As news of the Guard Base's destruction spread, the popularity of ODTA grew. Displaced survivors began flocking to the emerging faction's city of operation. Commerce grew and trading was established with neighboring villages that surround the new powerhouse city. Factions of Southern Illinois began to take notice of the rising city.
"Boss, did you hear the news?"
"Yes, Ottawa, now ODTA, has become quite the powerful adversary, taking out a fully man National Guard Base isn't an easy feat. They would need an army, no, a full militia to even stand a fraction of a chance against those many armed personnel."
"What are your orders Boss?"
"Send a diplomatic envoy to ODTA, we don't want to piss them off. make sure we make it clear S.Field has no intention of interfering in their affairs. We just want an alliance."
"Yes Boss."
As S.Field sent their diplomats to ODTA, many began to notice Illinois was not the only state in the middle of factions rising and falling. Texas was a notable state, as they had a full-scale military and had already began expanding outward. Invading their neighbors and had already claimed most of the southern states, except Florida. However, they had their eyes set on conquering the Midwest, after all, what good is an empire without a stable food supply. Texas wasn't the only state with that idea on their mind. The Colonial States also began to eye the Midwest, was well as the Western States. All eyes were pointed at the Midwest and with spies bringing in information of a small city in Illinois leveling a fully armed national guard base, each empire wanted to claim the Midwest as theirs even more.
The Texan Empire began send fully armed B-17's to their territory surrounding the Midwestern Region. This prompted the other regions to do the same. ODTA began receiving transmissions from Florida warning them of the impending invasion. The new was passed along to all of ODTA's allies, knowing this would mean the end of their civilizations as they knew them.
The Ghost sent emergency summons to each of their allies hoping to gain an understanding of what exactly Texas us up to. The Floridians who'd warned them flew up and were to participate in the largest joint alliance meeting ODTA had ever seen.
The small city was busy getting their ambassador rooms ready and defenses in place should anyone feel bold enough to attack the small city. Eventually the diplomats and Floridians arrived, it was time to discuss the future of Illinois and how'd they'd tackle the midwestern problem.
