(Ravine POV)
"So I heard you are a scholar?" Ms. Beverly, the principal is interviewing me right now in her office.
"Yes, ma'am. Um, not to brag or anything but I finished my last three years on top of my batch in my previous school."
"Yes, I know. It's in your school record." She smiled. Why is she so pleasant?
"I have been asking some of your teachers regarding your performance so far and they said you were doing really well."
"I'm glad to hear that." I responded.
"Ms. Monica told me that you have potential and great enthusiasm for writing."
"I really do. I like expressing my ideas and giving my personal views on cultural and social issues."
"You know, we have a writer's club in the university if you're interested."
My jaw dropped when I heard that. I nearly jumped in excitement because I know how interested I am in writing articles regarding education, environment, justice system and more. I can easily expound and articulate my thoughts on paper.
"You have that here?"
"Of course, this is Waldorf. We have everything. It's on the second floor, room 4C. Just so you know, there is always a monthly release of school paper and they are writing about numerous topics like pop culture, politics, and sports. Some students or awardees can even get featured on the school paper but the writers have to take the initiative to interview them first about their journey on how they earned that award or how they had overcome an obstacle. They could be an athlete, they could be an honor student, and they could be a scholar like you."
"I feel like I want to give it a try." I said.
"You should. You can go right now if you want so you can sign up already."
"Thanks, Ms. Beverly! It was nice chatting with you." I said.
"You're welcome, sweetheart. I'll have my eye on you. Be careful, okay? "
"Yes, ma'am!"
That's weird. Why is she awfully nice to me anyway? Did I do something?
I exited the office while Frida was outside, waiting for me.
"What took you so long?"
"Frida, listen, there's a writer's club here. It's on the second floor, room 4C." I said.
"No way!!"
"Come on, let's sign up."
-----
"Good morning everyone, I'm Ned! I'm the president of the writer's club here in Waldorf University. We have plenty of newcomers here so let me just summarize what this club is about. Writer's club aims to harness students' talent and raw potential when it comes to writing. This can also serve as a strong foundation for our future journalists here in this room. The goal of this club is not only to entice and enlighten students but also to reach out and educate the general public. That's why we have our own website so our audience will not only be limited to students."
Oh my gosh! How exciting.
"The school paper always consists of news, opinion, sports, science and technology, lifestyle, culture and arts. So those are the categories, it's your choice whichever you want to select and write about." Ned said.
I immediately knew what I am going to write about.
"There's also a twist. Some of you might not know this yet but the student with the best article will have the opportunity to receive an award on stage."
Yay!
"Any questions?"
I raised my hand.
"Yes, sir!"
"Can I do culture?" I asked.
"I will take note of that."
"Thank you."
I will definitely write about my hometown and what it's like growing up in Winstead.

(J.J. POV)
"Rosa!" I called.
"Yes, J.J.?"
"My arms are a little sore from weightlifting. I need an omega to drive me to Marco's house."
"Hold on, let me call someone."
I waited for Rosa to come back with an omega. After a while, she came back inside with Ned following behind her.
"Hey Ned." I said as I tossed him the keys.
"Hey future Alpha." He greeted.
We both rushed outside the house and made our way to the garage. I went to the passenger seat while he went to the driver seat. He inserted the keys and started the ignition. With that, he drove away.
"How are you doing, Ned?"
"I'm fine, future Alpha."
"How's writer's club?"
"We have a lot of scholars there. You should visit sometimes."
"I'll be happy to."
Ned has always been good to me. I have even known him longer than Marco to be quite honest. He's one of my closest childhood friends. Even though he's just an omega, I never treated him and his family differently. He was always there when I need him and I was always there when he needs me.
"You found your mate yet?" I asked.
"Not yet. How about you?" He said.
"I already did."
"Really? Who's the lucky one? Is it Anya?" He asked.
"Someone special for sure." I responded.
"That's great. Congratulations."
