The beast roared at the away team unknowing of the PBY getting ready to takeoff. The Ghost hopped into action ready to scare off the creature believing it was a Skattlkin that had mutated somehow during the second wave of the nuclear fire. The Busch Hunter fired off a couple of rounds at the beast which drew it closer to the rest of the away team. One Shadow member stabbed it only to be tossed at the PBY. The Ghost dragged him inside the old aircraft, then started the engines. The Beast roared at the sound and began charging at the old plane as it sped down the runway. The Busch Hunter and the other Shadows hopped in vehicles; The Busch Hunter had three tankers of AV Fuel hitched to his Ram pickup truck, dropping the truck in drive, he began to follow the other shadows.
Meanwhile the Ghost and the injured shadow flew low to the ground keeping the beast focused on the plane rather than the convoy headed to Ottawa.
"YO! GET ON THE BROWING BACK THERE! SEE IF WE CAN PUT A DENT IN IT!"
The injured shadow jumped on the gun and opened fire as they circled back headed into the city airspace. The creature seeing bullets hit the ground and strike it in the shoulder jumped onto a building and began climbing. It dug into the side of the building as it climbed and chased the plane up on the rooftops. The shadow gasped as it lunged across a wide gap gaining speed attempting to catch the PBY.
The convoy was already roaring down the highway huddled around the Busch Hunter and the AV tankers. They had already left city limits and had plenty of a gap between them and the PBY. The Hunter hopped on the radio and contacted the Ghost.
"The hell is that thing?"
"I don't know but whatever it is, it's chasing the plane, bullets only slow it down and piss it off."
"That could be trouble. Want me to alert ODTA?"
"Not yet let's see if we can shake it."
"10-4 good buddy, safe flying."
The PBY leads the beast toward the Illinois River, hopping it would be slowed by the water. As the plane crosses the river the beast lunges headfirst into the water and shrieks, the water began melting its skin. the beast pounded and shrieked as chunks of its skin fell off allowing the PBY and convoy to escape the area.
After an hour of flying the PBY lands in ODTA greeted by the counsel and the convoy. They talk about the new beast of Aurora that could potentially become a problem, but new problems were stacking up. The National Guard had become active, and patrols had begun to head their direction. ODTA was due a little pay back, something they wanted since the guard had sold them to the highest bidder. For the beast of Aurora to the National Guard, ODTA had problems stacking up, none of them little.
