Chapter 12 - Despair

Author's note: sorry for the delay, but here's a new chapter :)

"I'm already stopping for the sixth time to rest," I thought, sitting on a branch in a snowy forest. I looked around my surroundings and saw many animals. I heard the birds singing and wanted to relax, but refused because of the danger of being caught. "Every 20 minutes I had to rest and besides, after all the battles I use up my stamina, and the healing deer were the most annoying."

Not that they are strong, but because of their healing magic, these deer have become formidable enemies. "To think just five of them might push me back," I concluded in my mind, and unconsciously shifted my gaze to an icy clearing where there were ten or so healing deer.

The deer divided into several circles: in the inner circle there are deer cubs that are safely chewing some grass, although we are in a snowy forest, on the second circle there were older individuals and they are already watching the environment and for every rustle in the bushes or behind a tree they are intently look there and their horns shone with a soft light. Outwardly, deer are no different from ordinary ones, but with strangeness. They have big horns, almost 2.5 meters!

At first I was a little afraid of them because of these horns, but then I found out that they almost never use them in battle. "But their healing magic is not weak either, as it can weaken the body, and it seems that this magic is not meant to kill, but only to escape." The first time I encountered two deer and I could only kill one because they threw white balls at me and as soon as they come into contact with my body in that place I get weak.

"But the deer was tasty and worth the effort!" I turned gaze to a neighboring tree and saw a squirrel in the hollow. Noticing my look, the squirrel quickly hid in its hollow. I just shrugged my shoulders and checked my condition. "The mana in the core is a little more than half, and the wings are almost rested ... Hmm, it's already starting to get dark, it's not good," I thought, and finally began to stir.

"Ugh, need to warm up~" she said in her emotionless voice. Every time I take a break, I talk a little. I don't know the reason, but it helps me relieve a little fatigue.

- It's time to fly - I repeated to myself and then took off. In the next 15-20 minutes, I looked around my surroundings, as the animals here are stronger than the boar that I first killed. "There is an hour or an hour and a half left to the foot of the mountain," I analyzed my surroundings. I was sitting on a branch of some tree and watched the sun look like a red hot ball against the orange sky.

"beautiful" is the only word I can think of. "Can I get some sleep? No, I don't know how long I will sleep or until some strong beast eats me" because for some reason some "weak" beasts ran away at the sight of me, which interested me very much and this intimidation made me a little arrogant . But one "good" bear quickly returned me from heaven to earth and forced me to quickly run away from him.

"Hmm, he can only intimidate the weak, but I will become stronger and take revenge on him in a special manner," I said in a strange tone and a glint in my eyes, but did not pay attention to it. After resting, I decided that it was time to eat. "Yes, I decided that I need to eat, even if I'm not hungry, but what will you do to me. Oh, who I say this to, it doesn't matter," quickly brainstormed and began to track down her victim. After a couple of minutes, I found my "delicacy".

"Here is my sweet ice wolf~" I said in a strange tone, but soon became serious. Although I call them that, they are very dangerous, I was just lucky that when I first found such a wolf, he was covered in wounds and almost exhausted. Thus the battle was already over in my favor. Even in a wounded state, he showed a worthy fight, which touched me deeply. "I'd better strike first," I thought, and I was already ten meters away from him, but he smelled me and tensed up and began to form some kind of clots of ice. I accelerated and after ten seconds I started to slow down because of these balls that, when they explode, freeze everything within 30 centimeters. "I've already seen this.

Will you show me something new? I thought and jumped down onto the snow, but immediately dodged the ice balls.

I had been covered with ice for a long time and was not afraid of his magic, but he could use it to block the view and strike with his claws shining in the setting sun or bite me. Yes, I learned the hard way about his attacks. * ice spear * I cast a spell and a second later a simple spear without any decorations appeared in my hand. I began to cut through the ice balls that were flying in my direction. It didn't always work out, but I progressed very quickly. From time to time I had to either take a hit or dodge, but then the unexpected happened.

Pieces of ice began to grow on the wolf's fur and after ten seconds they reached five centimeters, while they looked very menacing. "That's something new!" I screamed, and my strange arousal grew even stronger. A second later, several of these icicles flew at me and they were faster than balls. "Wow, almost twice as fast as the ball!" I exclaimed and tried to dodge, but one of the icicles hit me right in the face. It didn't do much damage, but it blocked my vision and then after a couple of seconds, I sensed danger. "He's attacking!" I thought with unnatural calm.

*ice dagger* I screamed in my mind. The end of a spear with an elongated tip immediately formed and I slashed in the direction of danger. I heard the moan of a wolf and I finally regained my sight. I looked at him and saw his long wound right on his neck. I took advantage of this opportunity and threw a spear at his head, but he, sensing danger, was able to dodge, but that's what I needed.

I predicted his direction and inflicted four deep wounds. From which he growled and tried to hit me with his claws, but I moved away in time and began to wait. "The most dangerous animal is the one that is driven into a corner," I thought, and began to stare at the wolf and prepared an ice spear in advance. After a couple of minutes, the wolf stopped moving, but before he died, he strongly resisted and even cut my hands several times.

- Wow, it was difficult, but I managed to fill up this big guy. I got stronger! I exclaimed with my emotionless tone.

Then I approached the deceased ice wolf and began to butcher him as usual. I've cut my own food a few times already, so I've had some experience with it. After eating some meat, I moved on to the most delicious!

- Yes, here it is, my sweets ~ I said in a playful tone and bit off a piece of my heart and just melted. "Such a soft texture and it slowly melts on my tongue," I thought, and my eyes glistened a little, but I didn't notice it. After about two minutes, I ate the heart, and then abruptly flew into a tree. As I landed, I thought "probably our battle attracted someone" and scanned the forest for any danger. But after a couple of minutes, I finally looked at the most long-awaited treasure and this is the ice core of this wolf!

Outwardly, it looked like a small pearl of the color of the sky, and it gently pulsated in my palm. She also gave off a slight chill, but it didn't hit me at all. "Well, bon appetit!" With these thoughts, I swallowed this core. It's hard to describe, but I got a huge ecstasy, even more than eating the hearts of my enemies. I stayed in this ecstasy for almost five minutes, but I would have stayed in it even more if I hadn't thought "why is it so quiet in the forest?" And this alerted me, but after a moment I felt the aura of imminent death.

- Who are you? asked the owner of this powerful aura.
