Chapter 8 - HARRY

"SOMETIMES, NOT KNOWING ABOUT SOMETHING MIGHT BE THE BEST OPTION.

NOT ALL INFORMATION ARE HEALTHY."

~AMAZING DESTINY

Cynthia shook continuously, she wasn't scared but something kept stimulating so much fear inside of her that it seemed as though she wasn't in control of herself. Her body kept moving without her consent and it was getting her worried.

She could feel something creeping inside of her and turning her heart cold, her personality always made her feel warm inside even in her worst times but for the first time in a long while she felt extremely cold.

She tried illuminating herself with her lunar flames but it was extinguished as it was released.

Cynthia was shocked down to her wits, she was now sure something serious was wrong with her. She tried with difficulty to look around the room, it took her about five minutes to take a look around the room. Just as she was about to give in and just wait for the worst, she noticed the large mirror hanging just in front of her was glowing slightly.

She stared hard at the mirror, she had never known it to do that. She closed her eyes trying to figure out if the glowing mirror had any relationship with her current predicament but as she did, she found herself in a large body of glass - like water and she immediately began sinking. As she fell deeper, she felt the same cold sensation that had crept into her earlier but this time it was more intense.

By the time she was getting to the end of the water, she found several swords, so much that it felt like they couldn't be counted. There were different shapes and sizes and Cynthia began wondering how that much swords got beneath a sea, there was no way someone intentionally planted swords here.

Cynthia was beginning to feel very insecure, nothing was making sense to her anymore. She was beginning to feel like something was wrong with her.

Whilst still thinking of how abnormal she had been lately, she realized she was was deep under water but she hadn't found a single aquatic organism in the water, not even a water lilly. She was alarmed at her own realization, she was feeling very stupid.

' Are there no fishes in this water?' a very confused Cynthia asked herself. 'water, yes water. How I am breathing normally under this water?" The questions were becoming too much but there were no answers.

" Have you forgotten so soon that you're now a protector?" a deep voice asked. The voice seemed to have a certain authority over the swords and the water, they all shook at his voice, giving the speaker a dignified and scary appearance even without seeing him. Cynthia was freezing, the sound of the man decreased the already cold temperature of the water by at least three times. She knew she wouldn't last long like this and it pained her.

Sometimes, not knowing something might be the best option. Not all information are healthy.

Knowing that she was facing death made the death seem closer and hope was nowhere near her when she didn't even know where she was.

Cynthia didn't try to decipher the speaker, she was already near death so nothing mattered to her anymore. If the speaker was going to kill her, he was only doing her a favour by ending her misery. The only regret she had was that she couldn't meet her brother before she died, he had being her only family for a long time. He had carried her all through their rough times and protected her like a hen would her chicks, he had endangered himself for her on several occasions.

She felt like an ingrate for leaving him just like that, not making him see her achieve goals and be proud of what he had done. At this point, she realized the saying that one's live flashes through his eyes at the point of his death was true.

Memories of her past flashed through her mind, forcing hot tears out of her eyes. The tears were perfectly disguised though since she was in water but she could feel the burn, and the pain wasn't leaving soon.

In a flash, she was out of the water and in a room. The room was grandly furnished, everything was standard or probably even above standard. Most Kings couldn't afford such a home, it smelt money and power.

There was something strange about the room though, there were swords hanging about the room. Just like the water, there were varieties.

The cold sensation suddenly went down almost complete, Cynthia felt alive once again. She didn't enjoy the feeling for long before rage took her over, she knew someone was messing with her but she didn't know who. She was glowing already and was ready to read down anyone who would show up in the room.

" Unfortunately I'm not showing up" the same voice spoke. There was a bit of mockery in his tone this time.

Cynthia was pissed already " what kind of a coward toys with a lady and isn't man enough to take her head on" she screamed.

The voice chuckled slightly and said " you were supposed to be smarter than this.." there was obvious sarcasm in his voice, it seemed like he was intentionally trying to get her angry. " the real question should be, how did I know what you were thinking", one could predict he smirked after that last statement.

Cynthia paused for a moment, he just turned her into a fool, a feeling she hadn't felt almost her whole life. She always had an answer to every question and could easily sniff out little details.

She felt particularly pained because he stylishly said she wasn't smart and nothing pained her like insulting or underestimating her intellectual abilities.

But then she had to think rationally, she had read that reading minds had to do with power levels, if she was a protector and he could read her mind then what was he?

" Now you're asking good questions, I'm not reading your mind". Cynthia was confused

" Then how are you replying to my thoughts?" What he was saying wasn't making so much sense to her, she chuckled when she realized he probably heard that too.

" I'm inside of you..." he paused, probably waiting for what he had just said to sink in. He was most likely enjoying Cynthia's facial expression as he spoke, she was totally baffled and she wasn't hiding it.

" I got in through your mirror and I must say, you're pretty clean hearted for a god." he remarked carelessly.

Cynthia didn't know whether to get angry that he invaded her privacy or just concede, if he was already in, there was nothing she could do about it. " before it ask the obviously more important question, I need you to clear your last statement..." he didn't let her finish before answering her. He knew he was pissing her off and he was enjoying it, Cynthia noticed it and she wasn't going to give him what he wanted. She was going to play the cool game.

" I believe what I said was self explanatory, gods are evil creatures and so finding one as clean hearted as you are is a rare occurrence" he replied confidently, traced if hate clear in his voice.

Cynthia wasn't getting it, it was a general notion that goes were the cleanest beings in existence. So on what grounds was this guy speaking? " Who are you? What group do you belong to?" She asked inquiringly.

" My name's Harry and I'm a sword god, that's the much I can tell you".

" Sword god huh?" Cynthia repeated expecting further explanation but he didn't reply, he already said that was the much he could say for now so there was no need wasting time. She moved straight to the next question, " I thought you said gods are evil? But you're a god" she looked at him with squinted eyes full of disgust, he had done nothing but insult her since he brought her here.

" Correction, I'm a sword god. We're a special breed of gods who never kept mute on the bad doings of the gods and undercover criminalities, but then we were banished. That brings us to the real reason why I possessed you." he paused a while.

For the short period Cynthia had stayed her, she could already tell Harry wasn't one to talk for long periods. He didn't like repeating himself so he paused at regular intervals to let his words sink.

" Go on" she said simply, she was tired out already. The thought of being possessed was a heavy one to carry.

" Many years ago, the sword gods were the most powerful creatures in the universe. They dictated the proceedings of events and took over whatever the felt they needed, beat up or killed whoever they felt was not worthy of life. They had a theory of eliminating the weak and leaving the powerful ones who were worthy of life, it was their way of maintaining balance and just so you know, I support that notion.

The protectors then banished the sword gods and concealed some of them into swords, they also turned offenders from other clans into sword gods and banished them into swords as a form of punishment.

My ancestors were the original sword gods and when they realized, they framed my family up and banished my parents into swords. They took out my soul and banished it into a sword and left my body in a section of a certain mountain range, I possessed you to get back into my body and have my revenge". Maniacal laughter rented the room.as he finished and his cold aura leaked out, scaring Cynthia before returning.

Cynthia was dazed, she couldn't speak for at least five minutes. " Why did it have to be me?" she asked. Normally one would feel blessed to be picked for a mission out of a lot but she was feeling cursed, she knew people would get hurt during and after the process and she didn't want to be a part of it.

" I chose you because you are the one" was Harry's simple answer.
