Chapter 4 - The Coworkers

It was five in the afternoon and this meant it was time for the secretaries to go home. From a distance, Lexa could hear the voices of two women talking to each other and laughing. Who else but Nola and Zoya. They'll probably stop by the restroom before going home. Lexa was right because the sound was heard passing into the toilet. She don't know what they were doing in there. Meanwhile, Lexa is almost bored to death because there is not much work she can do now. Unexpectedly, the two women entered his room to drink mineral water. Of course, Lexa smiled politely at the two of them.

"No need to be too shy with us. If it's just to drink mineral water like this, we can do it," said Nola politely.

"Ah, yes, hm Miss," Lexa was thinking about what to call the two of them.

"How old are you?" asked Zoya curiously.

"My age? Hmm, 18," Lexa replied.

"Ah, what did I tell you. She's still very young. Vano might not like her," said Nola reassuringly.

"Hm, yeah I don't think she's a real threat," Zola's smile widened.

"I know you might be a little confused. This Zoya has always liked Vano. I'm sure you can see for yourself our boss is a little stiff and that's how it is. Even us secretaries can't get close to him. Zoya has a really hard time approaching him," Nola winked.

"Ish what are you saying! Vano is paying attetion to me! I know he's secretly doing it!" Zoya is annoyed at her best friend's words.

"Hahaha. Isn't that just in your mind?" Nola asked mockingly.

"Ah, you're such an annoying friend!" Zoya sulks.

"Hm, how about you, Lexa? Don't you want to tell us about you? Who are you?" Nola asked curiously sitting across from Lexa.

"Me? Hehehe. There's nothing special about me," said Lexa slightly nervously.

"Ok. Then just tell me how not special you are?" Nola still wanted to know.

"I'm actually an orphan. My parents died when I was 10 years old. Then I lived with my grandmother with the inheritance money from my parents. It wasn't much so my grandmother could only pay for my schooling until high school. She also died two years ago. I'm alone and have no money so that's the reason I'm here," Lexa smiled stoically.

"Wow, that's actually quite sad. So you're all alone?" Nola asked curiously.

"Hm, I guess so," Lexa smiled.

"Then where do you live now?" Zoya asked again.

"A small and old apartment. A legacy from my grandmother," Lexa smiled faintly.

"After all, we'll be co-workers after this. I like Vano and you should keep that in mind! I'll be nice as long as you're understanding about it. Don't approach him or talk to him other than work!" Zoya confirms.

"Hm, okay," after all, Lexa didn't really have any other intentions besides working here.

"Come on let's go home, Jasper is waiting for me," Nola said with a faint smile as soon as she saw the screen of her cellphone.

"You see Lexa? This is the reason she doesn't sympathize with me! Because she already has a boyfriend of his own," Zoya teased looking sarcastically at Nola.

Lexa just smiled and nodded, so are Nola and Jasper dating? Wow, this is getting very interesting. Just a day working there, she can already see and learn many things. Zoya, Lexa admits that she is beautiful. Sexy body with a decent height. Her hair was black and wavy so pretty that it came down to her back. The style is very modern and edgy. Her make-up is thick but looks just right on her. While Nola is much calmer with brown shoulder-length hair and makeup that looks much more natural. He also has a proportional body but is petite and looks adorable. Maybe they can be good partenr, just like Zoya said as long as she doesn't mess with Vano.

Lexa suddenly startled when the phone in her room rang. He slowly picked up the phone as if it was a night horror phone. The girl still wasn't used to it. A deep voice greeted from across and it was Vano asking for hot tea. Don't forget Lexa looked again at the notes she had made. Even for tea, Vano has criteria that must be met. He wants the color to be exactly the way he wants it and the amount of sugar added is also exactly what he needs. This boss is a perfectionist and she has to be precise about it.

Lexa took one big breath before bringing the tea into the room, where the door suddenly looked much bigger in her sight now. She came in after saying she want to deliver tea. Pushing the big door with her tiny body and walking inside. Vano is still faithfully sitting in his oversized chair looking at the laptop in front of him and typing whatever there is. Lexa walked over and was about to put her cup on one side of the table and quickly the voice startled her.

"Did you forget where to put the cup?" said Vano in a firm and deep voice.

Yes, Lexa doesn't remember, or maybe she even forgot to read it. Even to just put the cup there is a certain side that he has to choose?

"Hm, sorr, Sir. I guess I haven't read that part," said Lexa frankly.

"Tsk, you're suck. Over there!" he said with one index finger pointing at the other side to the right of the table with his eyes fixed on her.

Without a word Lexa simply placed it at the point the CEO had pointed at and she prepared to leave.

"Where are you going?" the voice interrupted again.

"Of course go back to my room," said Lexa politely.

"Sit down and tell me about yourself," the wolf eyes stared at her with intimidation.

"Sorry Mister?" Lexa made sure she heard right.

"Are your ears troubled?" yes of course the man did not want to repeat his words.

Lexa sat carefully in the chair opposite the man. The table was very wide maybe about 1.5 meters. Those eyes followed every detail of his movements and it made Lexa palpitate too. She didn't know much about this man yet and yes it made Lexa worried that something would go wrong in the man's eyes when she spoke. He was still sitting there in silence when suddenly his cell phone rang. Lexa didn't want to eavesdrop at all so her eyes looked around. Lexa remembers Mr. Berto telling her that he can clean the room but absolutely not move anything or Vano will be very angry. Lexa had cleaned it this morning, but there was always so much to see from the room that always amazed her.
