Chereads / The Fugitive Princess / Chapter 9 - Sir Leon

Chapter 9 - Sir Leon

After much consideration, Aria made her decision. She walked up to a tall, broad-shouldered knight with a fierce look in his eyes. His armor was adorned with the crest of a lion, and his sword glinted in the light. He was young, but Aria could see the determination and loyalty in his eyes.

"Sir Leon, I choose you to be my personal knight," Aria said, her voice steady and confident.

Sir Leon knelt before her, his head bowed. "I pledge my loyalty to you, Princess Aria," he said, his voice strong and sincere. "I will protect you with my life and serve you until my last breath."

The crowd erupted in applause as Aria and Sir Leon stood up. King Marcus stood up from his throne and walked towards the two of them. He placed his hand on Sir Leon's shoulder and said, "Welcome to the royal family, Sir Leon. You have made a wise choice, Princess Aria."

Aria smiled, feeling a sense of relief wash over her. She knew that Sir Leon would be her greatest ally, and together they would lead the kingdom to greatness.

As the ceremony came to an end, Sir Leon took his place at Aria's side, ready to serve and protect her. The crowd dispersed, leaving Aria and Sir Leon alone in the throne hall. Aria turned to Sir Leon, and said, "Let us begin our journey together."

Sir Leon nodded, a look of determination in his eyes. He knew that this was just the beginning of a long and challenging journey, but he was ready to face it all with Princess Aria by his side. After the knight selection ceremony, Aria and Sir Leon spent some time getting to know each other. They walked through the palace gardens, talking and laughing, as they formed a bond that would be essential to their journey together.

"So, Sir Leon, tell me about yourself," Aria said, as they sat down on a bench near a pond.

"Well, my princess, I am from a small village in the south of Avon. I have been training as a knight since I was a boy, and I have always dreamed of serving the royal family," Sir Leon replied.

Aria listened intently, fascinated by his stories of his childhood and his training as a knight. She was impressed by his dedication and his passion for serving the kingdom.

"And what about you, my princess? What are your dreams and aspirations?" Sir Leon asked.

Aria paused for a moment, thinking about how to answer that question. She had always been taught to put the kingdom first, but she had her own dreams and aspirations.

"I want to lead the kingdom to greatness, and I want to be a leader who is fair and just. I want to be a ruler who is respected and loved by the people," Aria said, her voice filled with determination.

Sir Leon nodded, a look of respect in his eyes. "I can see that you are a leader with a strong sense of purpose, my princess. I will do everything in my power to help you achieve your dreams," he said, his voice filled with sincerity.

Aria smiled, feeling a sense of trust and respect for Sir Leon. She knew that he would be a valuable ally in her journey to lead the kingdom.

They continued their conversation, discussing about their goals, plans, and how to make the kingdom a better place. Aria found Sir Leon to be a wise and thoughtful person, with a strong sense of loyalty and dedication. She felt that he would be a great support for her in the future.

As the sun began to set, Aria and Sir Leon made their way back to the palace, ready to begin their journey together. They knew that it would not be an easy road, but they were determined to make a difference in the kingdom and lead Avon to greatness.

As Aria reached her door, Sir Leon bowed and stepped back, allowing her to enter her chambers.

"I hope you sleep well, princess."Aria gave sir Leon a reassuring smile before she proceeded in. She couldn't help but feel a twinge of guilt as she watched him stand by her chambers all night long. Aria let out a sigh of relief as she closed the door behind her, hoping that he would be well.

Once inside her chambers, she walked over to her bathtub and began to fill it with warm water. As she undressed, she couldn't help but think about the magic book she had found in the library. She had tried to read it last night, but the ancient Avonese script was difficult for her to decipher. She knew that she needed to find someone who could read it for her, someone who could help her understand the secrets of magic.

As she sank into the warm water of her bath, Aria made a decision. She would escape the palace and find someone who could read the ancient Avonese script. She knew that it would be a risky move, but she was determined to uncover the secrets of magic and use them for the good of the kingdom.

After her bath, Aria dried herself off and put on her nightgown. She walked over to her bed and sat down, picking up the magic book once more. She flipped through the pages, trying to make sense of the ancient script. But her eyes were heavy with fatigue, and she knew that she would not be able to read anymore tonight.

She placed the book on her nightstand and lay down on her bed, closing her eyes. She knew that she had a long journey ahead of her and that she needed to rest. As she drifted off to sleep, she made a silent promise to herself to uncover the secrets of magic and use them to lead Avon to greatness. She made one final look in her dimly lit room before blowing off the candles and drifting into a heavy sleep.
