Chapter 13 - Memory Fragment #24

Time: Morning

Location: Planet "Earth"

A boy could be seen sleeping in a classroom, there currently was no one else in the room. The class, perhaps once full of students, was now as silent and dead as a cemetery.

The boy was sleeping, his drool covering the desk.

*Ding*

*All students are to report to the gymnasium now*

*I repeat all students are to repeat to the gymnasium now*

The loud school announcement seamed to startle the sleeping boy as his head shot up instantly. His eyes fuzzy from sleeping quickly cleared as he realized the situation he was in.

"Sh*t"

He quickly got up from his seat as he swung the backpack that lay propped against his seat over his shoulder and ran with urgence out of the room.

He could be seen running through the winding halls of his school as he arrived at his gym doors in 5 minutes.

He entered the gymnasium only to come to an abrupt stop as soon as he entered. The gym bleachers could be seen extended as if expecting students to sit on them, yet there were no students.

The entire gym was empty.

"Hello?... Anyone?... I thought I heard an announcement?"

The boy called out, his voice received an echo but nothing more. He walked into the middle of the gym as if expecting something to happen.

"What the he-"

As he arrived at the center a sudden change in scenery occured. The once empty and eery gym was replaced with a forest, full of life with animal noises being clearly heard all around.

"What the F**K! Wow, what's this? Am I high? What is going on?"

The boy was visibly startled and confused. His instincts kicked into high gear as his body released Adrenaline into his body. He looked around terror overrun across his entire face, a stark contrast to his face near seconds ago.

He ran in one direction, like he believed this was all an illusion that he would get rid of by walking out of its zone of influence.

He ran, and ran but alas this was not an illusion. After running for a bit his mind cleared as he stopped running and looked around at his surroundings.

Just as he did so he spotted movement from the corner of his eye, usually such a miniscule thing would go overlooked as he would not care for it. Unfortunately his current body had all his senses increased to the max, the movement caught his attention instantly.

As he looked towards where the movement came from he froze, in front of him was a giant bear like animal. Its claws extended to the length of the boy's entire arm, the bear was easily as big as a school bus.

It looked at the boy with an intense predatory glare, the boys fight or flight instincts kicked in as he turned and quickly ran.

As he did so he heard a loud roar come from behind him, followed by loud steps, but the boy didn't look back. Instead he chose to run as fast as he could, weaving between trees like a skilled runner. He ran with his life on the line, the bears loud footsteps encouraging his body into overdrive.

He ran faster than any professional athlete ever had, or at least that's what it felt like to him. He didn't look back, no, he didn't dare.

The burrage of question he had for his situation were thrown away by his mind as he focused on nothing more than running away from the bear.

The forest cleared, as the boy began to inwardly cheer he was met with a sudden sense of doom as he dove forward.

A giant claw claved through the air where his head had once been. As if a cruel trick by god the clearing he had put hope into led to nothing more then the side of a cliff.

Alas the boy didn't care, dieing via falling should hurt less than being mulled alive… right?

The boy, half crawling, jumped off the cliff, as he began to fall a sense of relief overcame him. He was safe now right? No he was not, his nirvana came crashing down, the cause: an enormous amount of pain coming from back, he didn't need to see it to know what happened. The bear had clawed at his back as he fell and it hit him.

"F**k you, you piece of sh*t"

As the boy fell to his now inevitable death he cursed at the beast that had chased him into his current predicament. He still had many questions going through his head, but above all once question prevailed.

'What's going on?'

If only he could think of more before he hit the hard rocky floor.

*Bam*

His head took the full brunt of the fall as his mind was overrun with pain.

'f**king bear'

Even in his last moment he cursed the beast, hoping dearly for it's death.

Then, nothing, there was no "then" it all went black.
