Chapter 33 - A Burning Sensation

Just in the nick of time, Jinghua jumped down from the tree and knocked the disciple out with a kick. He then helped Bingwen up and continued carrying him again. "We're not too far from the closest town. Just a mile straight through the forest." Jinghua said, continuing to run. But the Ning disciples chased after them. "Baiyu!" Bingwen commanded, Baiyu flew up and stabbed through the disciples chasing after them.

After losing the disciples, Jinghua slowed down. They were closer to the village that Jinghua said he saw. Bingwen bit his lip, trying to think of something to say to Jinghua. "Just hold on a little longer, we're close to the village." Jinghua said before Bingwen could even say anything. Bingwen held on around Jinghua's neck tighter. "A-Alright…" Bingwen could only manage to say.

They eventually made it to the village and found an abandoned hut to stay in. The village was in a poor state. It was filled with hybrids and demons. The hut was filled with dust and cobwebs but it was still in good condition.

Jinghua set Bingwen down by the threshold and the door. "I'll go around the village to see if I can find you any medicine. Stay here. I will be right back." Jinghua said. Bingwen was unsure of him leaving but trusted Jinghua anyway. Would he regret that decision?

Jinghua had walked a few ways around the village. Night was slowly taking over the day and the sky started to get dark. Jinghua saw many people laying on the streets. This village obviously had been in a poor state for a long while. But an old hybrid woman stopped him before he walked even further. "Young master, may I read your palm?" The woman said, Jinghua sighed and bowed. "Ma'am, I am in a hurry." Jinghua responded. But the woman continued to beg. "Only for a small price, Rich Master. Then maybe I'll be able to give you what you're searching for." Jinghua sighed and kneeled to the woman. He held his palm out to her and she touched it gently. "You're in search of medicine for a special person." The woman said. "S-Special person?" Jinghua stuttered,

"Indeed. You share a good relationship with this person. You have known them for a long while now but it seems they have not known you."

"What else?" Jinghua asked. The woman's expressions changed as her wrinkled but soft fingers glided across Jinghua's hand. A small tear streamed down her face as she opened her eyes. She held Jinghua's hand tightly. "You have had a very rough past, Rich Master. And your future holds many tragedies. But you will go far with this special person." The woman said as she let go of his hand. She then reached into her sleeve and pulled out a small pouch. "These herbs will help his wound." She said as if she knew Bingwen. Jinghua gave the woman a few coins and bowed to her as he took the herbs. But before he could go back to the hut he left Bingwen in, he was stopped. He was surrounded by Ning disciples. He feared this would happen. "Jin Si!" Jinghua commanded as he fought off other disciples. He ran towards the hut when the disciples were distracted. And then there, inside the hut, Yuxuan Shi held Bingwen by his neck. Bingwen struggled to get out of Yuxuan Shi's grasp. He was lifted about two feet off of the ground. "YUXUAN SHI!" Yelled Jinghua. Jin Si returned to Jinghua but so did the disciples who had caught Jinghua by the arms. Suddenly, another sword flew in the hut, slicing off Yuxuan Shi's arm that held Bingwen. He coughed and gasped for air, hitting the floor with a thump. The sword had the Chisheng symbol marked into it. The sword's name was Qiuyue. The disciples let go of Jinghua. He realizes that they had been set on fire. Behind Jinghua stood Chisheng Wei. Her face was a serious expression and in a scary tone she said, "Let go of Yusheng Jin." Yuxuan Shi completely ignored the fact that his left arm was lying on the ground. "Princess, you have returned!" Yuxuan Shi teased as he walked towards her. She clenched her fists as tears streamed down her face. Jinghua ran to Bingwen. "You leave me and then become a disciple of the Ning clan across our borders. Across our NATION! You traitor! And then you go killing innocent people! SHAME ON YOU! SHAME ON YOU, YUXUAN SHI!" She yelled as her sword, Qiuyue returned to her hands. Yuxuan Shi had a straight face as she stabbed him. She continuously stabbed him. "You're nothing but a monster, you traitor, Yuxuan Shi! You killed so many people! Why would you do it, you monster!" She continued to rant. Yuxuan Shi put his hand on her sword. "Why did you return, Meiling."

"DO NOT CALL ME BY THAT NAME!" She lashed out. She then sobbed on his chest. Yuxuan Shi fell on his knees. "Kill me now, Meiling. And let the king know that I will not be back." His body then caught on fire due to the power of Qiuyue.
