'We exist in moments, nothing more.'
I feel lips on me waking me up from my sleep.
They stop and the person tries to walk away thinking that I am asleep but I hold him back as I keep him in my arms and legs caging them from leaving.
"Don't go," I whine tightening my hold on him tighter.
"Darling, we slept in," Kai says and then I feel another kiss on my forehead.
"Whatever. It's not like we have work or something." I say protestingly but out of nowhere.
I feel tingles on me.
Kai tinkles me and I try to pull away from him and run for my life but unfortunately am stuck.
I know he has two hands but somehow I feel like he is tinkling me everywhere like he suddenly has five of them.
I laugh out so hard that my eyes become teary and then my stomach starts hurting so badly.
The breath is dripping out of me that I don't even have it in me to tell him to stop.
But as I feel myself taking in some last of them in and out.
He stops.
I try to catch my breath as I take in a big one more before I start breathing normally.
"Worst waking-up call ever," I say and he chuckles.
"Good morning darling." I roll my eyes at him.
"Bad morning." He chuckles once more before he leans in to kiss my neck.
"It's so unfair that it is a bad morning so suddenly, because well I wanted to take you somewhere." He says and I smile.
"Your bad acting this morning is going to cause you to go alone." He continues kissing me butterfly kisses from my neck to my shoulder to my left arm.
"Good thing there are your friends here they can come in your place." I smile.
"Oh, you wouldn't dare." He lifts his head and looks at me.
"You are leaving me with no other choices darling." He says smiling at me but I suddenly don't care about what he is saying anymore.
I look at him and all I care about is how I landed myself a man like Kai to be here with me.
To wake up next, to sleep next, to spend most of my days with.
I move up and get closer to him and peck him on his lips.
I throw my arms behind his neck and hug him tightly while lying on the bed.
I keep us in that position wanting us to feel something from it and I do. I feel safe from Kai's presence and I feel loved as I have never been but what I love about him more is how mature he takes me.
"Where will we be going," I ask as I get out of bed.
"You will see. Just remember to wear running shoes." He says and I turn to frown at him.
"Are we attending a marathon?" I ask teasingly and he chuckles.
"Something like that." I giggle before I walk into the bathroom.
I walk out and wear a short ripped Jean short that reaches my mid-thigh.
I walk to Kai's part in the closet and steal his black T-shirt that I put on.
I put on some white Nike socks with my white Nike shoes that I came wearing and then headed out.
Wherever we are going that requires running shoes, I know my outfit of the day will meet the standards.
We have an indoor breakfast for us four before heading out.
Leila and Lucas go in the same car with Theo and Liam and take the back seats while I and Kai follow them in a separate car.
"Where are we going again?" I asked once he started driving.
"Did you ever know where we were going again and somehow happened to forget?" He asks and I chuckle.
"You are bad at this." He shrugs but when I realize am not going to be told where we are going.
I lean back in the car and pull my window down before connecting my phone to the car's Bluetooth and playing some songs from Spotify.
I swayed to the first song then the second, then the third without Kai's help but he kept turning to smile at me now and then.
Am on the fourth which is a song by Tai Verdes called How Deep.
The first verse is my favorite so I sing it for Kai and reaching the chorus I turn to him.
"Are my songs not the type of things you hear too?" I ask casually because he seems to not feeling them. He turns to look at me before shaking his head.
"Songs aren't my type of thing in general." He says and I frown my lips.
"You are a first," I comment.
"Uhm? You said what?" He asks and I shake my head before elaborating for him.
"You are the first person I know of songs aren't their type of thing." He shrugs his shoulders.
I bring the volume down.
"What do you do in your free time, Kai?" I ask because I realize I don't know much about this guy and I want to know him more like no other.
I want to know him more than I know myself because am intrigued with him wholly.
"I play golf." He says and I smile.
"You do?" I ask and he nods.
"What else?"
He turns to smile at me again before answering.
"I read books."
"Noooooooooooooo." I sing that out dramatically and he chuckles.
"What?" He asks and then turns to look at me. "What is wrong with reading?" I shrug my shoulders.
"I don't know, I guess it's not my type of thing either. My parents and twin sister do but not me and my brother."
"You have a twin sister?" He asks and I realize he didn't know.
I nod my head at him when he turns to look at me.
"You didn't know?" I ask and he shakes his head.
"I just knew you had a sister but not specifically a twin one." I smile now feeling really curious about him seeing me with Savannah and if he would be able to know me.
I turn to him and say.
"We are identical twins," I say and he nods not saying anything.
"Would you know me if I were to be standing beside her wearing the same things as her?" I ask and he nods. "I would know you if you were to be standing among ten lookalikes of you." I laugh at his words.
"I do not believe you," I say and he turns to look at me and says looking dead serious in my eyes.
"I know you darling." I just smile.
I do not believe it at least not when I will see it and now am going to have to see it because one way or another am making it happen.
Me and Savannah are identical twins but if you knew us well, it really wouldn't be so hard to differentiate us.
Am taller than her by two inches and my hair is a little brown lighter than hers.
But everything is totally alike.
But with different tastes, our parents and Yarrow have learned to differ from us over time.
So I don't buy that Kai would differentiate me from Savannah.
He hasn't even met her yet.
I sit back and think through the whole drive to where we heading.
Kai slows down his speed, I look around and I find a logo welcoming us to a park called a vernacular name that I can't be able to pronounce.
I feel the excitement spike me instantly.
I turn to him.
"Are we here to visit other gorillas troops?" I ask and he turns to smile at me.
"No darling, but we are here for adventure still." He says and I smile too.
"Well, am here for all that." It doesn't take long before he stops the car.
I get out and Leila comes running to me instantly.
"Girl, you will die from the beauty of this place? Have you been to a bridge before?" She asks and I nod my head. "The ones that aren't steady?" I shake my head.
"Well, here we go to the canopy baby." She smiles at me.
She doesn't even wait for the tour guide to walk us.
She takes my hand and leads me.
She rushes us through the speech of what to do and not to do before she leads me to the infamous canopy that I heard other tours talking about.
Leila doesn't stop gushing over how much she loves it here.
But once we reach I realize it's only fair for her to love it. Because it's so mercilessly beautiful here.
The canopy bridge is built just at the top so high above the trees.
It's like being in the sky but also on the ground.
I feel the adrenaline rush in me when I know I will be walking on it. I have no fear of heights.
But given how this shakes and looks like it's not strong enough to support you when it is, could make you think otherwise because I do.
When it's our time to walk on the bridge called the canopy.
I have mixed feelings of fear, and excitement running in me but when I feel a hand on my shoulder.
I look up at Kai smiling at me.
"You got it." He says and I nod my head.
I look ahead and Leila is already on the bridge walking.
She is followed by Lucas and then I have to as the third and Kai the fourth, followed by Theo and Liam.
I look at Leila and how unafraid she is at how the bridge is not steady and when I feel Kai's hands on my arms providing me some sort of strength too.
I realize there is nothing to fear.
I take my first step on the bridge and when it shakes I feel my whole body shake with it.
I want to look down but Kai holds my head back like he knew what I was about to do exactly.
I turn to look at him and smile nervously.
"I got it," I say to him but am saying it to myself.
"You got it darling." He says nodding slowly at me and I nod my head.
I feel his lips on my head and I know I can do it.
The bridge is shaky but it's not dangerous because the sides of it are protected so that you can't fall from there.
The grip reaches my pelvic area, and there is also a firm strong rope to hold on to that reaches my chest. There is no way I would fall here, the only thing holding me back is the fear of my imagination, the what if the bridge were to fall but I know I have to put that aside and put my faith in the builder.
I put my hand on the blue rope and grip it tightly.
I step my other feet on it and then breathe out.
"We got this," I say to myself as I start to walk slowly and slowly feeling like the shake will drive me insane but I realize I have to get it out of me.
Kai comes to me and puts his hand on my waist.
I appreciate it because it cools me down. Slowly by slowly, I start to get used to it and when I do, it's when I chill and take my time to look around.
I can feel my breath suck in my
Lungs at the view.
"Wow." I slowly say.
We stand at the top of the forest and look all over it from all sides.
The scene is purely beautiful with the rainy cloud just below us.
I can't bring myself to imagine how beautiful it looks with a sunset.
Kai pitches me slowly on my waist and I turn to smile at him.
"It's so magical," I say to him and he smiles down at me.
"I know." He says leaning in to kiss me.
I feel him deepen the kiss by dancing his tongue with mine in my mouth and I let go of my hold on the rope and bring my hands up behind his neck.
I run my fingers through his short blond hair feeling really engaged in the moment.
We pull back and I smile at him.
"Thank you for bringing me here," I say to him and he nods at me before he leans in again and pecks me on the lips.
We pull back and we walk the rest of the walk with our hands in one another.
I don't have to worry about pictures because Leila is with a camera.
We finish the walk and then we get to tour the inside of the forest.
There are also so many beautiful animals and I love it so much there.
I joke around with Leila and Lucas as we tease one another.
I feel so shocked again when they take us to the waterfall.
It's so beautiful that I can't believe it.
It's my first seeing one in real life.
It looks so scary like the water may escalate all over the place but those thoughts goes away the moment Leila hands me her camera and undresses from her clothes and jumps under it.
I smile at her but I reach for the hem of my shirt only to be reminded I have no bra underneath.
I frown but I realize I will have to swim with it.
I remove mr short and jump into the water with her.
"Leila catch me."
I say and she wiggles away.
"No bitch." She swims away and I laugh as I feel the cold water hit me.
At first, I want to shiver away and swim out but I realize I will get used.
"Lucas takes us pictures." Leila commands and I watch as he rolls his eyes but still reaches for the camera that I put on the ground and starts taking pictures.
I fool around with Leila in the water for some time and we only come out when it starts raining over us.
We are already wet so we stay in the water for some time while the others yell at us to come out.
Am having the time of my life.
The lifeguards at the park bring us umbrella and leads out of the park.
They take us back to our cars and we drive out to the restaurant.
I start shivering as soon as we sit down in a restaurant.
Kai says nothing he only walks out and later comes back with a set of complete hoodies and their trouser for Leila and me.
I smile at him and we thank him before we go to change into them.
We walk back to them and he orders us some tea.
We have a late lunch there before we head back to the OO's gorilla nest.
I head straight to bed and tug my body there.
Kai comes later with some tea for him and me.
He goes to the bed with me and cuddles with me as we drink the tea wanting to be hot.
I don't realize he came with a book until he reaches for it and starts reading.
I try to read but I get nothing.
I really don't know how people who read do it.
"What is this you are reading about?" I ask and he looks down at me in his arms.
"It's a play darling."
Do I know them? No.
"How do you not fall asleep while reading?" I ask and it makes him chuckle lightly.
"How can you fall asleep?" He asks and I frown.
"How can you not?" I argue back.
"It's a privilege to read Samantha, how can you fall asleep with a privilege we get while reading? It's like we are given a chance to penetrate through the author's mind and learn the unspoken wisdom we can't learn or get if it were to be spoken." He says and my frown deepens.
"What is the meaning of that?" I ask but I realize I even want to know. "You know what, I don't even want to know, just read," I say and I slowly unfold from his hold.
I took our cups and got to look for Leila to hang with them.
Lucas is watching a basketball match while Leila is on her phone going through all the pictures of today.
The next day we spend it in the door because it so happens to rain the whole day.
It's in the afternoon and I am lying in bed with Kai.
I turn to look at him and ask.
"What's your favorite show should we watch?" I ask with a smile on my face.
"I don't do movies or shows?"
"What?" I ask as I move a little away from him. "You don't listen to songs and you don't watch movies?" I ask trying to make sure I heard him right.
"Yes, darling." He says with a smile on his face but the look in his eyes tells me he is serious.
