The following day, Kevin and Amanda return to the house and go to the backyard to dig out the body. As they start to dig, Kevin says, "Amanda, I hope you are wrong and she isn't dead or in there because if what you said you saw is true, then you just might lead us to the killer."
"She is in there Kevin, I know it," Amanda replied with certainty.
As they dig deeper, they finally reach the body. "Oh my God, it's Katherine," Amanda exclaimed, her voice shaking with fear. They immediately called the police who arrived quickly. The cops carefully removed Katherine's body and took it away for further investigation.
Detective Jones and Detective Densel arrived at the scene of a potential homicide, where the body of a young woman had been discovered buried in the backyard of her own house. As they approached the house, they saw a car drive up and two men step out and head directly inside. They showed their badges to the other officers on the scene before starting their investigation.
Adam, one of the officers at the scene, filled the detectives in on what was known about the case so far. "Homicide case of a young woman in her mid-twenties who died three years ago. The body was found buried in the backyard of her own house and according to the witness, the deceased used to live here three years ago before she died."
Detective Jones was shocked by the information and asked, "Are you saying that she was murdered in this house and buried at the back of her own house three years ago? And why wasn't there any report of a missing person?"
Adam replied, "I don't know, sir. That's what we're trying to figure out."
Detective Jones then asked, "Where is the witness who reported this?" Adam pointed in the direction of Amanda Johnson and her friend Kevin Blake.
Detective Jones approached Amanda and introduced himself and his partner. "Hello ma'am, I am Detective Jones and this is my partner Detective Densel. Can you tell us how you knew about the body?"
Amanda started to explain her story, "I bought this house three weeks ago after I lost my husband and moved here to start afresh with my kids. We brought in our belongings the following week and that was when strange things started happening in the house. My daughter told me that something or someone was in the house, watching us. At first, I didn't believe her, but when I had the experience too, I realized she wasn't crazy. It scared us out of the house, so I took my kids and ran to stay at my friend's place."
Detective Jones listened intently, taking notes on his notepad. He was skeptical about Amanda's claims of a ghostly presence, but he knew he had to keep an open mind to solve this case.
Amanda continued, "I got curious and wanted to find out what was going on, so my friend Kevin and I went door-to-door in the neighborhood asking if anyone knew who used to live here. That was when we met Mrs. Andrey who lives not far from here. She told us that Katherine White used to live here but just disappeared abruptly three years ago. The last time she saw Katherine was when she went to seek her advice about her abusive ex-boyfriend who wanted to come back into her life. Mrs. Andrey advised her to end it. That was the last day and time she saw her."
Detective Jones was now even more intrigued by the case. He had a feeling that this case was not just a simple murder, but something much more sinister and complex. As he wrapped up his conversation with Amanda, he couldn't help but feel a sense of unease and wonder what other dark secrets lay buried in the backyard of this house. He knew he had to dig deeper, but he also knew that he needed to proceed with caution, as the killer may still be at large and could be dangerous. The investigation had only just begun, and Detective Jones was determined to uncover the truth and bring justice to the victim and her loved ones.
