The next morning I woke up feeling energetic and pretty good.
Well, last night went perfectly and wildly good than I pictured it going.
I don't know why I had a very bad feeling that I was going to mess it up somehow but it surprisingly went perfectly.
I know Kai loved it very much.
I could tell because of the look of pure priceless he had in his blue eyes that he loved it.
My phone rings up with a text and a frown creeps on my face.
It has been blowing up crazily since last and none other than Big Mouth Joshua bothering me for no reason.
He told me he wanted to take Kai out clubbing on his birthday and I know Kai is not a clubbing guy.
Why can't he leave me now that the birthday is over?
I reach for my phone and text him.
'Please stop draining my phone's battery with your unstoppable message.
Last night I took Kai out for dinner.
It's up to you if you feel like you have to take him to your clubs or whatever.'
I hit send because I know Kai is not going anywhere.
We are leaving for our northwest getaway place, where is Big Mouth going to find him?
I just hope he stops calling and texting me.
I park my car and make my way out to Leila's house, am about to ring her door when she opens it and smiles.
"Good morning girl." She says taking me in her arms.
I smile as I hug her back.
"Good morning Leila."
We pull away and her smile widens when she looks me up and down to my feet.
"Babe, we are wearing the same outfit." She says and I look down at her too.
It's missing a little something to be similar but you could say we are pulling the same styles.
Am wearing a black cropped jacket with black sports leggings that I added white stockings that reach just below the mid of my leg with white Air Force's.
While Leila is wearing black sport leggings with a white cropped nike t-shirt.
She only has white stockings too below the leggings.
I laugh at it.
"You just can't help yourself from copying everything from me," I say to tease her as I make my way inside their house and she narrows her eyes at me.
"You wish, girl am a girl whose Instagram page got verified. How can I cope with you about clothing?" She says and I chuckle.
"Remind me again when that happened, was it about a year to come or few years even?" I ask.
"I think if I remember correctly, it's ten years to come," Lucas says from somewhere that I know is in the kitchen and I laugh.
"You definitely remembered it correctly," I say and Leila groans.
"Whatever, just so both of you know that you won't be getting anything from me once instagram starts paying me." She says and we laugh out again.
People have weird dreams.
How can you dream of being paid by Instagram?
She passes me and walks to the Kitchen but I follow behind closely.
Lucas is the one making breakfast.
"Your parents aren't back yet?" I ask them and Leila turns to shake her head.
Her parents are the type of people that move around for missions of the embassy of America that need to be taken care of on the field.
"Am sorry guys," I say because I feel like I brought up unnecessary topics.
"No worries, Bambi. Plus it always feels good being the man of the house." Lucas says and Leila groans.
"Just go to hell Lucas, finish cooking and bring the food here." I smile because every time am with these two I just realize how normal me and my siblings are given them.
"So Lucas is the one always cooking?" I ask because am not going to lie, I didn't take that guy as a cook at all.
Leila shakes her head.
"Not always, we take turns and it so happened to be his turn this morning." She says and I shake my head unbelievably.
"Do not tell me it is exactly what I think it is?" I ask with a curious smile.
"Yes, we take turns." She says and I bust out laughing so hard.
"Oh my God, you guys are helpless," I say laughing out so hard that I feel my stomach starting to hurt me as I lean.
I try to stop it but I don't seem to still be at the point that I can do it that easily.
"Yeah, laugh so hard because you don't know what it is like managing a house without a proper adult," Leila says and I laugh.
"Leila you are the adult," I say.
"Not the one to manage the house chores though." She says with a frown and I laugh even harder, she is not helping my situation.
Is leaving on your own this hard or they are just picturing it to be like that?
"Leila you are making my stomach hurt," I announce to her while still laughing hard.
"Yeah, laugh. I mean why not? you still have your mom to be there for you, cook, clean, and do your laundry. Tell me about when you will be alone."
"Guys, here is the food," Lucas says and I try to pull myself together and say to him.
"At least you are full of action and not just words," I say to Lucas and Leila pushes me to the side.
"My God Sam, you will make me not have you eat anything from this household. Anyway, what is it that you want from me now that you wouldn't say on the phone anyway." She asks before she fills her mouth with some omelet and then turns to give me her full attention.
"It better be about Kai. Girl cause I can do anything for him but you," she pretends to be thinking while rolling her eyes. "Probably not anything."
"Leila, do you ever remember that that is my man you keep fungirling over?"
"Woah, I love it when you call him your man." She cheers and I roll my eyes.
"Sam, you gotta a boyfriend?" Lucas asks and I turn to him.
"You can't tell a soul," I warn and he blinks his eyes at me dramatically.
"Well that's news, but I think it's better keeping it to ourselves cause some many hearts would get broken anyway if word was to get out." He says and I frown.
I don't even want to know what he means by that.
"Yeah, let her keep keeping that gorgeous man as a secret to herself," Leila says to Lucas and then she turns to look at me. "Don't come crying to me when he gets snatched away but some thirst bitches out there," Leila says and I turn to narrow my eyes at her.
"No one is snatching another," I say through clenched teeth annoyed but where the conversation is heading now.
I can't stand picturing my man with some other thirst bitches as Leila calls it.
"Listen I need another big huge favor from you," I say and she asks looking uninterested.
"What is it now?"
"I want you to cover for me again?" I ask trying to look as cute and needy as I can but she turns to me and brushes me off.
"Girl no," she says and I frown.
"What? Why?"
"I can't keep covering for you while you are all there getting some good dick and time of your life while am left sucking alone here." She says and I frown.
"What? Jealous bitch. Do you also want to be taken so you guys could enjoy some threesome?" Lucas asks and I make an annoyed face at him.
"Ew," I say.
"Yes, I want to be taken too but exclude the part of the threesome for me," Leila says and I small smile forms on my lips.
"Are you serious?" I ask.
"Yes, I am serious. Am not covering for you if you are not taking me this time." She says and I nod pretending to be thinking about it.
Well, that is what I came here for but if she wants it so bad, why not make her work for it?
"Leila, how can I take you? You know it's not a family outing right?" I ask trying to reason. "Plus would you even get the time off?"
"Don't worry about my job Sam. And it's not like am asking to be taken on a honeymoon but forget it if you don't want to take me because I ain't helping you." She says and I laugh.
"Jesus, Leila who are you now?" I ask but she just ignores me and keeps on eating.
I chuckle because boy, I never get used to this one right here.
"Leila, I came here to ask you to come this time—" she doesn't let me finish.
"Really? Then why wouldn't you say so earlier?"
"And spoil the fun seeing you sucking around. Not, never." I say and she rolls her eyes.
"Well in that case am not coming."
"Fine," I say pretending to be fine with it.
"Bitch you aren't serious, oh my lord. Sam tell me you aren't shitting me now?" She asks and I shake my head.
"No Leila, this time we are going for some days and I can't say we are together when we are not together.
I might even use the facade of saying to my parents that you are dating Kai in my place so Dad won't wonder why he is not at his job." I explain.
"Well, if you are going for days. You are taking me too?" Lucas asks and I hesitate.
"You want to come too?"
"Yeah, am perfectly fine being alone usually but it's Christmas time Sam. I don't want to spend it alone." He says and I realize he has a fair point.
"Okay, then come," I say and he smiles.
"That's my girl."
"No, am not your girl. Am Kai's and if you still want to come get that in your head."
"Who is this Kai anyway?" Lucas asks and Leila says to him.
"A man you will never be even not in your wildest dreams."
"Oww, touché," I say and she nods her head.
"A true one though." She confirms and Lucas just rolls his eyes at her.
"Whatever."
I feel good about the result when I go back from the Rwema household.
I told my father in the morning before he went to the embassy that I was going on a holiday camp with my friend Leila and some of her friends and now that she is in I feel great.
I walk back to my room and Yarrow comes after me.
"I heard you are going camping?" He asks walking into my room.
I turn to look at him as I sit on my bed and nod my head.
"Why didn't you invite me?" He asks and I frown.
"Was I supposed to?" He walks closer to where I am sitting on my bed and sits his ass down in front of me on the carpet floor.
"Is it just me or you no longer give us as much time of you as you did back in America?" He asks and I smile.
"That was before I was jobless but now I have got school and some responsibilities on my back, Yarrow," I say and he nods his head before asking.
"So it a tight no if I say I want to come with you?" He asks again and I nod my head with a smile.
"I got an invitation Yarrow and I don't think it has a plus one on it," I say to him and I watch as his face falls.
I would love to have him come with me but I don't even know how Kai is going to feel about taking Leila and Lucas with me. I didn't tell him they were coming plus I let those guys know am dating Kai. Am not ready to have any of my family members know yet.
"Why don't we check and see if it's got a plus one." He suggests and I frown.
"It's an oral invite."
"Come on it has a plus one." He cries and I laugh.
"Yarrow go and cry at your momma and let me be," I say and he fakes crying even more.
He is snuggling down on the floor kicking nothing like a toddler when the door to my room opens.
Savannah walks right in.
"Sam." She calls and I look up at her.
"The Rwema's are here looking for you." She announces and I smile at her.
I look down at Yarrow.
"Time to ditch your ass in a whale," I say and he scoffs.
"You, you are an evil witch." He says and I smirk.
"Sweetie I have been called worse." I jump off of my bed and reach for the bag I packed and put it on my shoulder.
With another small one that consists of my shoes that I will be taking in my hands before I head to the door.
Savannah looks at me with the bags and I watch as she frowns.
"Where are you going?" She asks and I smile at her.
"Am moving out. Dad kicked me out because I didn't come to cheer on her favorite girl last night." I try to joke but she rolls her eyes as she steps in my way blocking me from going anywhere.
"Am going camping with Leila and Lucas with some more of Leila's friends," I say and she frowns.
"Why didn't you invite me?" She also asks. "That's what I was asking about too and I guess to me it makes sense but how could she not even invite her twin sister?" Yarrow says and I turn to glare at him before turning to Savannah.
"Don't let that idiot get into your head sav, Leila invited me too and I think it's a solo invite so that's why I never put any of you in." I try to reason but she is looking at me so unhappily that I can tell right at the spot.
I move her to the side and try to joke. "Anyway don't you guys have your friends? Why don't you go and hang out with them? Do I ever tell any of you to take me?" I say and make my way downstairs.
Leila and Lucas are talking with Mom in the living room.
I stand there and announce my arrival.
"Am ready guys," I say and they turn to me.
"Good. I was thinking you bailed on us." Leila says winking at me and I shake my head.
Mom stands up and walks to me.
I put the bag on my shoulder and that I have in my hand down and hug her goodbye.
"Please be so careful, if not for you for me at least." She says and I nod when we pull away.
"I love you, mom," I say and she nods.
She turns to Leila and Lucas.
"You guys also be careful but please look after my daughter." She says and smiles as I tease.
"Mom, am not the baby you are carrying in your stomach," I say and lean in to kiss her stomach.
"Bye, younger brother. Be good to mom." I say and she chuckles as she brings her hands to rest at the top of it.
"You know you are starting to make me believe it's a boy too." She says and I laugh.
"Because it is," I confirm and she smiles.
"Go away before you put thoughts in my head." I chuckle as I lean in to kiss her cheek and then I kiss the baby in her stomach.
"Take care, Mom." She nods as she smiles at me.
I see tears starting to form in her eyes and I smile because I know it's the hormones.
I lean and hug her again before we withdraw and I make a heart with my fingers and whisper to her.
"Tell Dad I leave this for him behind."
She nods.
"Go before you make me cry even more or worse I refuse you to leave." That makes me pick the bags quickly because I also can't help it not be with Kai.
I look at my siblings and blow them kisses before I turn and nod to Leila and Lucas to go.
We walk out and I turn to Lucas.
"Are you not going to help me with the bags?" I ask him and he frowns.
"Like hell I am." He says and I roll my eyes.
"Where were you while others were taking gentlemen's classes?" I ask and he shrugs.
"I told you he will never be the man that Kai is, not even in his jokes and you thought I was lying. Now see for yourself." Leila says.
"Girl sorry for doubting you," I say to her and Lucas rolls his eyes.
"Who is this Kai that you two keep grooving over?" He asks and Leila replies.
"The man that you can't be even when you are asleep. Now are you ready for the time of your lives bitches?" She asks and I laugh while Lucas shouts.
"Like hell we are." We laugh as crazy as we head into Leila's car.
I take the back seat while they take the front.
Lucas gets behind the wheel and then blows the car with the sound of loud music.
I laugh knowing am going to really have the time of my life but am not sure yet if it's not before I will be dead when Kai realizes am with these two.
