Chapter 14 - Borealis, The City of Cold Sky

"Memoir?"

Silence, there was no response, instead just as Outis began to ponder a multitude of memories rose from deep within his soul.

< You have remembered a part of your Memoir >

< Your soul resonates within you >

A sudden jolt of pain assaulted the black haired boy, this pain was not new to him. It was identical to the pain that befell him when he regained his memories.

After some squirming around he stopped, sweat poured out of all his pores as he got up.

"Ahhhhh this is too much, I'm learning too much too suddenly… I'll go take a bath"

The boy ignored the new memories he had "remembered" and dragged himself to his personal bathroom.

After a quick bath Outis came out refreshed though still a little shocked by the new memories he seemed to have come to terms with it.

"So basically this isn't my first life… then… how many times have I died?"

He rubbed his temples as he realized just how much this could mean for his future. After some time he took one deep breath and went back to his workshop to work on something.

---------

7 days later

Outis was now very near his destination, before arriving he activated the island's built-in stealth mode feature. He parked the island a little bit away from the capital and got off it beginning his walk towards the capital.

He walked for a little over 5 minutes before arriving at a road, unlike the last road he stumbled upon this one was made of concrete.

It was clean and pristine like it had just been made. Outis wasted no time admiring the road as he began to walk along it.

He walked for another 5 boring minutes, after which he came upon a strange carriage. U like traditional carriage however there were no horses or other animal(s) pulling it. Instead the carriage seemed to move on its own.

"Carriages like these cost a lot… I should stay away better to not catch the eye if some d**k head."

He whispered to himself as he slowed down so as to not be too close to the carriage. Though he had spoken out loud he had done so in a very faint almost non-existent whisper, yet the carriage as if in response came to a halt.

Along with the carriage, Outis also stopped dead in his tracks, he waited for a bit expecting the carriage to continue on its path yet that did not happen.

Instead the carriage door swung open and out hoped a mature looking women, if not for the scowl on her face one may call her beautiful.

"Oy! You come here!"

The women pointed at Outis to Wich he pointed at himself confusingly.

"Me?"

"Yes YOU!"

A little startled Outis did just that, he walked towards her stopping only a bit away from her.

"Who the f**k are you calling d**k head?"

"What the he-"

The women took a step forward before launching a crude punch toward Outis. Expectedly she missed, not only that but the boy threw her onto the ground. He stared at her for a bit before running up to the carriage and looking inside.

"Hey! Come back here!"

Not looking back, Outis hopped into the carriage and pressed some bottoms on the control panel making it go forward.

However it didn't just "go forward" more so it blasted off at mach 1 leaving the women behind.

He did all this with the swagger of a professional as he waited exactly 203 seconds he stopped the carriage got out of it and started walking again, not 1 minute later he had arrived at the front gate to the entrance of the capital.

"The capital of Aurora: Borealis, the city of cold sky"

Outis smiled as he walked forward, he had chosen a less used entrance so the line was short, when it was his turn he gave the guard 1 copper coin and was allowed in.

He had some money from his families treasury but he had also taken some from the women's carriage.

Entering the capital was like entering a whole new world, the difference between the inside of the sophisticated capital and the outside in the dirty woods, was as clear as night and day.

Outis walked through the capital streets eventually arriving at the merchants side of the city. He was bombarded with tens and tens of offers for differing products.

From food to brooms they sold it all. Outis walked around looking at each vendor's stall when something caught his eye the vendor would instantly try to trap him into buying it but he would simply leave.

All the stalls were lively and full of customers except one, one that was full of scrolls. The vendor for this stall was an older gentleman maybe nearing his 50s.

Outis asked him for info on the stall and the products he sold, unfortunately he received nothing more than a blank stare.

The old man did not respond and simply stared at him like he was unworthy of even knowing of what the scrolls were.

Being a little creeped by his silence Outis left the stall with an uneasy feeling.

As he continued looking throughout, eventually he left the side of the city and found a hotel. He planned to try to get into the academy at the capital to learn of other subjects like alchemy, formation, beast taming and whatnot.

He desired to learn of it all so that when he expanded his family it would not be restricted to nearly creating/inventing. Though his family would always be one of creators he desired to expand its skill set as much as possible.

But for the meantime it was getting colder outside and the sun was inching ever so closer to the ground as the moon was climbing its way into the sky.

He found a suitable hotel rented a room for the night and went to sleep. Today had been quite the day for him and so he was rather tired. Like clockwork he fell on the hotel bed in exhaustion and fell into deep sleep.
