As the people were busy finishing the soldiers up. Icarus left them to their own devices and planned to leave them and continue his journey.
But before he left Icarus looked deeply at the Green witch before urging his horse to move. The last thing Icarus Saw from those large Green eyes was a silver sheen passing over her eyes.
'Heh. Who are you, girl?'
——————————————————————————
Icarus sighed as he boarded the ship.
it's been a few days since he had encountered the...bandits?— yea, lets go with that— And well.. perhaps the people who pointed him to this port didn't say it but the port is close to Athens. It's about 10 kilometers distance if he calculated correctly— If he's correct then this is the [Piraeus] port— That's why he's hiding behind a glamour. Nothing much, he just changed the color of this eyes and hid the bow he's holding. Brown hair is rather common here so he didn't hide that or change the color of it.
Kyrillos gave him a few drachmas[1] to use if he ever needed them. Gods be gracious because without them he wouldn't board the ship. Although some may say 'if you're good at illusions, then why don't you just get in the ship without paying?' Well, my dear padawan, if you want to be struck by lightning then please go ahead. Of course this may be all in Icarus's head but he doesn't want to risk it. The Gods are fickle being who often have a flight of fancy.
Anyway, he digress.
Mount Caucasus of isn't very far from here, so it'll be two to three days tops to get there. That is if something doesn't happen along the way. ——————————————————————————
The voyage was a long one, it really didn't help that the crew mates were always drunk, singing songs all day and to night ends. Icarus officially hate ships, they aren't worth all the tiredness he's feeling right now. It also doesn't help that the ships of this time doesn't have cabins or something to comfort passengers.
'Sigh'
Thankfully, he arrived at his destination.
Icarus streched and yawned. Damn, if I knew that riding on a ship is this tiring, I would've chose it.
Icarus starts walking, passing all the merchants that sell spices or trading fishes, ignoring their calls.
Although Icarus is tired, he can't help but to feel excited to see Prometheus. This will be the first time he will see a Titan. Beings so tall and gigantic that they dwarf even the tallest mountains, Beings with unimaginable power.
Mount Caucasus isn't huge, so it takes little time to climb it and reach the peak.
From where Icarus is he can see the silhouette of a person —The titan— chained on the rock in the setting sun.
he can't help but feel his breath hitch and his fingers tremble. He's currently feeling so many emotions that he don't know—cant identify— which one he's actually feeling.
This is it.
he will meet a Being that bleeds Ichor instead of blood, he will meet a Being that is absolutely Divine. Icarus can feel his hands shaking with excitement and anxiety. This is it!
He took a deep breath, smoothing his chiton out and arranging his long brown hair neatly. This is it, Icarus. Keep calm and don't behave like a buffon!
Icarus took a step forward and— an eagle cry resounded in the area and with that fear, terror cut deep inside him.
he took two steps back, with the intention to leave this place behind. he almost forgot about Zeus! fuck! Icarus can feel chill settle around him, like something's watching him. 'H-Hey now, l- let's just leave quietly'
Icarus, you fuck head! you just couldn't go a day without fucking up, do you?!
Icarus is deeply afraid. There's little that can have the honour to scare him that much nowadays, Icarus doesn't even fear death. he even crave it—althou he's beginning to grow out of that phase— but there's one thing he fears— being cursed.
I mean who doesn't? Midas, The king of Phrygia who was cursed to turn anything he touches into gold. Or the poor sod who was cursed to always be hungry by Demeter. Or how about Medusa? oh dear God,Medusa — Icarus bleeding heart immediately tremble at the injustice the gods, Athena in particular, dealt to Medusa—
No. Icarus doesn't desire to be cursed. Not now, not ever. Icarus turn back and sneakily trying to leave Mount Caucasus, he didn't get far before a crisp, mature voice full of allure and charm immediately called out.
"There's nothing to fear, Child Of Nothiness."
Icarus stopped dead in his tracks. Cold sweat building on his brows, he gulped feeling the stare of the Titan — unconsciously, he didn't question about the titan tittle for him. It'll cost him in the future. But not now..not now.
Icarus can feel his blood rushing in his head making him feint, he feels like the world suddenly started rotating at a rapid pace. His hands trembled, turning oh so slowly.
"Come closer, son."
Icarus struggled to just say fuck it and high tail from there. But Prometheus is a Titan, a diven being he doesn't want to be cursed. No matter how childish or how irrational his fears are, one should know that Gods are irrational too. Just look at Medea and Jason, they're just cursed because a certain god wanted to see romance between them. A certain Goddess wanted to see a sad, tragic love story...and so she cursed Jason and Medea to fall in love.
Icarus walked closer to the Titan, taking his sweet time as he does so. Only when he's literally next to the Titan did he just flop down like he's boneless, he's expression was blank.
"You shouldn't worry too much. Zeus eagle won't come today."
Prometheus voice was so..calm and so full of wisdom. If Icarus haven't heard the Eagle earlier, he might've believed him. But as things stand—
Icarus looked at Prometheus and nodded.
Truthfully if he was a certain half human giant that was the son of Zeus, he may have shot the eagle down. But Icarus isn't the son of Zeus, he doesn't know if he dared to do something like that Zeus won't notice him and curse him.
"What made you to seek me out, child?"
Prometheus, The Titan that created humanity. The Titan that hold so much Love for humanity that he is willing to be imprisoned just so his children can evolve, so his children won't die when winter came knocking.
Icarus adore him for that. As a father, Icarus himself understand the duty of a father, The duty to make all your children happy, cared for and well fed. Icarus knows the duty more than anymore.
"Honestly? I-I don't know." Icarus answered, suddenly feeling insecure.
Prometheus looked at him Suprised.. "You.. You don't want to be a hero? Many of my children seek me out when they want advice on how to be a hero."
" Hero?" Icarus chuckled " unfortunately, I don't want to be one.I don't need such thing."
" Then, you want richness? women? power? wisdom? What do you want, child."
Icarus still shook his head. he closed his eyes and sighed. does he want to be rich? does he want women? a big harem of fair women? what about wisdom?—
"Irrelevant. I desire neither of those things. I-I desire nothing, I-I just want to live. Stationary. I want to enjoy life without the trouble of Gods and Monster's." Icarus suprised himself with that revelation. Icarus isn't an easy person to get along with but his desires are easy, he just want to live without the fear of Gods. That's all.
Icarus heard Prometheus mutter about 'stationary' and 'Life free of troubles' before he looked at him and answered.
Prometheus looked at him in Suprise and shock. Probably because he's the — according to him— first person to request that.
"Your.. desires aren't easy, child. If you wanted to be a hero, I can't point you the way to it. Anyway Hecate, Chiron and Hephaestus can help you with that."
"S-so it's possible?"
" Yes, it's possible but it'll be hard to achieve."
Icarus doesn't care about that, if he can live a life where God's don't bother him then that'll be grand. Forget about curses, monsters and pettiness of Gods he'll be free! Icarus felt excitement pour in his heart with a surging wave of emotions.
Fuck that. Goodbye fear of Gods!
"As long as it's possible then I'll achieve it!" Icarus said that with steely determination.
"Anyway, thank you! I shall go now!"
Next stop, Mount Pelion!
—————————————————————————
Prometheus just looked at the child walking away excitingly and chuckled.
"Such a sullen child, won't you agree—Zeus?" Prometheus said that but didn't tear his gaze away from the child that was now humming.
An eagle peached up from one of the trees swept down and transformed into Zeus. A man with huge white beard, electrifying blue eyes and huge constitution wearing a one armed chiton and with a belt around his waist.
"Why did you point him into that path?" Zeus questioned.
"As much as I dislike it— the Mortal world will be torn apart if there's no linchpin. And as the Father of humanity, I can't have that." Prometheus said with a suprising venom in his tone.
Zeus laughed boisterously and said " After centuries, this is how you learn your lesson? mayhaps I may release you someday."
Prometheus didn't grace him with a response.
"You pity him for the burden he will shoulder, do you?" Zeus questioned Prometheus with redicule in his voice.
"In the end, I can't help but take pity on him. He's a hollow soul after all."
Prometheus answered.
A person that seek glory can be advised but a person that doesn't have any Desires? that is tough.. Hopefully, the child—Icarus— won't hate him when he changed into a monster that Prometheus helped create.
