Chapter 12 - The Fine Print

As the snowstorms died down, the National guard began digging out their helicopter, while the citizens of ODTA began to unbury their city.

The clean up was massive, the amount of snow was frightening, there were mounds taller than houses as the people pushed the more and more out of their way. Roads and buildings became visible again, the river's ice dam had finally broken loose allowing the water wheel substation to power the city at full capacity again.

The Ghost and a small team began making repairs to the power grid system as the snow was cleared. The massive amounts of snow had destroyed many powerline and damaged the power substation. The water wheel generator was cracked and mangled, the copper wires had begun to erode.

As the town came back to life, things started to look up, that was until more National Guard soldiers started entering ODTA. The warriors did not trust the guard, nor did the guard trust the warriors. Tensions began to rise as the city became fully unburied. The National Guard Soldiers began patrolling the streets, replacing the warriors and city guard implemented by The Ghost. They began to slowly chip away jobs from the ODTA people.

The Ghost tried his best to keep the peace between them but that became a chore as more soldiers began entering ODTA sending the warriors into a panic, the Ghost calmed them down stating they were there to help.

Even with the tensions high, peace was seemingly around the corner. More and more soldiers began showing up, amassing a small army inside of ODTA's borders, running the checkpoints, guarding the power substation and the water-wheel generator. The Chief begged the soldiers to let his warriors out to hunt, and defend the city, but they were heavily stunted. No more than a single hunting party, no warriors in soldier positions, no one outside past a certain time. It seemed that this Marshall law was the price to pay for contacting the soldiers.

The Preppers of Seneca tried to reason with them but had no luck, the National Guard General had other plans.

"Sir, how long are we going to keep things like this? The savages freak me out."

"Relax Sergeant, give it three days. I've marked The Ghost, The Tigress, The Chieftain, and their best warriors for transport to General Culvate. The rest will be heading to the land of milk and honey."

"Sir, that's a relief to hear. They have nothing to stop us. Smart play sir, I'll have my men ready for Operation Tag and Bag."

"Good Sergeant, 0000 is the big moment. Make sure they can't fight back."

For a while, things seemed like they were looking up, peace might have actually turned the corner....at first. As midnight fell the soldier threw gas into the buildings and houses, The Ghost and The Tigress were both taken first, then the warriors, and finally the civilians.

The Blackhawk helicopters took off taking The Ghost, The Tigress, The Chieftain, and the Best Warriors to an undisclosed lab. The rest were trucked off to a facility, unknowing of what was to come for them...
