Chapter 1 - First Day

Sunlight began to seep through the curtains in the narrow apartment room. The sound of cars passing by began to be heard whistling in the distance. The owner, still sleeping soundly exploring the perfect dream world. Her appearance, would not look good at all. Sleeping glasses that have gone up to her head. Doraemon's favorite pajamas are starting to fade in color. If it weren't for the alarm that had gone off for who knows how many times, the scene wouldn't have changed. The deafening sound of the alarm woke her up. She tried to reach for her cell phone and properly check the clock it was showing there.

"Oh my god, it's half past eight?"

Not believing what she saw, Lexa quickly jumped out of bed. Take the towel and go into the bathroom. Super fast shower only takes five minutes and get dressed right away. A black cloth pants with a blue leopard print shirt. Black flat shoes as well as a one-of-a-kind shoulder bag complete the look. Make up as much as possible even though the result will always be minimal because she only has baby powder and lip gloss to perfect her face. Today is a super important day in her life and she will not miss it. Lexa is about to sign her first employment contract.

She jogged to the nearest bus stop and luckily a bus she needed had stopped there. Lexa breathed a little in relief, but seeing the bus door starting to close, Lexa ran as hard as she could to catch the bus.

"Wait..."

Luckily someone on the bus noticed and told the bus driver to wait a little longer. Lexa can breathe a sigh of relief, she can get into the bus even though her appearance is messy. Luckily she got a seat right by the door next to the man who had previously helped her. The man who couldn't help but smile at Lexa's entire appearance and how the woman was panting beside him.

"You look a little messy," said the stranger.

"Me? Hahaha. Ah," Lexa quickly took a small mirror from her bag and looked at her appearance.

Honestly it's not a little. Her shoulder-length straight hair which she had tied in half was already a mess while the powder had been partly removed. She quickly picked up the powder again and added a little to her face. Also fix her hair by untying it and combing it by hand. At least now it looks decent.

"Hm, thank you," said Lexa curtly in embarrassment.

"No problem. Are you going to work?" the man asked again.

"Yes, hm, not yet. Today I will sign my first work contract and I have to attend a series of training first," Lexa smiled again.

"I see. Congratulations. May I know where you will be working?" asked the man again.

"Ah that, Gold Lycaon Industries. You know that right?" asked Lexa again.

"Gold Lycaon?" asked the man to make sure.

"That's right," Lexa smiled, looking so excited.

"Hm, can we get acquainted? I want to know what your name is," said the man again.

"I'm Lexa. And you?" asked Lexa very kindly.

"I'm Valdo," said the man who he had just realized was very handsome.

Valdo, a mysterious man with pure white skin. Her hair was blonde neatly with blue eyes staring deep into her. Sharp nose with full pink lips. His jaws are so sharp they can scratch anything that accidentally touches them.

"Why? Do I look handsome?" asked Valdo who noticed how the woman by his side kept looking at him with her hands still shaking.

"Ah, no. Hahaha. It's just that y-you, ah carry a backpack. Are you still in school?" asked Lexa quickly her eyes looking for a slit.

"Yeah. I'm in the third grade of high school right now. My school isn't too far from the Gold Lycaon either. So I guess if you don't mind, I'll see you sometime," the smile with two perfect bunny-teeth widened.

"Meet me? Hehehe. Of course it doesn't matter. Hm, should I call you Lil Bro from now on?" asked Lexa making sure they had an age gap even if it was only a year.

"Lil Bro? Hahaha. Are you that old? Sorry, but I'm sure you're not more than 20 years old and not far from me at all. I'll be graduating in three months and I'll start working too after that. So you don't need to call me that. We are the same age," Valdo explained his position.

"Owh, hehehe. Yes, I'm only 18 years old. I just graduated from school last year too. Your guess is right. I'm sorry," Lexa became uncomfortable.

"No problem. Hm, our stop is near," Valdo looked left and right.

"Hm, thanks again for today," said Lexa sincerely.

"Hm, don't worry about that. You'd better worry about what time it is. Isn't that the company that doesn't allow employees to be late? Especially for the first day, it will definitely give a bad impression right?" asked Valdo after glancing at his watch.

So Lexa also glanced at the cheap clock that was wrapped in her hand and sure enough it was only five minutes less than the appointed time. Lexa immediately ran just as the bus door opened. Valdo, who came down casually, could only stare at Lexa with a meaningful slanted smile on his face. Walking in different directions to his own school. Lexa could see a high-rise building that would later become a place to digging some money. The first day, she didn't want to mess it up.

Met the receptionist, a beautiful woman with sharp eyes and hair in a neat bun. The receptionist immediately knew who the girl who had come in a hurry was. Lexa Giovanna Ita. The girl who was supposed to sign the contract today and would be working in the general affair department.

"You're so careless even on your first day on the job," said the receptionist.

"I-I'm sorry," Lexa quickly lowered her head.

"No need to apologize to me. I'm not in charge here. Luckily the HR manager will be a little late today," said the receptionist who could be seen from the nameplate on her chest named Esmeralda.

"Thank you. What should I call you?" asked Lexa trying to build a friendship.

"Esme. Call me Esme. Hm he's coming, quickly look down!" said Esme even had to stand in front of her reception desk and look down and Lexa quickly looked down.

Lexa was still too confused about what was going on so she tilted her head slightly to peek at who she really should be respecting. Lexa could see a pair of shiny alligator-skin loafers striding forward followed by a few more steps behind him. Lexa started to raise her gaze to see the man who was currently wearing sunglasses. It's not very clear, but this might be another handsome guy she's going to meet today.

"Who's he?" she asked in a whisper to Esme.

"Oh my gosh! Shut up! Just look down until he's gone!" Esme glanced quickly at the girl by her side and whispered emphatically.

Lexa could see out of the corner of her eye the man had turned and got into the elevator.

"Who the hell is he? Why do we have to look down like that?" Lexa asked innocently looking at Esme who was walking around her desk again.

"Of course he's our boss. The CEO of this company. Vano Orazio Lycaon. Don't tell me you didn't know! You're working for his company now!" Esme reminded.
