Synopsis
Joe was always rather unlucky and due to that luck, had died in his previous world, only to be surprised when he realized that he had awoken once more within a new body in the world of My Hero Academia. Unlike most of the residents in the world of heroes, Joe wasn't the most heroic, or mentally stable, which isolated him from the rest of the people with justice-boners. What surprised Joe even more about his situation was discovering that he had obtained the strange power to gain the abilities of those he killed. Not to mention getting a system to keep track of his progress. Joe was excited... He would thoroughly enjoy this game. ~~~Notes~~~ -The quote-unquote "system" won't be a system necessarily and will moreso be a status screen of sorts. It will provide some bonus things to the MC but it won't have missions, levels, a shop, etc -Evil MC

Chapter 1 - Let the Games Begin

Within the confines of the concrete prison known as middle school, was a young man around 14 years of age who seemed to be laying in the yard with a body covered in cuts and bruises.

He continued to remain motionless on the empty school grounds for quite a while before one of his fingers finally twitched and his entire body shook in pain.

"Ugh... Wh... What the...?" The boy mumbled with a cough as he placed his knuckles on the ground and pushed himself up.

He attempted to stand up only to fall back down as he gripped his side with gritted teeth and an agonized expression, "Agh, fuck!" He cried out in a strained voice as his laboured breaths echoed throughout the empty yard.

He stayed in that position for a while in an attempt at calming himself down and let out a few focused breaths before opening his eyes with determination and rising to his feet with audible pain.

"Arrrggh!" He growled through clenched teeth as his bloody fingers peeled at the intense clawing he was doing to the concrete walls.

Finally standing up, the boy visibly flinched at the sound of his leg seeming to fracture under his weight as he grabbed his knee and forcefully snapped it back into place, a hail of tormented laughter erupting from his lungs as he let out a bloody smile.

"What... the HELL... is going on?" His scratchy voice echoed as his left hand gripped his right shoulder and shoved it back where it was supposed to be, a restrained cuss escaping his lips as he rested his upper body against the brick walls.

"I-- I died... So how the fuck am I here?" He asked himself between his heavy breathing as his narrowed eyes scanned the area with suspicion.

However, seemingly out of nowhere, his eyes shot open as his mind was suddenly assaulted by a stream of memories flooding into his brain.

After the dump of memories, he gripped his forehead in an attempt at sorting through everything as he finally realized just what was happening.

'This body-- this kid... I was transmigrated into his body,' He thought to himself in pure disbelief as he rummaged through his clothes and pulled out a phone from his pocket.

He brought it up to his face and gained an irritated expression as he saw the time and lock screen background.

"Its already dusk, huh?" He noted as he side eyed the lock screen which had an image of himself standing next to a younger girl, an older woman, and an older man, 'This is my... family.'

Shaking the thoughts out of his head, the teen shoved the phone back in his pants, closing his eyes once more as he attempted to ignore the pain and search through his memories properly.

'My name in my past life was Joe Raster, but now I inhabit the body of a kid named Kinsei Ogawa...' He confirmed in his head as he took one more deep breath and finalized the sorting of his jumbled memories from this body and his past life ones.

"I have a mother, father, sister, and dog," He muttered to himself, his expression twisting into annoyance as he rubbed his sore shoulders and recalled the events that led up to his injuries.

"So the previous owner of this body was being bullied? They really went hardcore if the fucker died... Though it is awfully cliche'd but I suppose it was for the best that I took over this loser's life," He stated proudly as he cracked his irritated neck and decided that staying here wouldn't be the best idea.

Choosing to play it safe for now, Kinsei/Joe painfully took a step forward as his broken bones carried his fragile body back to the body's home and family.

However, while on his journey, a memory suddenly sprung in up that shook him to the very core. Was it excitement? Fear?

"...Aldera Junior High?" He whispered to himself in... was it joy? Fear?

No...

It seemed to be excitement.

"I'm in My Hero Academia!" He chuckled to himself as he approached his home with a limp.

Standing on the doorstep, Kinsei pushed open the door and sneaked into the shadows as a loud barking sound suddenly echoed through the house.

"Ruff! Arfgh!" A young Shiba Inu barked as it ran rapidly in Kensei's direction.

"Hey, hey, Aki! Calm down, okay, girl?" He said as he knelt in front of the happy dog and pat it to calm her down, the dog quieting down as Kensei picked up a random toy on the ground and threw it to distract Aki, "Go fetch, girly..."

Watching the dog flee the area, Kensei stood up with a stabbing pain in his leg as he sneakily coimbed up the stairs and quietly entered his room.

Kensei sat on the bed and laid down with a tired expression as he wrapped himself in a blanket, "I'm so fucking tired... I'll sleep for today and plan... tomorrow..." He drawled with clear drowsiness as his eyes slowly shut and his exhausted body went limp, falling into a deep slumber.

*Ping*

A notification sound reached the sleeping child's ears as he buried himself under the blankets and ignored the mysterious sound.

*Ping* *Ping*

It repeated once more as the kid groaned in annoyance and continued to stubbornly ignore the sound.

*Ping* *Ping* *Ping* *Ping* *Ping*

It continued to resound incessantly as Kinsei finally flipped the blankets off him with a groan and rubbed the bleariness out of his eyes.

"Ugh, what the hell, man? What is that incessant sound!?" He said with gritted teeth as he opened his eyes and reared back in shock at the sight of a strange blue screen floating in the air in front of him.

"No way," He mumbled under his breath as his eyes roved the screen with ever-increasing joy, "A system...!"

Reading through each of the numerous notifications, Kinsei's smile widened larger and larger as he excitedly spoke the words, "Status..."

--------------------

[Joe Raster/Kinsei Ogawa]

Age: 14

Job: Student

[Powers/Abilities:]

-Deviant Absorption (Original)

--------------------

Nodding in appreciation at the screen but still disappointed at the lack of functions, Kinsei curiously tapped the Deviant Absorption power as the details popped up in front of him.

--------------------

[Deviant Absorption]

Details: Upon killing a target, user can absorb any and all the abilities/powers/skills/memories of the victim. The number of victims' souls that can be absorbed is, in essence, limitless.

-Deviant Absorption causes the user to develop an inhuman biology that evolves as the user absorbs various victims' energies/essence/souls.

--------------------

'Holy shit,' He thought to himself with wide eyes as his mind shuffled through every possibility for this new ability's potential, 'Since I'm in MHA, could this technically be counted as my quirk?'

Well, he supposed it didn't matter. Even if this power was limited, It would be absolutely incredible. But the fact that it's not limited just makes this power invincible.

His power was basically a more complex version of All for One. Except, his ability has much more potential due to how it apparently alters the very essence of his body to make him evolve.

And not to mention that it didn't just absorb powers but also the very essence of a person's being... including memories and skills people have learned in their lifetime.

The only thing that would put off a normal person from using this power was the apparent need to murder someone for power...

Obviously, since killing is an act that would make anyone spit in disgust.

However, Kinsei didn't mind. He wasn't exactly the most stable of people despite his outward appearance and personality. In fact, that outward appearance is quite deceiving.

Actually, Kinsei could maybe even say that he enjoyed the act of killing.

The act of taking a life as though snuffing a meagre flame.

Life. A concept so easy to crush it almost seemed futile.

Taking the life from another living being with the ease of stealing candy from a baby...

That feeling...

It empowered him. Made him feel like he had control of everything.

If no one on the planet was going to senselessly kill people, why should the man known as Joe refrain from having complete and total control over another person's fate?

And at the same time... why shouldn't Kinsei use this to his advantage?

Kinsei had always had the habit of thinking of things in the sense of a video game...

Thinking like that just helped him understand things better.

If he murdered two people together, that was a double kill. If he bought a weapon from a store, he had just purchased an armament from the shop.

And due to that way of thinking, Kinsei had a distinct lack of empathy for those of his own kind. That lack of empathy even bordered on the realms of bloodlust at times.

However, in spite of all the previously mentioned, these footnotes all lead back to one thing...

"This game is going to be fun..."

Kinsei was excited.

He would thoroughly enjoy this game.

"Level 1: Start...!" He muttered to himself as he pulled his injured body off the bed and over to the door.

Kinsei pushed open the door and went to the washroom with slow steps, locking the door behind him as he rummaged through the drawers and pulled out a makeup kit.

Nodding at the sight, Kinsei selected a colour of concealer that matched his skin tone and began to apply it over the various bruises all over the visible parts of his body.

After a few minutes of application, Kinsei put the makeup away and stared at his reflection with a mix of curiosity and disappointment.

His hair looked to be bleached a dirty blond with strands of his natural black colour seeping through. His overall complexion seemed really pale, as though he hadn't seen the sun in years. His build was very unhealthy and looked to be suffering from a lack of food, having a visible ribcage and all.

He was pretty tall, standing at around 6 feet at the ripe age of 14. The only problem with that abnormal height was his distinct lack of any body mass. He was basically a couple of sticks attached to a bigger stick.

He was a pathetic mess.

Kinsei thought about the hair for a moment and recalled something, "Kinsei was in a gang, huh?" He mumbled to himself as he gazed in disgust at his easily breakable body.

'Kinsei was someone who was always bullied for no reason. Due to the incessant bullying he dealt with constantly, Kinsei joined a gang for protection and began to get bolder and bolder. That boldness eventually escalated to him accidentally angering a rival gang that lead to the situation where I woke up in Kinsei's body,' He listed with closed eyes as he smiled at the prospect of his first fight coming so soon.

"This should be amusing," He muttered, facing the door with a grin.

Kinsei pulled open the door with swift movements and ran out the door, unexpectedly bumping into a small body as a confused expression crossed his face and he looked down at the fallen girl.

'Saiko...' He noted to himself with narrowed eyes as he put on an easygoing face and knelt in front of the dazed girl, "Hehe, sorry, Saiko," He chuckled with a light smile as an irritated expression crossed her face.

"What are you laughing for, idiot?" She asked angrily as Kinsei's smile remained unmoving, Saiko ignoring his outstretched hand as she got up and entered the room, "And what's with the creepy ass smile?" She said with evident disgust as Kinsei continued to smile.

Kinsei didn't say anything as a creeped-out Saiko closed the bathroom door, Kinsei staring at the door with unblinking eyes as his smile turned into a blank, yet analytical expression that seemed to display a certain level of anger.

'Saiko Ogawa

Age: 13, almost 14

Female

Student at Aldera Junior High

Younger sister of Kinsei Ogawa

Weakness: Can't handle affection, stupid, sensitive about appearance, enjoys compliments, Easily irritated and temperamental, fragile body, suffers from asthma, allergic to insect stings, only eats meat, large appetite

Quirk: T-Rex...'

Kinsei listed off every aspect of his sister's life within his mind as he hummed for a second and came to a conclusion.

'She's pretty strong,' He thought with a happy smile, 'I can't wait to take that strength...'

Kinsei turned around and prepared to walk down the stairs as a notification from the system suddenly appeared in front of him, 'Hm?'

[Information registered]

Age: 13

Job: Student

State: Alive

[Powers/Abilities]

-Transformation-Rex (Quirk)

-Carnivorous

-Dancing

--------------------

'Interesting...' He thought to himself as he clicked on the Rex quirk for more information.

--------------------

[Transformation-Rex]

Details: Grants user the ability to shift parts of their body into those of a Tyrannosaurus Rex. User can transform into a complete T-Rex if they wish but it expends much more energy.

-Grants innate T-rex characteristics like being a carnivore, feeling predatorial to things, having a large appetite, sharp teeth, etc

--------------------

'That should come in handy as a weapon since this body is quirkless and having a powerful force like that at my side would be very useful for gaining more powers and protecting myself...' He noted in his mind as he dismissed the screen and sat at the dinner table next to his parents.

"Good morning, mother!" He greeted cheerfully with the same smile as before as his mother ignored the words and continued to eat.

He turned to a moustached man, "Good morning to you, father!" He smiled as his father exited from his seat, leaving his unfinished breakfast behind.

Though initially confused by the odd behaviour, Kinsei soon recalled something that shed some light on this situation.

'Crap...' He muttered in his mind as he grabbed his father's leftovers and began to eat them without caring for his mother's ludicrous stare.

'They are Quirk Supremacists...'
