My room is bigger than I thought. It contains a bed, a dresser, a mini fridge, a mini fireplace, a shower, a toilet, and a desk. It's great, in my opinion, and I'm especially surprised by the presence of magical artifacts. They will make my daily life much more enjoyable.
Tonight, I'll have to go back to my parents' house to get some things to decorate my dorm room. As I sit on the bed, I think about how strange it is to leave home and become independent. Everyone goes through it sooner or later, but the fact that it's my turn now makes it incredible and exciting! I have about forty minutes before my next class, so I decide to take the opportunity to learn more about my profession and my status window. As I think about opening my status window, it opens:
Name: Heolstor Xel'Mourndor
Level: 01
Profession: Void Merchant (Ordinary)
Talent: Void acquisition
STATS: ● Strength: 10
● Agility: 10
● Intelligence: 10
● Mana: 10
● Dexterity: 10
● Luck: 10
● Constitution: 10
STATS TO DISTRIBUTE: 0
Skills:
● Sales Listing ●
Questioning what each stat means, I try to tap on the word and immediately, a page appears in front of me;
STATS:
● Strength: Increases physical strength.
● Agility: Increases action speed and reaction time.
● Intelligence: Increases cognitive ability.
● Mana: Increases mana reserve and regeneration.
● Dexterity: Increases action precision.
● Luck: Slightly increases luck.
● Constitution: Increases resistances and regeneration.
After reading all the information several times, I can't help but wonder which stats to increase. I don't have a profession as straightforward as Mike or Zephyr's. Usually, melee-based professions increase their strength and constitution, while professions like Zephyr's, which are more magic-based, increase their mana and intelligence. But looking at my stats, I can see that they are all balanced. So in my opinion, I have the choice of which path to take, but before I decide on anything, I will wait to learn more in tonight's class.
The break is almost over, so I am joining Pepper as planned.
"Let's go," I say, a little excited to start the second class! She follows me and we both head to the next building.
Upon entering, I see that the majority of the group has already arrived and there are still ten minutes left before the start of the class.
"How do you think the professor will be like for this class?" Pepper asks me.
"I don't know," I responded, uncertain, but just as curious.
At that moment, a man in his fifties enters the classroom. He is tall, muscular, and dark-skinned. He wears a straw hat, overalls, a canvas bag at his waist, and a pair of leather boots. The man waves his hand to greet us. On his index finger is a skull-shaped ring with eyes made of what appears to be rubies.
"Clearly, that must be the professor," I say to Pepper, surprised by his appearance.
Pepper nods in agreement.
"Follow me, everyone," he exclaims. "We are going straight to the main room of the building. For those who have brought personal items, you will find lockers there. Store them there."
The students quickly comply and gather in a semi-circle around the professor. Not leaving any time for the students to do anything else, he speaks again:
"Good afternoon, everyone. I am Mortius, the Reaper, legendary-grade farmer, and I am your professor for the Basic Skills Control class." Some students emit sounds of amazement. It is rare to see someone with a legendary-grade profession.
"Let me start by explaining the goal of the class. In simple terms, the purpose of this course is to increase your efficiency in controlling your skills..."
After a brief silence, so that we can concentrate on what he just said, he continues his monologue:
"So, this class is not a combat or theory class, but by increasing the control of your skills, you can in a sense amplify your combat power."
"Today's class is very theoretical, so don't fall asleep," he tells us with a smirk, as if we could really fall asleep while standing around him! His sense of humor leaves something to be desired…
"Please follow me now," he continues, heading towards one of the multiple doors of the building. He stops in front of a door named "Prairie" and turns back to continue his explanations:
"On the other side of this door is a training biome with the characteristics of a prairie. You'll see, it's magical," he says with a smile.
He opens the door, revealing a mini-prairie about fifteen meters long and wide. The professor enters and instructs us to follow him inside.
The biome is filled with long grass that reaches mid-calf. A fake sun is present in one corner of the blue sky, creating a surprisingly realistic effect. I can feel the warmth of the rays and the gentle caress of a light breeze. As Mortius indicated, it is truly magical.
After waiting for our amazement to subside, he continued his explanations:
"In the courtyard pavilion, you will find several biomes like this one. Currently, we are in the prairie biome. Each biome is constructed using Mages, Shamans, Elementalists, Naturalists, and Runists. Each of them worked in teams to create miniature worlds like this one. You can see that each biome contains the appropriate elements and is rich in energy. They are protected by high-quality protective runes, which allows us to train without worrying about damaging them. This pavilion is a treasure of the Green Era according to the archives, and you can learn more about it in the library if you're interested.
I'm explaining all of this because you will need to practice your skills in these biomes. Don't worry, for those of you who have production or non-combatant professions, you will have workshop biomes. For example, if you have the profession of a blacksmith, you can go to the Blacksmith's workshop biome and practice forging with basic materials. The same goes for a majority of professions.
He finishes his explanations by telling us to take a fifteen-minute break to stretch our legs and come back to the main hall afterwards.
