Chapter 7 - Magic Book

Aria stared at the book in front of her, curiosity now filling her beautiful face. She looked at it carefully before opening the first page. Her heart raced with wild imaginations of what could be in the book. The first page simply had the title written on it. She perused the second page and this one had more content written on it. She began to drink in the contents of the book and finally got immersed in it.

The book stated, "Magic is an ancient and powerful force that has been revered and feared throughout history. It is drawn from the natural world and can be harnessed and controlled through the use of spells and incantations.

There are many different types of magic, such as elemental magic, divination magic, and healing magic. Each type can be used in different ways, such as for protection, offense, and manipulation.

However, it is important to remember that magic is not without its dangers. There is always a risk of losing control and causing harm to oneself and others. And in Avon Kingdom, the use of magic is strictly prohibited and punishable by death.

But for those who are brave enough to explore the possibilities of magic, the rewards can be great. With the proper training and control, one can learn to harness the power of the elements and perform spells such as conjuring a small magic ball or a protective shield."The elements of water, fire, earth and air are the building blocks of magic. Each element has its own unique properties and can be used to create different types of spells.

To conjure magic using water, one must focus on the fluidity and adaptability of the element. Visualize the water flowing around you, and imagine yourself becoming one with its movement. Use incantations or chants that focus on the properties of water, such as "Fluidus", "Mutable" and call upon the water element to manifest in the spell.

To conjure magic using fire, one must focus on the energy and passion of the element. Visualize the flames dancing around you and imagine yourself becoming one with their heat. Use incantations or chants that focus on the properties of fire, such as "Ignis", and "Calor" and call upon the fire element to manifest in the spell.

To conjure magic using earth, one must focus on the stability and grounding of the element. Visualize the earth beneath you and imagine yourself becoming one with its solidity. Use incantations or chants that focus on the properties of earth, such as "Terra", "Solidus" and call upon the earth element to manifest in the spell.

To conjure magic using air, one must focus on the freedom and movement of the element. Visualize the wind blowing around you and imagine yourself becoming one with its flow. Use incantations or chants that focus on the properties of air, such as "Aer", "Mobilis" and call upon the air element to manifest in the spell.

Keep in mind that these methods may vary depending on the culture and the story's world-building. Also, it is not only about visualizing and chanting, but also about channeling the energy of the element and the focus of the spell. And always remember to use the elements with care, as they can be dangerous if not controlled properly."

Aria perused the next page and came across some text she could not decipher the meaning. She could only decipher the words meditate, concentrate, fingers, and nothing more. She tried her best to decipher the meaning of the words, but they were too complex and unfamiliar to her. She felt a sense of frustration building as she realized that she couldn't understand the important information that was written in the book.

She read the text over and over again, trying to make sense of the ancient script. She remembered her mother teaching her a few words and phrases of ancient Avonese, but it was not enough to understand the entire text. She couldn't help but feel disappointed that she couldn't fully understand the magic book that she had found.

She flipped through the pages, hoping to find something that she could understand, but the text only seemed to become more and more complex. She felt like she was hitting a wall, and she didn't know what to do.

Aria decided to take a break and put the book away for a moment, as she couldn't focus anymore. She walked around her room, trying to clear her mind and come up with a solution. She knew that she needed help if she wanted to fully understand the book, but she didn't know who she could trust. She thought about asking Greta for help, but she didn't want to put her maid in danger. Ancient Avonian was really a difficult language to understand and only a few people who knew it survived to date. She needed to seek help beyond the palace walls but she remembered that she was a prisoner in her home until the marriage commences.

Feeling defeated, Aria lay down on her bed and stared at the ceiling. She couldn't shake off the feeling that she was missing out on something important, and she knew that she had to find a way to decipher the ancient text. She made a promise to herself that she would find a way to understand the book, no matter what it takes. But for now, she needed to sleep.

**************

At a dark corner of the palace hallways, Lord Blackwood stood there as if he was waiting for someone. He wore his robes which meant that he had woken up from his sleep. He looked quite frustrated, probably due to waking up at this hour of the night.

A mysterious figure materialized from thin air catching the attention of Lord Blackwood. He didn't seem puzzled by the power emanating from the darkling standing in front of him. The figure was hooded, and it was hard to make out their face in the darkness.

"What was so urgent that it couldn't wait for twilight?"Blackwood asked angrily.

"Forgive me my lord, but it was urgent," the figure said bowing slightly at Blackwood.

"Then spit it out!"

The figure hesitated for a moment before gathering courage and delivering the dreadful message," the magic book was stolen from the library, my lord."

Lord Blackwood stared at the figure, disbelief written all over his poker face. It was a sight to laugh at."How is that possible? No one, not even the king knew where the book was. I need you to find that book before it gets in the wrong hands."

The dark figure nodded knowingly before disappearing into thin air. Lord Blackwood headed to his chambers with a lot running through his mind. It was going to be a long night, both for him and Aria.
