I bolted straight out my bed as the sound of the alarm clock chimed non-stop in my ears. Carelessly throwing away the duvet that was covering just my legs now, I fist bumped with a silent "yes." I had successfully managed to wake up from the alarm two days in a row.
Without further ado, I scurried off to the bathroom to clean, donned a peach flannel turtle neck shirt with a short flay back skirt. Deciding to leave my dark curls down rather than the usual ponytails, I hurried downstairs and swiftly took a right turn into the kitchen.
"Mum, what's for breakfast? Something that I can eat in like...say five minutes?"
She was pouring herself some cereal in a ceramic bowl on the counter and staggered a bit in shock when she heard my voice. "Jenny this is very early and I've not prepared anything yet. What's with you and waking up early these days? It's not even almost time for school yet. Y'know Jake came yesterday but you were already gone. Are you perhaps avoiding him again?
I wish.
