"Did you sleep well?" asks a man, snickering.
I'm a little confused since I'm not sure what happened in the last hour. But as I stand up, I see that almost everyone is doing the same, with a bewildered expression, wondering what happened...
"Alright, I see that you're all waking up," Mortius sneers as he watches us rise slowly. "You all passed out due to the activation of my domain. You acquire one when you reach level 61. Now, sit down on the ground and rest while I continue to explain the rest of my theory.
"Every person who wakes up at the age of 16 acquires a personal profession and obtains what is called a status window. Think about your status window, everyone, and it should appear in front of you," he orders kindly.
Everyone complies, including myself. Having already seen it, the action isn't difficult for me. The small status window appears, but nothing new is displayed.
"It's only visible to yourself," Mortius continues, "but you can join an association and they'll allow you to have an identification plate," he says, pulling a small metal plaque from his pocket. He shows it to us and continues his explanations. "Regarding your status window, you can see that it contains your name, level, profession, innate talent, your stats, and your skills. You level up when you have enough accumulated experience.
"You'll gain experience by killing living beings or by producing things. For example, if you exterminate ten rats, you should gain a level, and the same goes for production. Once you gain a level, you'll get stats that you can place to increase your abilities. It's up to you to choose which path to take when you invest your stats, but be careful, because once invested, it's almost impossible to change them…
"After a brief silence, he tells us to have fun testing our skills in the different biomes and to try to learn more about our status window. He finishes his monologue with the cliché sentence of all teachers: "If you have any questions, don't hesitate to come see me."
Before he has time to finish, everyone stands up to go out and explore the biomes...
"It's incredible that they're able to have created so many different biomes in just one pavilion," I say, still in shock.
"Yeah, it's impressive. I like the biome with the mini beach that overlooks the sea. It's beautiful. But the rock biome is pretty cool too. Which one do you prefer?" Pepper asks, smiling.
"I like the one where it rains constantly, it's relaxing," I say after thinking for a short moment. "On the other hand, the all-black biome that looks like a cave is scary. We probably need to prepare in advance to train in that one."
"Yeah, I agree, a bit like the one with intermittent blizzards. It wasn't great, I almost died of cold three times," she says, adding a touch of drama by taking her face in her hands.
Quickly, the class ended as we prepared to leave... "
