"Something is happening," Helix said. Everyone in the room looked at him. "Where is she?" He asked Otis. "In the room changing. I said that 10 minutes," Otis responded. "Go check in her. She's taking way too long." Helix ordered. Otis got up fast to go make sure she was still there. Obviously, she wasn't. Otis came back with cold sweat on his forehead. They all instantly knew with that look on his face.
"She escaped, didn't she?" Helix asked with anger in his voice. "No, the door is locked. I can't get in." Otis said. "Then break it down, you idiot!!" He yelled. Otis ran back to the door and broke it down only to realize she wasn't there.
He knew Helix would freak out if he found out.
Otis came running back to the group. They all looked at him with anticipation.
"She's gone," he admitted
"You imbecile!" Helix completely lost his cool. "See what happens when I let you do one thing!" He yelled some more.
"I don't see how this is my fault. Was I supposed to stare deep into her soul while she changed?" Otis countered.
"Yes, you were. Very much, so yes,"
"Oh really? She doesn't deserve privacy because she's some slut who doesn't mind people seeing her naked?" Otis spoke back to his brother in a tone he never dared to and so Helix was shocked surprised.
"Are you talking to me in that tone?" he asked. "No, no, no, I'm so sorry for raising my voice at you for the first time in my life because you're such a dick head and you blame me for every single thing!"
"I don't blame you for everything," Helix said.
"Of course you're going to say that. Well, what would I expect from a brother like you," "What is that supposed to mean?"
"It means you're a terrible brother, Helix. You're a very terrible one. Don't you notice that Nyx never comes to talk to you about boy problems or anything like that? It's because she knows you'll judge her and call her weak for letting boy make her cry. You treat us like crap, Helix, and we're your family," Otis said, whatever that was on his mind. He looked at his little sister, and her eyes let him know that she supported him.
Helix looked around, and even though it was completely silent, he could read it like an open book.
Everyone resented him, and it was crystal clear.
"But," Otis spoke again, gaining all the attention. "You're our Alpha, so tell us what we should do,"
He was in awe that Otis still respected him. Of course, he still did. He took care of him and their younger sister when their parents were killed by gods.
"Ok, we need to go find her first before other packs do," Helix said. "Wait, why are we worried about other packs?" Aika asked.
"If they find her before we do, they'll notice she's not a werewolf by birth, so they'll kill her. We can't let that happen. She is too crucial to our plan, and we can not afford to lose her,"
"So where do we start looking?" Otis asked. Helix signaled for them to follow him. Once they were outside, they grasped that she had broken down the barrier, but how?
"How did she figure out how to break the barrier?" Calypso asked.
"I don't know, but she's got to be really damn smart to figure that out in just a short time," Helix answered.
"Let's split up. Aika and Otis, go that way. Calypso and Nyx, that way. I'll stay here just in case she comes back. We'll cover more ground that way," Calypso and Nyx headed east while Otis headed west with Aika. Watching as the rest left to go look for her, Helix was still in shock as to how she did a physical shift with little to no experience.

Running through the cold, dark forest, Kristen was exhausted. She stopped and leaned onto a big tree.
"Where am I even going?" She asked her wolf, panting really loud. She was so out of breath. "You need to find what you're looking for before u stop," Her wolf said. "Why is ur voice so calm? Don't you get tired when I am?" Kristen asked again.
"No. You're the one running right now and not me. Maybe if we switch, u wouldn't be doing all the work,"
"I don't know how to switch on command. I only switched once, and I'm sure it was by accident. Plus, if I somehow managed to switch, I'll be naked after."
"Is that all you're thinking about? Being naked?"
"I don't know about you, but I have a fat bum, and I don't need anyone staring at it."
Kristen could hear her wolf sigh.
"Are you a real person?" Kris suddenly asked.
"No, I'm not. I'm like your subconscious mind,"
"If you're my subconscious mind, how come I can't control what you say?"
"You can't control your subconscious mind. Also, I said, 'Like' cos I'm not exactly your subconscious."
"Oh, ok." Kristen nodded, looking straight up ahead. She looked down but immediately looked up again.
There was a hint of glee in her eyes.
"Wait, wait, wait! I recognize that tree," She hollered. She ran to it.
"U do?" her wolf asked her. "Yes, that night Helix clawed me in the neck. I saw this symbol." She touched the bark of the tree with a grin on her face.
This meant she was really close to freedom. Without wasting much time, she ran in the direction she thought was right.
Truly, the path she took was the right one. In a distance, she could hear water splashing. She then knew she was close to the lake Achilles brought her to. She ran a little more until she saw the opening leading to the lake. Her eyes lit up, and a wide smile crept unto her lips. She was so happy to be free. She was finally free.
"Are we out now?" Her wolf asked. She let out a sigh of relief.
"Yes, yes, we're out. We're really out."
