Once it became night, sure enough Viree turned into a werewolf. She seemed less scruffy than before though. Perhaps that was due to no longer being imprisoned in the sewers though. I stared at her and she just tilted her head at me in return. It seems she was refusing to speak to me.
The silver and harness fit around her perfectly. Thankfully I thought about making it adjustable. I analyzed her. She actually seemed to change a bit from when we first met. She had a lot more fur and it was thicker too. She also resembled more of a wolf than the monster most werewolves resembled.
I held out a hand, "Paw?"
She stared a little and then huffed holding her hand up. I looked it over feeling it over. Interestingly Viree was wagging her tail. It seemed she liked the hand holding. I went back to inspecting her and found her paws had a very, very light texture to it. The bone structure was actually similar to a racoon's paw. That explained a lot about werewolves.
I grabbed her head and looked over her collar. Viree's ears perked up and she finally decided to speak. "Wh-What are you doing?"
Her voice was more raspy than normal. I gave a laugh, "So you are gonna talk to me?"
She appear to frown, "Why should I talk to someone who treats me like a mount, I'm a werewolf not a horse."
I smirked, "So you refuse to speak as if you are a pet wolf?"
She huffed and laid down, "Just get on my back and get this over with."
I shrugged and got in position. The harness worked as planned on my side. "No discomfort?"
She huffed, "This is humilating."
I laughed a little. "Get going."
Viree started moving, but she asked. "Where are we going?"
I held the harness and hung onto Viree. The ride itself was not as smooth as I thought. This form of travel would only be of use when Viree masters her transformation and we needed to travel far, fast.
I explained, "You are going to Snowpoint Beacon. That's the meeting place we need to go to. I will be stopping at Dawnstar to buy supplies. I have a feeling I will need them, I also want to see if the Khajiit Caravan is there."
Viree barked, "And the person we are meeting? I'm kind of a werewolf?"
I had to do the math, but I was pretty sure of it. "They should arrive by the day after tomorrow. Meaning you should be there alone for a day. You will need to hunt some food for yourself. I'll warn you now though, Thalmor or Bandits could be there. I'm not keen on the details for once."
The quest might have changed something. Viree asked, "Are you sure about the meeting time?"
I patted her shoulder, "Don't worry about it. Even if you meet them the harness should prove you are innocent enough for them to have a conversation."
Viree huffed another question out as she leaped over a overhang. "What if i transform before you arrive? Won't I freeze to death?"
That was unlikely, but it was a good point. "I'll provide you some supplies. This harness I made is for more than just allowing me to ride on your back."
She growled, and came to a stop. I flung forward and crashed into the snow. I smirked, "That was pretty fun."
She stared down at me, "I expect you to teach me how to read for this... 'service'."
I laughed, and got up. I could see Dawnstar from here. I nodded, "Fine, I was going to make that offer anyway. Though I suspect you knew that?"
She clicked her tongue, the sound made me flinch slightly. As it revealed her teeth much better than her growl. I kept my stance though and scratched Viree under her chin. Her tail started wagging and she slapped my hand away. "Stop that."
I smirked, "Ah, does my good girl not want pets?"
She grumbled and I pulled out the supplies I had planned ahead for. Hooking the bag to the harness I patted Viree on the head. Viree asked, "How do I know where I am going?"
A real compass didn't exist here. Though it would likely just point to the throat of the world. I could see that mountain from here. So I suspect it would have a large enough magnetic pole to interfere with Compasses. So I made an estimate using my Log screen map. "It's about that way past a small fort. Its a single watch tower on a mountain side."
Viree nodded and she began trotting away. I shouted, "Remember to be a good girl!" Messing with Viree has risen on my list to do.
She tripped up and hit the snow face first. I gave a slight smirk and started my march towards Dawnstar. I needed to buy some supplies like rope, always needed more rope. I also thought about buying an amulet of mara and the healing hands from Erandur. However there was a good chance he wasn't there anymore or dead.
I saw tents set up at the edge Dawnstar. I knew it was the Khajiit Caravan. They moved around by month so I was a little worried they were on the move again.
----- A simple in between chapters. Honestly I just didn't want to same oh skip this we traveled stuff. Not as fun to write that out.-----
