Chapter 13 - Chapter Three: A Strange New Place

The Ghost and Lioness were taking into a shower, and hosed down. The water pressure hurt as it blasted their naked bodies. Blood and radioactive material was stripped from them, as screams and yells echoed into the night. The same fate befell the group taken by the Blackhawk, all fire-hosed clean, then all taken to be dressed. The Ghost was given back his glasses, necklace and the WWII Coverall that had all been cleaned. The old coveralls had been given new life, each seem was repaired and the pins with the patches had been cleaned expertly. They were all quarantined separated by steel doors with a single glass window, facing the others.

The Ghost waited and waited for someone to open his door, he watched the Chieftain and Alexander get taken from their rooms, just leaving him and The Lioness. Then people came and took the Lioness, The Ghost pounded on his door as they took her, begging them to open his door.

A well armored man came in and tasered him, he took the first hit but dropped upon receiving the second. The man tossed him on the bed, the sealed the door behind him. He knew he was a prisoner, but who?

Two days passed with no signs of anyone coming to open his door. Then the door open, that same man was back but he wasn't alone. He was accompanied by others who took him out of them room lead him down a series of hallways, down an elevator, and to a wooden door. Upon opening it, there was a crowd of people, those he knew and those he didn't. He walked in slowly as the crowd of people stayed silent.

"The Ghost Of Ottawa has rejoined civilized society!"

"Who are you and where am I?"

"My name is President Harold, and this is Remnant America. We're glad to have you!"

"Remnant America? How is that possible?"

"Your questions will be answered soon. For now, grab a plate, you must be hungry."

He smiled and went to his table, The Ghost grabbed a plate and began to get some food. The food smelled good, and looked good too. As he sat, he was joined by the few taken from ODTA as others began to eat.

"The food here is good, but it appears we can not leave."

"We'll have to figure things out. For now we must find our people."

"I haven't seen anyone else other than those here at the table."

"Hmm, seems I'll have to ask the President."

Breakfast continued without a hitch, and the food was to die for. Real eggs, bacon, and homemade pancakes, fruit grown in the garden, and so much more. The ODTA survivors were amazed that there were so many survivors from Old America.

They ranged from children to elderly folks. Everyone here had history, some were survivors of the bombs, others were governors, some were government officials from Washington DC. President Harold was among the most important. The Ghost watched him, studied him, something was off, something these people were keeping from the Ghost and his team....
