Chapter 12 - Continent 53, Aurora

One month had gone by since Outis became the heir to the Nova family, in that time he had made another robot called R2-001 and R3-001.

R2-001 repaired and maintained the island to keep it in tip top shape.

R3-001 would build anything Outis told it to so long as he gave it the materials and blueprints to do so.

Right now the island was flying through the air, it was going at a moderate 600mph. Below the island one could see a vast and expansive sea.

Inside the inner island Outis could be seen inside a huge library, the library was full of shelves that spanned higher than felt logical for the constraints of the underground of the island. He could be seen with an open book in his hands,

The book which he was reading was titled, "Core Creation" it detailed quite a lot on the subject.

Most creatures in this world were born with a core, or more precisely almost all creatures were born with a core. Out of the 51 species on the planet 50 of them were born with a core, humans were the odd species.

Humans were not born with a core, they had to develop one, this was both an advantage and disadvantage.

On one hand because humans made their own cores they could customize their cores to fit them best and suit their needs.

On the other hand, creating a core that was actually best fit for you required you to either have a lot of knowledge on core creation or have a lot of money.

This led to most humans having "all rounded" cores which were made to perform decently in most situations.

*Sigh*

Outis sighed as he closed the book, core creation was an extremely hard to learn subject. He would be lying if he said his [BoomWorm] and [Knowledge Master] skills weren't extremely helpful in learning the subject.

The skills allowed him to easily understand and memorize everything he read, but it did nothing to sate the boredom he had when reading.

He got up from the ground as he exited the library and walked through the inner islands maze.

Shortly after he arrived at the control room. It looked identical to how a control room on a ship might look, except instead of windows there were monitors that showed the island which was now flying through the air.

Outis pulled up a screen as he asked a question.

"When will we be reaching the mainland?"

His question did not go unanswered, instead a robotic female voice answered.

[Approximate time before arrival: 10 minutes]

'I guess 10 minutes is enough time for me to form my core'

The boy currently had one objective, he needed a core. Without a core a creature could not convert pure energy into their desired energy and as such could not do anything related to magic.

Someone with a core could theoretically convert pure energy into mental energy and never be tired.

This would be a saving grace for Outis as his current objective required him to be in his workshop working at all times.

After making his decision to develop his core he made his way outside.

Outside in the place of his hut was now a normal looking wood hut.

Outis could be seen on the roof of said hut in a meditative position.

He stayed in that position for a minute before a thick mist could be seen around him. The mist was constantly entering his body through his pores like it was being swallowed by a bottomless pit.

The pure energy in the atmosphere around Outis had been concentrated to such a degree that it was now visible. The misty energy entered his body as it began to form a crystal object beside his heart.

After about 2 more minutes the crystal object had increased into the size of his heart, then the energy began to form crystal veins through Outis' body.  The veins connected themselves to the crystal heart and after 2 more minutes they too were done.

Outis let out a deep breath as he opened his eyes, he had finally formed his core.

"With this I can began construction of the family grounds"

A smile stretched across his face as he got up and returned to the control room.

"How much longer before we get there?"

[3 minutes left before we get to the mainland]

The female voice responded to which Outis nodded. He turned around and made his way outside again, this time he walked towards the edge of the island.

When he arrived he could see the vast ocean as the island rushed through, then out of the horizon popped out land. The land could be seen extending both ways for as long as the ocean could be seen.

"We've arrived at the mainland"

He said calmly, the tranquility in his voice was almost creepy.

[Now arriving at continent: 53, Aurora]

The female voice could be heard through the island, it was an announcement made through a device Outis had made.

"Let's go to the capital"

[Course changing, new objective: Capital of Aurora, Borealis The City of Cold Sky]

[Approximate time before arrival: 7 days]

"Perfect"

Aurora was located on the north part of the continent, and the island had arrived to the continent from the south.

Outis went back to his workshop after seeing the continent and the island rode above the clouds to hide itself.

Outis went to his workshop as he began making some blueprints for buildings. He gave the blueprints to the R3-001 robot as he started working on his next robot.

The R0-001 would be responsible for making more of the other robots. It took him 1 day to make it and put it into action immediately. Then he began to make the blueprints for security related buildings, he gave those to the new R3-002 robot and let it work.

After all that was finished Outis left the workshop as he went to one of the new building the R3-001 robot had made, the training center.

The boy wasted no time as he began training his hand-to-hand combat skills, it was much harder to improve them when he wasn't fighting monsters but he improved nonetheless.

After 5 days of training Outis could be seen laying on the ground, his inventory was pulled up.

–inventory–

[basic survival knowledge handbook]

[A sweet candy]

[Memory Fragment #24]

[Demon Sword(Rank D)]

"I've been ignoring it but I should check this memory fragment, maybe it's just as useful as the basic survival knowledge handbook?"

< Now entering Memory Fragment #24 >

Outis' eyes began to fuzz a bit, his consciousness slipped and before he knew it he had fallen asleep, but not to the land of dreams.
