Goldie's eyes widen in shock.
'Golden wings!'
Beautiful golden wings were attached to her back!...
She didn't look completely human either with them spread out like that behind her. She looked like a pretty fairy, or something out of a fairy tale. Just, a fairy, wearing a torn Hugher High School varsity jacket.
"…"
Goldie remains speechless. It was surreal. Like everything was just a dream, and she would wake up soon to find it was all not real.
"Do you see this?", her mother's reflection, standing by her in the mirror questions.
"Wow… they are golden. Actual golden wings!…", Goldie mumbles to herself as she stares unblinking at the mirror in disbelief.
Next, she takes her fingers to her arm and pinches hard.
"Ow!", she yells, wincing in the consequential pain.
It wasn't a dream. It was real! Everything was real!
