After a few days of preparation, the TBM Avenger and PBY Catalina were ready for Operation Return to Sender. The two warbirds lifted into the sky, armed with ODTA's best weapons and ammo. The Avenger was piloted by the Ghost and the Catalina was manned by the Busch Hunter and the Spec Shadows. They were headed to the National Guard base, since the guard had sold their missiles off to the raiders, they had a fighting chance to launch a preemptive surprise attack.
As they neared the base an F14 intercepted the Catalina unaware of the Avenger lurking behind it.
"This is restricted airspace, turn around or be shot down."
"The is Ottawa Air Unit Alpha, Go Fuck Yourself."
The F14 flipped around only to be caught off guard by the Avenger's twin wing mounted 50 caliber machine guns. Its pilot was ripped into pieces as he had no idea the Avenger was there.
Now deep into National Guard airspace, the PBY dropped its radar jamming screen as the base came into view. They only had one F14 left, and plenty of AA guns that were unarmed. Sirens blared as the Avenger dove on the stationary F14, dropping a homemade 500-lb bomb the F14 erupted into scrap and flames.
"We have air superiority, take this place off the map."
The Song "The Struggle by Blacklite District" plays over the speakers in the PBY as they dropped homemade bombs all over the National Guard Base. The ODTA Airforce struck a decisive blow against their former capturers. The two planes take turns mowing down guardsmen, as they attempt to escape. Only three guardsmen were left, their Commanding Officer and two privates. The Ghost buzzed past them, making eye contact with the Commander, then rejoined the PBY and finished leveling the Guard base then headed back to ODTA.
The city cheered as the planes landed, and the ground crews gathered the footage from the onboard camera.
Inside the old Roxy Theater, 9mm reels played the battle back, the city cheered and hollered as they watched the warbirds annihilate the Guard Base. Outside, the Ghost and the Spec Shadows uncover the secret project they'd been working at. They lower the American Flag and raise the Ottawa Flag. It was a blatant act of defiance that ODTA wouldn't be pushed around. They were now a threat, and a big one at that, they had an army and an air force. As the citizens of ODTA walked out of the Roxy they cheered as they saw their flag waving for the first time since the war began.
They had their city back, everyone willing to die defending it.
