Chapter 3 - Chapter II: The Welcome Day. Part 2

Already a dozen people have gone and nearly half have awakened to mundane professions of Worker and Civilian. Others were lucky and awakened to combat, magic, and some to production-related professions. One in particular awakened the rare profession of Artificer. He will be able to create weapons or develop new technologies over time. This is a profession that is well appreciated by nobles and can be a very good source of income according to what my father has already told me.

"Mike Foster, name the director," I say excitedly to know what profession he will have.

Mike approaches the stage and climbs the stairs. Upon reaching the profession stone, he places both hands on it and after a few seconds, the stone lights up with a beige and brown color. Usually, the stone should produce a color related to the awakened profession. So, I think to myself that he must have awakened a profession related to the earth. I see him smiling like an idiot, he must have awakened a good profession! He descends from the stage and joins us. Before I even have time to ask him his profession, Zephyr intervenes and asks him:

"And then, Mike? What did you awaken?"

Before answering, he poses like a hero and tells us in his loud and deep voice:

"I am now Mike, the Descendant of Giants! Listen well, I will summarize my status window:"

"Wow, that's a powerful profession, you'll be able to fight monsters one by one when we go hunting!" I tell him as I see his status window.

On the other hand, his mana and intelligence are low! Let's say that doesn't surprise me... Mike is more the type to act than to think. All muscles and no brains, as some would say.

"Zephyr Neither-Vyne, call the director," I shout.

"It's your turn now!" I say gently.

Again, the same principle as Mike, but this time the stone lights up with a pale green and projects some forest green rays. The rays, instead of being linear, move as if they are undulating with the wind. Once her awakening is complete, she comes back and describes her status window without anyone asking.

"Yeah, it's looking good," she responds neutrally, as if she already expected it. "I have good synergy with Mike too. He can take the damage and draw attention, and I can attack from a distance while supporting him. Now we just need to see what profession you have, and we'll have a complete team."

"That's true," I agree.

"Heol, it must be your turn soon!" Mike says. About five minutes later, Director Rosenpowell calls my name.

"It's finally your turn, Heol!" my friends exclaim at the same time. "Good luck!"
