, my lady."
Somewhere off to the side a maid was complementing my mother on my appearance.
"He looks just like you."
I'm a newborn baby. I definitely don't look like either of them.
"Well, what shall we name him?"
"How about, Amon?"
Whilst everybody else went through the typical new baby bullshit, I took in my surroundings. I seemed to be in a fancy upper class home from the middle ages. This seems like the start of some light novel I read a long time ago. I wonder if this world has a level system as well.
As soon as I thought that a screen seemed to appear in front of me.
[Name: Amon Britannia
Race: Human?
Level: 1
Strength: 1
Speed: 1
Magic: 1
Dexterity: 1
Intelligence: 1
Luck: 100
Skills: God's appraisal, God's status concealment
Title's: The First Other Worlder, Other Worlder, Champion of Life and Death]
Well my status seems low. As expected of a baby. The skills are pretty self-explanatory, but I am curious about my titles, what benefits do they have?
[The First Other Worlder: Grow at a rate 10x quicker than Other Worlders.]
[Other Worlder: Grow at a rate 10x as fast as the original residents of the world. Removes level cap. Easily learn skills.]
What the Fuck! That's a broken ability.
I continue to check my final title.
[Champion of Life and Death: Grants the ability to control life and reduce or extend people's lifespan. Alternatively could outright kill an enemy. Not effective on beings over 50x the users level.]
That's even more Broken. I could effectively make people immortal or kill anyone less than level 50.
I appraise my father who is still talking about me with my mother.
[Name: Arthur Britannia
Race: Human
Level: 48
Strength: 500
Speed: 400
Magic: 100
Dexterity: 350
Intelligence: 100
Luck: 10
Skills: Appraisal, Heavy Weapon mastery (X), Magic (IV)
Titles: King of Britannia, Conqueror, Dragon slayer]
He seems pretty powerful. Although I know I could kill him instantly due to his level. That's a good fail-safe if he ever gets jealous of me sucking my mother's tits.
I've only just been born, and I already have my own room. It's even fancier than the other one. It's larger than my entire house back on Earth.
Might as well use this time to see what this body can do and find it's limits. I try to stand up and succeed through great difficulty.
[Strength has increased by 9 points]
Huh. It's as simple as that? Looks like the mission Zagreus gave me will be easier than I thought.
I climb out of my crib and walk across the room.
[Strength has increased by 5 points.
Speed has increased by 4 points.]
It's seriously this easy. This is too easy. I've got a bad feeling about this.
I pick up a rattle from the floor and swing it like a sword.
[Dexterity has increased by 19 points]
Yeah, something terrible is definitely going to happen.
If training my body is a pathway to increasing my physical abilities, then how would I increase my nonphysical ones?
All I can think of is meditation so I might as well give it a try.
After ten minutes a notification rings in my head.
[Magic has increased by 5 points]
This is insane. Well I know for a fact something bad will definitely happen soon. If I have all this good luck, something has to balance it out.
