Pain crowded my senses; I brought my legs up to my chest and slowly curled up like a child. My eyes burned with stinging sensation, but it was not almost filled with the ebbing tears of pain and misery but the broken hope, the disgrace and the uncertain future it brought with it.
I looked up at his receding back, then lowered my lashes to cover up the slight lost look in them…
That soft humming started echoing in my ears again… it never really went away… it has always been there, reminding me, guarding me…
'The wolf is howling in the forest of the night,
He wants to, but cannot sleep…
Hunger tears down his wolven stomach,
And its cold in his burrow…
Wolf, wolf, don't you come here,
I will never let you take my child…
Wolf, wolf, don't you come here,
I will never let you take my child…'
she closed her eyes, slowly falling asleep to its hypnotic lulling. But a small tear quietly escaped from the corner of her eyes, tracing its way back through the creeks of time.
"Sister, sister… look at us, how did we perform just now? It was good, right.", Two childish voices eagerly yelled together.
"It was so wonderful, my dears" She replied with an equal enthusiasm.
An elegant and charming figure of a lady sat at a little distance away from them, gently leaning into the arms of a slightly buff man, who had a powerful commanding aura around him. They both smiled and looked kindly at their cheerful interactions.
The sun shone warmly in the sky and the wind blew gently, swaying the flowers along with it, who were joined together by lots of vibrant butterflies around them, dancing to its rhythm, creating a beautiful tango of their own.
But the surrounding changed quickly, and the entire sky was covered by the ominous black clouds and the winds also stilled upon its beckoning. The warmth of the picture was quickly engulfed by bone biting chill.
"Run Trixie, take them away with you." she heard their desperate shouts…
"No, please... never, I will never leave you." she pleaded again and again
"You have to keep them safe, you to keep yourself safe, run okay…", she heard her say.
Blood soaked the entire horizon… and it slowly slithered towards me, constantly trying to capture me…
But I had to keep running, hauling them with me, keeping them safe was the most important. But it was still a little too late.
"Shh, go that way and don't look behind, never look behind…" I coaxed in soft voice.
She turned around shielding them, trying to delay as long as she could… but finally gradually letting the darkness consume her, pulling her into an abyss of nothingness.
It has been nothing but the endless emptiness since then…
"My child, I will take good care of you", it always said to me…
