I slowly climb onto the stage and approach the profession stone. Looking around, I see that the teachers are eager to be done. Some are looking elsewhere, and others are fidgeting in place. But not the director; he looks me straight in the eyes and waits while petting his little crow. Caught off guard by his actions, I quickly compose myself and place both palms on the stone. After a few moments, no light appears. The director raises an eyebrow and mutters something, and finally the stone reacts. But unlike what I expect, the stone begins to absorb light like a small black hole and turns completely gray.
At the same time that the stone turns gray, I feel my body absorb what must be energy at a crazy pace. The energy is warm and calming. I feel like I'm taking a hot bath. I snap out of my reverie when I hear the director ask me which profession I choose. I gather myself and examine my one and only choice: Acquisition Merchant (ordinary). Seeing this, sadness overwhelms me; I expected to awaken at least a rare profession…
Void Merchant, Merchant, Void Merchant... I repeat to myself slowly, a little disappointed with my profession. I would have accepted any combat profession, regardless of grade. At least the name sounds good…
Still dejected, I announce my choice to the director and return to my seat. I can hear the teachers whispering unpleasant comments, about me being a Marchant, among themselves... Already disappointed with my profession, their remarks leave me feeling a little off-kilter.

After joining my friends, I tell them about my status window, since I'm curious to hear their opinion.

Void acquisition (Talent):

"Void acquisition, from the void? Ugh, the description couldn't be more vague. At least, I know my active skill is used to list items for sale," I complained to Mike and Zephyr.
"Yeah, but at least all your stats are at 10, it's pretty balanced," Mike tried to console me, knowing my profession wasn't very good.
"Don't worry, we'll see better when we gain more experience. In the meantime, Mike and I will protect you," Zephyr laughed, happy to be the hero for once. Still laughing, she adds that they can always have the use of a Marchant.
Their words lifted my spirits a bit. I'll have to wait before I can make a judgment about my profession; after all, you never know. Maybe I'll still be able to be useful during dungeon explorations like Zephyr said.
After everyone had gone through the examination, the director told us to take our schedules and come back tomorrow morning to start classes. All questions about our professions and skills will be answered by our teachers the next day.
