"Can I stop now, Helix? I can't get it," She cried out. "Try harder! You have to get it!" Helix yelled at her. "Just feel your claws coming out, and you'll get it."
Kristen sat in fear with her hands tied in front of her. She watched Helix torment someone, and she was scared cos it'll be her turn soon. She watched the other girl cry while Helix and the rest of his pack stood there nonchalantly.
She learned that her name was Myra and that she was also turned into a werewolf against her will. Just like herself.
"Get the other one here!" Helix ordered. Her heart sunk. He was talking about her. With her mind running helter-skelter, she didn't realize a pair of arms lifting her off the ground. He threw her over his shoulder to get a good grip on her.
"She's pretty light, Helix," the young man said. "You can take her to your bed after we're done if she's so light." Helix hissed. Otis was his name. The younger brother of Helix and the beta of the pack. He was around Kristen's age. His eyes lit up when he heard what his brother said. He's been eyeing her the whole time and would love to get his hands on her.
He put her down and stepped back for his brother to proceed. Helix cut off the rope that was binding her hands together. She rubbed her wrist while wincing in pain.
"I'm going to teach you how to control your lycan side on a full moon." Helix said. She wanted to just slap him in the face, but she needed his help. No matter what, she was still drawn to him and the pack. She sooner or later has to adapt and stay in the pack.
"You have a wild shift, and we need to change that to a sense shift," Helix said, walking back and forth, towering over her. "What does that mean?" She slowly asked.
"It means we need to turn you from a raging monster to an in control beta she wolf." he explained.
"You need an anchor. Find something that means a lot to you that makes you not wanna shift. Like a... a memory."
"A memory?" she echoed. "Yes, It could be anything, though," He added.
He leaned over and helped her off the ground. He looked at her, and for once, his eyes were gentle. He wasn't looking at her like he wanted to stab her with his eyeballs. Instead, he felt sorry for her.
"Don't stress if you can't do it on the first try. Yours truly didn't get it on his first try either," Helix uttered. She kind of smiled.
He was showing some emotion. Not that it mattered, but at least it meant he wasn't going to be cruel to her.
"Close your eyes," he closed her eyes with his hand. "And find your anchor." He whispered the latter part.
She took a deep breath and tried to do as he said. She tried so hard that her face began to twitch. "Ok, ok, stop now." He snapped. Her eyes flashed open when she heard his voice. He turned around and looked at Otis behind him.
"That's obviously not working." Helix said. "Try the defense technique cos you never know how her shift is influenced." Otis suggested. The defense technique was an old way of teaching young betas how to control their shifts. It was rarely used as the odds of someone shifting in situations of defense was 1 in 100,000.
"We haven't done that in forever. What if we scare her for nothing?" Helix spoke up.
"Since when did you care about scaring her? You literally sunk your claws into her skin with no remorse, and now you're worried you're gonna give her a little scare? You're going soft."
"No the fuck I am not. She is vital to our plan, and I want everything to be full proof, so don't you dare call me soft." Otis lifted his hands up like he surrendered. "Ok, ok. I'll get the rest of the pack." Otis then left, leaving Helix and Kristen alone.
"What's the defense technique?" Kristen asked out of curiosity. "You'll see," he said. "I heard something about me being scared. What was that about?" "Yeah if it works, you're good, but if it doesn't, it's probably gonna scare the living crap out of you, so be ready."
She was now afraid. She broke into cold sweat, and her heart started racing. She then saw a few other pack members arriving. There were four of them. Nyx, who was Helix's younger sister. Aikaterini, Otis, and Calypso. They all looked serious and surrounded her. Kristen frantically looked around.
All of them, including Helix, looked at one another.
Just as she was about to plead with them, she saw their eyes change colors. They bared their fangs, and the claws shot out. They all shifted to full-on lycans. The physical shift.
Kristen felt like she was going to pass away. She hadn't seen them in a physical shift before, and they were terrifying. Helix had blood red eyes as he was the alpha. Otis had blue beta eyes, Nyx had bright gold ones, Aikaterini also had bright gold, and Calypso had blue omega eyes.
They began to "attack her," growling and walking towards.
Were they going to kill her? What kind of training was this?
She got on her knees and hid her face. She was petrified. Helix saw that it wasn't working and they were just gonna make her afraid of them. He was going to shift back to human form, but something caught his eye.
She lifted her head slowly. Her eyes were burning red. They were supposed to be gold like the rest, but they were as red as Helix's. She let out a deafening howl that left the pack perplexed. Her whole body transformed, and she looked just like them. It takes years to master the act of physical shifting. However, she just did it with only a few days of experience.
They all transformed back to naked humans and stared at her.
"What the actual fuck just happened?" Aikaterini asked. Kristen also changed back to human, naked, and looking confused.
