Bloom came to work with the intent to resign. She still couldn't wrapped her head around what happened last week. She had printed out her resignation letter. She couldn't help but blame herself for being so careless as to break the rule.
Bloom had been an ignorant human girl who was concerned with her own life but now she was a human who knew about the existence of Vampires and werewolves.
Bloom had spent the weekend researching about Vampires and werewolves. She had come across other supernatural creatures on the internet making her wonder if they also exist.
Bloom had battled with nightmares throughout the weekend. Sje couldn't go to the convenience store without getting worried if a vampire would jump out of nowhere to suck her dry.
Bloom couldn't help but feel that Mr Shaw didn't leave her for good. And she couldn't take her mind off how they kept calling him Lord. She wondered what that was about.
Bloom took a deep breath as Ariel and John both walked in. Bloom knew they were dating in secret, she had caught them once and their cat and dog fight was a cover up for their real relationship but Bloom was not one to tattle. If they wanted them to know about their relationship Bloom knew they'd tell everyone themselves.
"Morning."Ariel and John greeted simultaneously.
"Good morning."Bloom greeted back with a smile as she slowly sipped on her coffee.
She looked at her desk sadly. She knew she would have to clean up everything. She remembered her first day when they transferred bher to her current department.
She was so happy. She had chosen her outfit like ten times, she had thought very carefully what decoration and items to be on her desk. She had given her all, her best.
Bloom felt tears gathering in her eyes as she thought about her life in the company. She took a long sip of her coffee and tried to keep her tears at bay.
She didn't want her colleagues to see her crying.
"You lived up to your reputation Bloom"Louis said as she came smiling towards Bloom.
"I mean, the report was detailed amd well revised. I was stunned. Thank you."
"It's fine I was just doing my job."
"Yes you were ad you are good at it. I knew I could always rely on you." Louis said with a proud look on her face before heading back to her office
Bloom just nodded as she tried to glup down the rest of her coffee. She felt the tears come back up again.
Bloom pulled open her top drawer and she took out her resignation letter. She took a deep breathe and it took all her will not to tear it into pieces.
Bloom knew she would have to give Louis the letter sooner if latter.
She knew she couldn't keep stalling.
"It's now or never." Bloom told herself and she stood up from her chair.
She took a deep breath and began heading towards Louis's office.
"Miss Hayworth."
Bloom halted in her step as she heard someone call her name. She turned around to see who it was.
A young woman in her late twenties headed towards her till she was standing right in front of Bloom.
"I've been requested to escort you to the Boss."
"What?" Bloom asked.
"What's going on?" Ariel asked as she came out from the break room and stood beside Bloom.
"Oh...uh..-" Bloom couldn't reply because she also didn't know what was going on but her guts told her that it was about what happened last week.
"Miss Hayworth, please follow me." The young woman politely gestured to the entrance of their office.
"Oh ok." Bloom replied before turning to Ariel.
"I'll go see what this is about. I'll be back." Bloom assured Ariel before following the woman.
Bloom prayed to her stars to come back alive. Her heart thumped in her chest as she tried to think of what they wanted her for.
"Please go ahead." The lady gestured to the double door of the boss's office.
Bloom nodded her head and muttered a small thank you to the woman.
Bloom eyes scanned the office and she noticed it was bigger than she actually thought yesterday. Everything in the room was white, from the walls to the furniture, to the sparklinf marbled floors.
Although Bloom could see all of the room clearly, the floor to ceiling windows was covered with a blind.
Bloom eyes wandered from her surroundings to the man that sat behind the desk.
Seeing his face more clearly Bloom realised he was much more attractive than she thought. The man was basically a geek god
"Have a seat Bloom." He gestured to the chair in front of his large desk.
Bloom nodded nervously. He had said her name with so much authority it was chilling.
Bloom sat down as she tried to look any where but him.
"I see you had the intention of keeping through with your words."
"What?" Bloom was confused by his statement.
She followed his eyes to see that he was looking at the letter in her hand.
Bloom almost smacked her head. She had been so nervous on meeting him that she didn't realize that she still hung on to the letter.
She immediately tucked the letter behind her band looked away from him.
"Why did you call for me?" Bloom asks going straight to the point.
"You will start working for me."
"What!" Bloom felt like she heard wrong but then his face remained emotionless and hard band she realized she didn't hear wrong.
"W-W-What does that mean?"
"Starting now you are my assistant."
Bloom couldn't speak. She didn't know if to run away or not.
"I-i-i... I'm not fired?"
"No... You're promoted. From now on you work for me."
Bloom thought about his words for a few seconds.
"What if I don't want to be promoted? I like my current position." Bloom asks.
"I'm not asking Bloom." His voice deepened making Bloom shiver in her seat.
"O-Of course." Bloom agreed immediately.
She didn't want to know the result of refusing him.
"Good. Leave." He ordered.
Bloom immediately scrambled from her seat and practically ran out of the huge office. She wasn't comfortable about staying in the same room alone with a vampire.
As Bloom came out, the lady who escorted Bloom to the office came approached her.
"Miss Hayworth. My name is Claire and I'll be showing you to your office and guiding you till you get the hang of your job."
Bloom smiled at the lady before following her to where she was leading her to.
"By the way, you can just call me Bloom."
"Alright, Bloom."
Bloom smiled. The girl seemed friendly and she was also attractive making Bloom wonder if she was not a human.
Few steps away from Mr Shaw's door was another door but a smaller one. It wasn't a double door.
"This would be your office, starting now." Claire said as she pushed open the door for them to get in.
"Wow." Bloom gasp.
The room was bigger than she expected. A black office chair stood behind a desk that had a desktop and all.
It had a floor to ceiling windows but it was still covered up with blinds.
Claire picked up a small remote looking device and pressed the button on it facing the window. The blinds moved apart from the window.
The window encompassed a whole wall.
"You will be helping Lord Azazel with anything he needs. Most especially things related to humans." Claire explained.
"Lord Azazel?" I asks.
"I suppose you know about Lord Azazel's real identity. Mr Shaw is Lord Azazel. In front of Normads you call him Mr Shaw but he is a Lord and should be addressed as such." Claire explained with clarification.
"Lord? Is that a title?"
"That's one of the things I'll be informing you about."
"Shaw is just one of the Lord's name. His name is Azazel and he is a Lord. It's like a King."
"King?"
"You should seat down." She gestured to the black couch that was in the room.
The place was like a small sitting area. It has a three sitter couch and a one sitter couch and at the center was a glass coffee table.
Bloom sat on the one sitter couch.
Claire walked to the office desk and picked up a binder. She dropped the binder on the coffee table.
Bloom immediately picked it up opening it.
"The Vampire world is made up of clans and the head of those clans is the Lord. Lord Azazel is a very powerful vampire with but load of power and influence in both the supernatural world and the ordinary world."
Bloom opened the binder and her eyes scanned the things written in them.
"Those are the name of the Normads that works with that works for Lord Azazel and their roles. You will be the bridge between them and Lord Azazel."
Bloom tired to process all the information Claire was telling her. Her task sounds like a butt load of responsibility.
But Bloom was thankful she'll only have to deal with humans.
"Your job doesn't stop there. When I say you are to help Lord Azazel with anything he needs I mean anything. If it has to deal with Normads or not."
Bloom's eyes widen in horror at her words.
Claire could see the worry I'm Bloom's eyes.
"You don't need to worry. No one can ever touch you. Of they harm you, it means they are threatening lord Azazel and trust me no being would do that." Claire assured.
But it just made Bloom wonder how powerful her boss was.
Bloom sighed at least she wasn't fired but instead promoted.
