Chapter 10 - Chapter 9: The reunion

(Ravine POV)

I was opening my locker to retrieve my books for my class. As soon as I opened it, they all fell on the floor.

I grunted before deciding to pick them up but before I can even bend down, somebody else picked them up for me. He has a curly hair, he has a slightly tanned complexion and then it hit me. I immediately knew who it was. It's him and he's in front of me now, helping me pick up my books.

It's the strange boy.

"Hey!" He smiled as he stood up and gave me my books.

"Hi!" I was smiling from ear to ear because I couldn't believe it. We finally met.

"I guess you're not a ghost after all." I said, referring to what Frida always used to say about him.

"I certainly am not a ghost…but I am a wolf."

"What?"

"Nah, I'm just messing with you." He said.

"I'm Ravine." I said.

"I'm Johan, just call me J.J." He said.

"Alright, J.J."

"Where are you headed?" He asked.

"To my first class." I said.

"Do you mind if I walk with you?"

"Not at all."

"Great."

With that, we both walked together. I realized I am finally with him so I did something that I should have done a long time ago.

"Since I did not get to thank you for defending me and my best friend, I just want to say thank you." I said.

"I see, you really are that kid from the playground."

"Yes, I am. I am so glad to see you here. I actually kept telling my best friend that you're here but she thinks I'm delusional. She thinks you're a ghost." I said.

"Really?"

"It was pretty funny."

"Well, I would love to meet her just to prove to her that I am not a ghost."

I laughed at his statement.

"Listen, we still have 20 minutes before the class starts, do you want to join me in the library?" He asked.

"Sure."

"Great."

----

J.J. and I went to the library and we are currently sitting at the computer section. I think he's busy cramming his school work so I just searched for something that I know I am interested in.

The Urban legend of the Red Forest

I read some articles written about it and it boosted my curiosity even more.

Almost two decades ago, the town of Marydale experienced the most intensely powerful earthquake in history with a magnitude of 9.7 but some say there's more to it than how it's told. Some have linked the earthquake incident to a mythical war between witches and wolves wherein the Queen witch released a scream that sent strong shockwaves throughout the town.

Scientists and experts have deemed the story "nonsense", a "hoax" and "outrageously stupid" but even though it has been branded as such, many still believe the urban legend.

"What are you reading?" J.J. asked.

"Oh um…nothing. It's really nothing, don't worry about it." I said, embarrassed that he might judge me for reading something stupid.

"Oh, you want to know about the urban legend, huh?" He smiled.

"My friend just told me the story a couple of days ago and I got really hooked."

"Do you believe it might be true?"

"Um…not really." I answered.

"Do you believe in the supernatural?" J.J. asked.

"Sometimes, I guess."

"Well, I do. I believe there are some mythical creatures that really do exist like moon goddess and…werewolves." He said.

"I would have to agree on the werewolf part. I just got raped by a huge wolf last night."

J.J. burst out laughing.

"You really are something, Ravine." He said.

"Thanks! Anyway, I have to go to class now. J.J. It was really nice meeting you again." I stood up but he grabbed my wrist.

"Hey! Wait!"

"Yeah?"

"Join me for lunch please." He said with begging eyes.

"Um…sure." I said.

----

(J.J POV)

I cannot even express my happiness right now from my first interaction with my mate. My wolf was giddy and so was I. He's joining me for lunch and I can barely wait.

"Hey, who are you waiting for?" Marco appeared.

"Stay right there. I'll introduce you to my mate." I told him.

I am sitting at the middle table in the cafeteria while my eyes carefully watch who goes in through the cafeteria doors. Suddenly, he finally appeared along with his best friend.

I waved at him and he quickly made his way to our table.

"Hey!"

"Hi!"

"J.J., this is Frida, my best friend. Frida, do you remember J.J. now?" He asked.

"Oh gosh! You do look familiar. Nice to see you again." Frida shook my hand out.

"I told you it's him." Ravine said.

"Hi, nice to meet you. This is my best friend, Marco." I introduced them to each other.

I looked at Marco to see him staring intensely at Frida. What's wrong with him? Is this the first time he ever saw a girl?

"Marco, you okay?"

"Huh what?" He said as he looked confused as he was pulled out of his trance.

"He zones out sometimes, it happens." I said before getting lightly punched in the arm by him.

"Shall we all fall in line?" I asked.

"You go, I'll stay here and guard our table." Marco said.

"I think I'll stay too." Frida added.

"Alright then. Shall we, Ravine?"

"Sure." He smiled.

God, that smile!!

We grabbed a tray before getting served by the buffet lady some heavy food on our plates.

"Oh by the way, congratulations on your student writer award." I remembered.

"Thank you so much."

"You and Ned know each other?" I asked.

"Yeah, he's a great president. He's very responsible too with his tasks."

"He and I are childhood friends just so you know." I said.

"You're kidding?!"

"Ask him if you don't believe me."

"Wow! I guess the world truly is small after all."

After being served, we made our way to our table and Frida and Marco have been chatting for a while and it looks like they're really enjoying each other's company.

"You guys want to see a movie this weekend?" Marco asked.

"I think that's a great idea." I said as I wrapped my arm around Ravine.

"J.J and I are big fans of horror movies and we've been planning to watch this weekend actually. Frida and Ravine, you guys should come." Marco said.

"What do you think, Ravine?" Frida asked.

"Um…sure." He said as he was second guessing a little bit.

"Great. Movie World Theater at 8 pm on Saturday."

I gave Marco a thumbs up because what he did was such an awesome move for me and Ravine to be even closer with each other. I love it.

I am slowly going to win his heart and he's going to be mine.
