My destination was still a little far from me but a sudden sound of rustling clothes and footsteps, made me vigilant. I instantly hid behind the other side of towering grass wall of the maze.
What surprised me more, was that it sounded like a seductive gasp of a female, followed by some low muttering, as if a shy quarrels between a couple.
Did I accidentally stumble upon a scene not meant for children…
My cheeks instantly got a little hot at the thought and I couldn't help but wanting to take a slight peek and quietly go my way. But what I saw was far from reality.
A tall figure of a man gracefully stood in faint moonlight and a woman knelt before him.
Her head was held between his hands, with her neck twisted at a very painful angle, and it looked like she was no longer alive.
It was a beautifully horror thing to watch… I inexplicably shuddered at the view.
"Darling, are you done watching the show, Humm…."
I sincerely prayed to God that his amused voice was not talking to me. I quickly looked for a way to escape but it was too late as I felt someone standing behind me.
"My dear lady, has anyone never taught you that curiosity really killed the cat" he gently whispered into my ear, but it was like an invisible hand strangling me.
I immediately started running away, but waves of mana coercion did not let me move. I was already very weak by the usage of that ancient hypnotic technique to escape the prison and my mana has become very weak due to years of suppression.
"You cannot be thinking of running away, I am obviously talking very nicely to you", he sounded very sarcastically hurt, I have never seen such a person, what an asshole…
"Did you see it", he asked with bit of blood thirst in his volume.
"No", I immediately answered...
"But I think you watched it and I really do not like it. What should we do? After all, secrets are best kept by dead, at most it is just one more burial. Now, doesn't this saying sounds a little true…" he followed.
I swear to God that if I could move right now, I would have killed this jerk. But I chose to remain silent.
"But one thing makes me even more curious is what is a young damsel such as yourself wandering about at such an odd hour" he playfully asked.
"How does it bother you, kind sir", I innocently answered. But, his playful cold eyes kept staring at me, waiting for an answer.
So I hurriedly followed by saying, "You see, it was very crowded inside and I didn't want to be asked for a dance again. So, I left the party to look for some fresh air."
"Now, you can't be so boring and will continue to keep me here." I asked back in an indifferent voice.
