Alexis laid in her bed facing the ceiling the next morning. It was around 8am and she barely got any sleep. She randomly woke up in the middle of the night and she couldn't stop thinking about everything. The guilt was killing her.
Then she was woken up by a reminder on her phone by 6am. It was a reminder for Noah's birthday, tomorrow. It was definitely coming up at the wrong time.
She hadn't had a lick of sleep since 6am, her eyes had been wide open and she had watched Candace walk around the room, getting ready to go to God knows where.
Around 8:15, Candace finally stepped out of the room and Alexis immediately slipped her phone out from under her pillow.
She dialled Emanie's number and he picked up at the third ring. Of course she waited for Candace to leave the room before she called him.
"Heyyy, good morning" Emanie said immediately he picked up.
"I need to talk to you" Alexis told him.
"No good morning? Ok" Emanie replied
"This is serious"
"Ok, talk"
"No, I need to see you" she told him.
"My house is just ten minutes away" He replied.
"There's no way I'm coming to your house" she said.
"Why?" He questioned. "Are you scared?" He asked. "I mean, after what happened last night, you should..." He was saying.
"Shut up!" She yelled at him and he went silent immediately. She sighed and a tear drop fell.
"So you expect me to come to school on a Sunday?" He questioned after about ten seconds of silence.
"Please" she said softly.
He sighed. "Is something wrong?"
"Yes!" She yelled back. "Everything is wrong!" She added and hot tears ran down her cheeks.
"Alexis are you ok?" He asked, he could tell from her voice that she was crying and you could tell from his voice that he was getting worried.
"No" she replied and she buried her head in her pillow.
She heard Emanie sigh again. "I can't make it to school right now, I have a lot of work to catch up on" he began. "But I have basketball practice by 4pm cuz of the big game coming up next Saturday so I guess you could come over and we can talk" he added. Alexis was still crying into her pillow, she couldn't respond. "Is that ok?" He asked.
"Yeah" she forced herself to day. "See you later" she added.
"Alexis" he called before she could hang up.
"Yeah."
"Please stop crying" he said and she cried even more.
"Hmm mm" she replied and she hung up.

Alexis was woken up by relentless knocking on her door later that day. She barely had three hours of sleep overnight and when she could finally close her eyes again, someone was literally banging on the door.
She groaned and dragged herself off her bed, tired as hell. She finally got to the door and she carefully opened it.
Her tiredness vanished immediately she saw who was at the door.
"What are you doing here?" She asked, her eyes wide open.
"You said you wanted to talk" Emanie replied.
"Yeah, at the basketball court not in my room" she told him.
"Uh, it's 4:30" he began.
'what!?' Alexis thought. She actually slept longer than she thought she did.
"Before the practice started I was waiting for you, after it started I was still waiting. I called you about five times but you weren't picking up so I decided to come here and see what was up" he explained. "Can I come in?" He asked.
"No" she replied sharply.
"Why not?" He questioned.
"Let's go down to the court" she told him.
"Why? I'm here right now, talk to me" he said. "Is this about what happened?" He asked lowering his voice. Alexis just dropped her head and kept mute. "Are you scared?" He questioned but Alexis still didn't respond. "I promise not to do anything if you don't want me to" he added.
Alexis sighed and turned to walk into the room. Emanie followed behind her and as he stepped in, he closed the door behind him, causing Alexis to sharply turn back to face him.
"Please open the door"
"You don't trust me" he began. "I already promised not to do anything" he continued. "The door was wide open last night Alexis" he added and she immediately turned away from him. He walked away from the door, towards her. "Now what did you want to talk to me about?" He asked.
"What happened last night..." She began, turning back to face him. "I don't want it to happen again" she added.
Emanie slipped his hands into his pocket. "Why not?" He asked.
"I'm not comfortable with it" she replied.
He paused to stare at her for about five seconds. "It didn't seem so last night" he said finally.
"Yeah..."
"So what's really going on?" He asked.
"Amarr" she forced herself to say.
"Is he your boyfriend?" He questioned. "Cuz you said he wasn't"
"Yeah, he isn't, at least I don't think he is" he began. "But I like him..." She continued. "And he likes me too. Things are going well between us and I don't want to ruin that" she explained. "I don't want to hurt his feelings"
"You could have said so last night " he said.
"Well I guess I just didn't realize how I felt" she replied.
"So it was just a one night stand then" he said
"Yeah"
"And you're ok with that?" He questioned.
"Yeah" she replied hesitantly.
Well of course she wasn't ok with being a one night stand but what other option did she have?.
"And what are you gonna say when he sees that?" He asked pointing to the hickey on her neck.
"He's not going to see it" she told him.
"But what if he does?" He questioned.
"He won't!" She fired back.
Emanie just gave a silent laugh. "You know, we were just together on the court" he began. "He's literally a machine" he continued. "Tall, super fast and quick with the ball. I wouldn't wanna mess with him" he added and Alexis smiled a little. "I got into a fight with a guy few months ago and he broke my arm" he told her.
"What?!"
"Yeah, it was horrible. I was in excruciating pain" he began.
"What was the fight about?" She asked.
"Something very stupid" he replied. "But it's not over tho" he continued.
"You're still gonna fight back?" She asked
"Of course" he replied "The point is, I don't wanna start anything with Amarr" he told her.
"Ok"
"Are we still gonna be seeing each other tho?" He asked
"Yeah, of course" she replied.
"Ok then..." He began "I gotta get back to practice" he continued. "I guess I'll see you later then" he added and he turned.
"Ok" she replied and he began to walk towards the door. She followed behind him so she could lock the door after he went out.
Emanie grabbed the door handle to open the door and Alexis just stared down at his hand. His veins were visible through his flawless skin and he had his long fingers wrapped around the door handle. She thought of last night and what he did with those fingers. Then she felt heat rise up from her stomach.
It was when she noticed his hesitation to open the door she realized she was staring. Then she raised her head to face him. He was already staring down at her with a smile on his face. He knew what she was staring at and he was fully aware of the reason why she was staring at it.
He silently chuckled as he softly grabbed her shoulder. She looked down at his hand again and he gently pushed her against the door letting his hand slide down to her waist and his other hand running through her hair.
"Is this really over?" He asked but Alexis was still staring down at his hand so he patiently waited for her to look up to face him.
"Yeah" she replied stepping away from the door. She sounded reluctant.
She grabbed the door handle and flung it open.
"Bye" she said and Emanie sighed.
"Bye" he replied right before he stepped out.
Alexis closed the door and turned to walk towards her bed. She sat down to think as she ran her hand through her hair.
'So Dianne hates me, Candace knows about what happened last night, I just admitted to being a one night stand, Noah's birthday is tomorrow and I have a hickey on my neck' she thought' yeah, I'm fucked'
