Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: the big boom

When I turned around smiling standing at the bottom of the stairs was Layla she was white-faced shocked like she couldn't believe what just happened and like everything was too much for her to handle her legs gave out under her but before she could hit the ground I shadow walked and cot her and land her against me as we sat down Layla looked up to me slowly saying in a weak voice said your anger how could you have possibly control that much anger I didn't even know your anger was more than mine I side hearing her words I slowly answered her thinking about what I should say Layla, first of all, yes my anger is bigger than ours so much that my vision goes red but I have learned how to control it over time my anger is like the deepest parts of the sea it's cold and overwhelming unlike yours which is like a burning fire which consumes everything it sees so what works for me won't work for you I had to learn how to control my anger do to living a very hard life and getting into a lots of fights you won't be able to is my way nore would I want you to ever go through what I have but I can help you with where to look she listened to every word not interrupting me and letting me explain I nodded at her willing to the listen first step of controlling anger is looking into your self and talk to your dark side some people call it your dark side some call it your heart demon but I just call it your other half cuz it is you but also not you will see when you confront yours but I warn you that it will try and take control when you do this some people lock there other half deep willing to help me I shrugged helping her up saying I ant really helping you I am just showing you the way what you do after that is up to you but know I will go shower you should do the same cuz we got a big day tomorrow and we will need to help these people get to camp after that they ant my problem Layla shook her head saying that maybe true for these people but not for Silvanus and them people they will be your I smiled evilly saying nope are deal was I would save her husband and being her and whoever follows her to there people so they could live in a place that values them and where Silvanus and her husband can raise there child in a place that not only looks after are own but also will help them that's as far as my kindness goes and I turned away walking up they stairs besides they have information on are enemy and if push comes to shove I am willing to use them as hostages but we will see what the fates have in store for them and with that last part I want to the shower and got my self cleaned off after that I feel asleep again outside looking up at the stars funny enough Layla came out and slept with me saying she didn't want to be around Flare for a bit and she thought I could use the company so we sat there cuddling under the stars soon after that I feel asleep and it was peaceful but what's the old saying all good things must come to a end I was just floating in darkness when I felt a presents enter my conscience and it didn't feel good but it also didn't feel bad I could feel it looking me over like one looks at merchandise and after a while of just silence I heard a ruff deep voice finally say kid I don't know if your crazy or a damn fool for getting with one of my daughters but I do got to respect your veracity and your willingness to train even when your dead tired you always seek to improve your self and besides he let out a deep little chuckle you won her heart so you must got some skill so good luck kid you will need it and with that, the presents I felt was gone and I woke up the sun was about to rise above the trees and mountains Layla's head was resting on my chest still asleep I smiled at her cute face I slowly sat up trying not to wake her but when she felt even a little move from me she wrapped her arms around me and in a sleepy voice said no bad pillow no moving I chuckled and I whispered in her ear saying you're so cute but the sun is coming up so time to get up cutie and I bit her ear she mownd in both pleasure and not wanting to get up but after a few minutes want by she slowly sat up rubbing her eyes as she was doing that her hat feel off and her short spiky red hair shined in the morning light she looked at me saying good morning Hunter I smiled saying good morning beautiful she shook her head saying none of that to early to handle you I chuckled and we sat there resting against a tree Layla and I holding hands and Layla resting her head on my shoulder and I resting my head on hers watching the sunrise I thought I seem something shiny leading the son but it must have been my imagination it was a beautiful morning Layla and I didn't say anything to each other we just enjoyed the view with each other but after a while I heard people moving and walking out of there houses I some seen us on the hill but none of them cared enough to stare I looked down to Layla my beard which needed a trim rubbing against her head saying Layla I don't mean this in a bad way but I know how self-conscience you are so I will only ask one thing do you want them to see your beauty Layla looked down to her hat which was resting in front of us her hand tightened around mine and then she looked up to me and with a scared but determined look asking only if you will stand by my side I smiled happily saying I would not know where else to stand and I kissed her head but let's stay here for a bit longer she said looking back to the sun I simply nodded minutes passed and we just enjoyed the warmth of the rising sun and each other but after a while I heard two familiar barks and running up to us was Daisy he ran up the hill and jumped between Layla and I barking happily Layla and I laughed and started to play and pet him he wagged his tail happily and that is when I asked him, Daisy question bark bark y have you gotten so big bark bark o interesting I said nodding Layla asked what did he say I shrugged saying it's what I thought Daisy is a mix of a hellhound and Cerberus hellhounds eat souls and Cerberus protect the gate of the underworld so Daisy here is literally a portal for the dead to help them go to the other side and the more souls he eats the stronger he gets and the stronger his powers get so there for his body grows to hold that power it make sense knowing what blood runs in him bark bark as he nibbled on my hand I chuckled saying ya ya whatever pup lets get moving we should meet up with the others ant that right Flare I said looking at a house where Flare was walking from behind I could tell she didn't get much sleep and was probably crying for most of it Layla glared at her but I squeeze her hand and gave her a look and she stopped Daisy just happily barked at Flare who walked up the hill to us I stood up looking at her calmly and like my look held the weight of the world Flare want to her knees bowing her head to me saying I am so sorry Hunter I should have never said those things to you I should have never assumed anything and the fact you showed mercy to them means you're a better man than I but before she could finish I crouched down to her and rested my hand on her shoulder which was shaking and burning hot but I didn't care Flare there's no need to kneel to me i am a simple man look into my eyes and apologize Flare looked up into my eyes and we stood up together I took my hand off her shoulder and she said I am so sorry Hunter I should have never said them things will you forgive me. I could tell she really meant it when she said she was sorry I could see the regret in her eyes I side saying ok Flare I forgive you but know this I will never forget when Flare heard my words her a weight was lifted from her shoulders and I seen that fire in her eyes again thank you Hunter thank you Rocky and Slade are waiting for us should we go I nodded saying we will follow she understood my meaning and Flare walked back down the hill I looked down to Layla who still had a little bit of anger in her eyes watching Flare walk away I moved one hand down to her she took it and I helped her up saying are you ready Layla and I squeezed her hand reassuringly Layla took a deep breath and nodded lets go and we walked down the hill hand in hand with Daisy following us we walked throw the streets when people seen us they got out of our way some started at us some started at Layla some even started at Daisy but I glared at all those who started at Layla when Layla seen what I was doing she laughed and like a weight was off her shoulder she kissed my cheek and wrapped her arm around mine still holding hands we were just closer I smiled happily that she got some confidence we walked to the planning building when we walked in Slade, Flare and Rocky was already sitting we took our seats still holding hands Slade spoke right when we sat down saying we are ready to leave we will be leaving in about 10 minutes if that Silvanus lass ant ready we won't wait for them if that ok with you Pup I nodded saying if she ant there then that means she broke her promise and her word that means it's not my problem Slade nodded 10 minutes passed fast we helped people pack less minutes stuff into there vehicles hell some cars needed to get jumped cuz there battery was dead or some needed gas luckily we had plenty of gas and tools to fix any problems and by the time we opened the gates Rocky and Flare was leading the line of vehicles Rocky had a huge black jacked up truck with flames on the side Flare was sitting next to him smiling his truck was definitely souped up it even had huge mud tires there stuff was strapped down to the bed of the truck Slade stood on the wall on his black Pegasus looking down at everyone Layla and I was on my motorcycle driving next to Rocky's truck when we drove through the gates Rocky and I had to stop cuz blocking the way was a few other vehicles and stepping out of the one in the middle was Silvanus and her husband I smiled and drove up to them saying well you didn't break your promise is this all I asked looking at the others Silvanus nodded sadly but her husband answered yea the rest have run away so we won't need to worry about them I looked at him saying never did get your name man he smiled saying I am called Frodo Heartstar thank you for saving me I didn't show any emotion on my face but my eyes were cold I didn't do it for you I said looking back to Silvanus your group take the back I assume you all know how to fight if any of your group doesn't then put them more to the middle that goes for children and pregnant and when I said that last word I gave Froto a criticizing don't make trouble with the others and if you need gas or repairs simple ask we won't be stopping so keep up and with that I drove back to rocky and our trip back to camp started I lead this convoy we took the back roads like we did before Slade watching and guiding from the sky most monsters could smell all of us but none of them attacked knowing it would be suicide as for the people most of them was fine and didn't complain but some did Silvanus people didn't cause any trouble for us and even helped a few times when a few cars broke down or if people needed food or water since they had plenty left over many camp members didn't expect their kindness at first but after a while, everyone started to warm up to each other we was on our first night Layla was holding Daisy in her arms slumped against my back asleep we just hit the border of Montana the trees got smaller and more spread out there were even some open fields my bikes light shined the path ahead when I heard Daisy bark I slid on the gravel coming to a stop luckily everyone put a little distance between each other or I would have been smashed my rocky's truck Daisy moved out of Layla's arms and moved in front of me sniffing the air and looking around Layla was up I was looking from side to side I smelled something to I smelled blood I kicked the kickstand out and got off my bike looking around one hand was in my pocket and the other was on one of my revolvers I looked in the ditch on the left side of the road and using my dark site I scanned the grass and I seem a day old blood drag marks it lead into the woods I felt eyes on me and behind me I felt a cold feeling I turned around to see a white deer skull at eye level with me it's eye homes had two glowing fire balls it's horned were decorated with shiny strings and on theses strings was many different things like teeth from wolf's, some lucky rocks and shiny stones, plus feathers it was quite beautiful in a dark monstrous way it had on black and purple robes which looked expensive and in his hand was a cain that had a dark green gem at the top of it we stared at each other for a few seconds when Layla was about lunge at this monster but I said stop do not move or do anything if you do we will all be killed Layla was shocked but listened to me so did Rocky and Flare who was looking out there windows about to do something this monster was called wendigo many different religions and legends from the old days speak of the wendigo but all of them are different in many different ways but they have one thing in common what they look like and how brutal they can be if angered the fact that this wendigo hasn't attacked on site means it either wants something or it's curious about something hell it could even be it just wants to talk to someone when the wendigo heard my words it laughed saying o so you know what I am good that makes this easier sun of purple and white I got a favor to ask you I raced a eyebrow saying a favor what could a mear demigod do compare to a mighty creature such as yourself he chuckled saying you're good with words young one you are right I could do this myself but thin I heard a Boom and I heard a whistling niece I pushed the skull bracelet and it turned into a shield I lifted it protecting this Wendigo from getting a bullet in the head the bullet deflected off my shield luckily this shield was make with Hela powers or that bullet from a rifle would have gone right through it I looked to see where the bullet came from and I seen in a tree was a person in a gilly suit holding a built action rifle in his hands he was about 400 year's out dead or alive I asked the Wendigo he shrugged up to you he said good I said as I stepped into the shadows I appeared behind this person on the tree my revolver was already in my hand the person didn't even have time to register anything when my hammer dropped and a bullet flew through his head before his rifle could hit the ground I cot it and I grabbed the body and I shadow walked again back in front of the Wendigo I dropped the body at it's feet saying I assume that is what you wanted the wendigo didn't say anything he just stared at the body after a few seconds he looked up to me saying sort of but with this my favor is complete you may move throw my woods anytime young half blood and when he said that his cain started to glow green and shooting out from that gem was a green beam it hit me in the four arm when this beam hit me it didn't hurt no it felt warm when the beam hit my arm that green light was gone so was the Wendigo and the body Layla, Rocky, and Flare walked up to me confusion written all over there face Layla asked Hunter what just happened to be honest yall I truly don't know my self all I know is what triple P, brother K and Yang told me and that's not much they told me what a Wendigo was and how terrifying they can be but also they are protectors of the forest I truly don't know any more than that I looked down to my left forearm where that green beam hit me and what I saw was shocking where that green beam hit me was a huge tree with the infinity symbol in the middle of it the leaves on the tree skinned like gems man thank gods I ant one of those people who hate tattoos or I would be screwed when I said that thunderstruck I looked up to the dark sky saying yeah yeah whatever thunder struck again time with more power I rolled my eyes walking back to my bike saying let's get moving again I slung the rifle over my shoulder Layla got on behind me Daisy moved to her lap and we started to move again two days and night passed like that nothing else interesting happened we was about to camp it was a normal day but it was about to get fun Slade dived down next to me saying there is one helicopter heading are way and it gots machine guns and rockets on it my face want white shit shit ok I slowed down next to Rocky so did Slade we told them what was coming our way I side saying Layla take Daisy and jump in the back of Rocks truck Layla looked to me saying what will you do I side saying you all will hide I will lead the helicopter away when it's chasing me you all gun it for camp Layla was about to protest but I cut her of saying I will be fine out of all of us I have the best chance to live know go Layla glared at me but jumped in the back of Rockys truck but Daisy didn't go he moved in front of me dark dark I side saying fine and I picked up speed leading away from the group which was under tree I sped across open roads I hear the helicopter know it was gaining distanced on us I looked down to the bike saying ok girl let's see what you really got the bike motor roared happily speeding up we was going faster and faster to the point I could only see shapes and color pass me by but I hear something that any gun nut would know the sound of a many gun spening and about to let loose o shit I said starting to serpentine and from behind me I heard ratttata and bullets started to rain down around me dirt hitting me on all sides but I didn't stop moving after a few seconds of there machine gun raining down lead it stopped I did something only a crazy person would do I slid to the side stopping myself I was looking at this helicopter I could see the pilot and copilot both of them was in military uniforms but I didn't care the helicopter stopped moving forward at me and I heard a speaker turn on and from this speaker I heard a female voice saying Hunter Nekros stop resisting if you step off your bike and lay down all your weapons you don't got to die but I promise you if you don't you will be killing yourself do you really want to cut your young life short I simple looked at this helicopter unmoving but more importantly I looked past this helicopter to see my convoy driving passed the camps tree line when I saw that a let out a happy si and I looked back to this helicopter and I blinked and my eyes started to glow bright green and I gave them the biggest and the most craziest grin as I raised my middle finger yelling fuck that and fuck you death doesn't scare me no this is to exciting honestly I live for this shit and when I said that last part my hand want back down to my handle bars and I revved my engine spinning my back tire but I didn't release the brake yet I heard a sad exasperated si come from the speaker and it turned off after that but what replaced it was the sound of a mini gun spinning I replaced my brake when I did I shot fowered right as the bullets started to fall rattatatttaa bullets hit feel all around me but I serpentined moving from side to side Daisy barked happily as for me that crazy grin was still on my face my eyes like little green fireballs but then I heard it the wosh of rockets flying at me but I didn't looked worried no I looked happy and I started to laugh crazily as I sped up my coat moving behind me cuz of the wind and my hair was going crazy the first rocket hit behind me it shook the ground throwing up dirt, rocks and dust by the time the third rocket hit the ground I was completely obscured cuz of the dust and when the fourth and final rocket hit the ground the helicopter stopped shooting either cuz they thought they got me or they didn't want to waste any more ammo on shooting a target you can't see as for me I could not see shit luckily I had my valuable detection on and that helicopter was definitely valuable I shot out of the dust cloud doing a willy and in my right hand was my sickle sword the edge of it was glowing black I shot under the helicopter they was close enough to the ground I had to duck when I want under it as I got to the tail I swung and cut the tail off as I dodged the tail blade I didn't look back to see what happened but I heard a huge boom behind me it shook the ground I put away my sickle sword and I want back to camp that crazy smile still on my face but my eyes stopped glowing.
