"What happened to you'" that question resonated in Leticia's mind as she stared blankly at the man who was in the room. The events that happened that day flashed across her mind and a bitter smile formed on her face. She sighed heavily, a flash of almost physical pain and steeled herself.
King Edgar watched her every reaction and he immediately regretted asking her the question. It seemed it brought back painful memories that irritated her to the core.
"It's fine," he said ending the matter. "You can tell me later." That would probably ease the feelings that she held for now. Maybe even set a ground for her to open up later.
"Can you at least tell me your home so that I can take you back." He said. This would probably sparkle something in her. But the expression she gave him was nowhere close to what he had expected.
