Recap;
Instead, I choose to push everything aside, climb on the queen-sized mattress, snuggle with the long soft blanket thrown across and close my eyes and feel Spyke lean against me.
The heat from Spyke was coming in, in waves and I feel myself drift away enjoying that heat for a moment as a comfortable warm hug enveloped my body and cocooned me to sleep.

Chapter Three
A sudden creak in the floorboards had me opening my eyes and in a fluid motion, I sat up straight, my heart thumping wildly in my chest.
I see a figure outlined in the darkness standing in the doorway to my room and for a moment I panic, thinking it was a burglar.
After a moment, memories of earlier that day came flooding back and I take into account Samson was o longer on the bed with me, in fact, I didn't see him when I glance around the room and when I turn my head back to the figure in the doorway, I see him.
Caiden stands leaning against one side of the door frame with an emotionless expression, but still the same electric blue eyes, he wore a grey t-shirt and dark blue almost black long sweatpants that were way too big for him, as they hung loosely by the folds around his legs.
His arms are folded around his chest and his lips turn into a smirk.
'His lips.' My lips slightly part when glancing at them.
I am instantly hit with a pang in my stomach and my gut twists as I recall a small part from that night, it plays in my head, almost like a movie.
I move and so does he. His back against the bed, his hands gripping the sheets as my hands fold into tight fists against his chest.
My leg goes over his lap so I'm straddling him, and his hands immediately move down to grip my hips tightly, folding the skin between his fingers. I hiss but don't object as my hands go up and wound in his hair.
He leans forward and seals our lips together once again, letting out a groan of satisfaction, his hands going up and around my back pulling me closer. He pulls away after a moment to lean his head down latching his lips on the side of my neck, pulling me closer-
"Are you going to say anything or just stare the whole time?" Caiden's voice interrupts my flashback and I am yanked back to the present.
"I wasn't staring," I mutter and look away, lifting up my arms and stretching out my legs, I let out a small yawn.
"Where's Samson?" I ask without turning back to him, and try to steady my severely racing heart.
I bring my hands in my lap and clench them as a distraction from wanting to reach over and run my fingers through his locks, or wrap my hands around his neck and crash our lips together like I so desperately wanted to right n-.
"He's downstairs with Marley." Caiden says, picking himself up off the doorframe and walking into the room, looking around.
"So...it's you." Caiden says, moving around to one side of the bed, the closest side to the door and stands not one foot from the bed.
Almost close enough to reach out.
"Yes, it's me." I say, and finally, turn my head and tilt my head up to meet Caiden's stare.
I wasn't expecting him to be so close.
I lift my eyes up and take in his heavy breathing chest and keep going up, taking in his tan neck, and face, his blue eyes staring at me as if seeing through to my soul almost so deeply, I almost get sucked in.
Almost.
"That's it. That's all you've got to say?" Caiden says, his voice had a bit of a biting edge to it and I try not to look away in response.
"What is there to say? We had a one-night stand and never saw each other again. Now you're engaged to my best friend. End of story." I say and lift my chin in confidence.
The breath catches in my throat and my heart halts a split second when Caiden stands straighter and his hands come around to fold into soft fists at his sides. His eyes held an intensity that had me wanting to look away so badly, but somehow I hold my ground and stare back just as boldly.
"Not the end of the story, Raven. I wanted to contact you, I wanted more than a one-night stand, so many nights I couldn't stop thinking about you and-"
"And nothing Caiden. As we could even talk about it. As if could continue or even get to know each other. I came down here to support my best friend and I wasn't expecting you to be her-"
"And you think I was expecting you to be here. I know there aren't a lot of Ravens in this world, but it was a rare chance that it was the same Raven I slept with." Caiden had stepped closer and by the time he was done, he was close enough for me to touch.
But, I did something I wasn't expecting.
I threw the blankets off me and stood up in a huff, throwing my legs over the side and standing right in front of Caiden.
"What is your deal? Why can't you let sleeping bears lie? It happened, it's done, now lets forget about it." I said and took in a deep breath, my heart skipping a beat once I realize our chests are just about touching.
"I can't forget, I've tried to Raven." Caiden whispers out, his breath fanned across my face, making the urge to yank him close unimaginable.
"Don't do this Caiden..." My voice trails off.
My dark brown eyes stare for another moment intensely into his light blue eyes and blink, cutting off the magic of the moment.
Before I did something I would regret, I pull away.
I lean back down and turn my head to make sure I land on the bed, but I am forced to stop in midair. When Caidens arms were really warm wraps around my waist and pulls me toward him.
And by pull, I mean yank.
To stop me from making contact with my bed, this man literally yanks me up off the bed by wrapping his arms around my waist and pulling me straight into his chest.
I gulp and my breathing intensifies, I was just short of hyperventilating as Caidens blue eyes glance down at my lips and our chests make contact.
Caiden leans down, dips his head low and stops just short of our lips connecting. Our lips touch in just the slightest and his tongue comes out to playfully run along my bottom lip before pulling away and grinning once more.
"I couldn't stop even if I wanted to." Caiden whispers, making me let out a small gasp.
The sheer amount of desire behind his words had my insides twisting and my own wants starting up.
Caiden's voice had dropped a few octaves lower and held a sugary note to it that drove my heart into a rapid stage. beating wildly once again but worse now more than ever.
Caiden leans forward and seals our lips in a kiss that had my knees weak and my arms wound around his neck immediately. Our lips dance in a heated battle as our hands went in each other's hair.
Caiden abruptly pulls away before we could get too heated and breathes heavily, holding his hands in my hair, tightly and staring into my eyes.
I couldn't process anything that just happened, my mind almost completely blank and my breathing erratic, the only thing that was on my mind was pulling Caiden back to me and that's exactly what I tried to do.
Caiden chuckles and grabs my hands in midair going around his neck to pull him back to me.
"We probably shouldn't. There are people everywhere all over this cabin. Marley sent me up here to come get you."
At the mention of my best friend, my mind sobered up and I pull away, almost repulsed by my actions.
"I'll see you down there Raven." Caiden says, his face is closed, his eyes showing nothing as he ducks his head and walks out of the room without saying another word.
I was completely speechless, not knowing what to say, think or do really.
My heart was in overdrive as conflicting feelings and thoughts ran through me. I was a completely rattled mess, just staring at the doorway of my new summer room, where Caiden's back was moments ago.
I just made out with Caiden, the man I had a one-night stand with and my best friend's fiance.
Well...
I'm fucked.
