Chapter 52 - Chapter 50: Two powerhouses

"What th--"

"You are fucking dead asshole!!! How dare you touch my lil bro? Huh... How dare you??!!" James jumped on Chris again before he could even gain his footing.

The police present were powerless when it came to matters involving James. James was known for his bad temper and the fact that he was a boxer only made matters worse.

He never speaks with his mouth but rather his fist so it was very hard communicating with someone who only knows how to throw blows.

"Enough James!" General Ahmed's voice boomed in the whole corridor.

"But dad..."

"I said enough!!" His voice shut what so ever James was about to say back into his stomach.

Cough cough cough

"Dad please listen to me. It wasn't my fault please believe me. I would never do this to a child." Chris said with a strained voice as he staggered towards Mr Mitchell.

"Don't!!" Mr Mitchell stopped his advancement. It seems like no one was aware of what truly transpired that night. They all believed Chris was the cause of the accident because first and foremost, it was his car and secondly, he was seen supported by his friend on the CCTV of the bar they attended last night.

So it was only assumed that he drove while drunk. The CCTV around the accident scene couldn't really capture the face of the driver that night. Chris and Andrew were both on the same hairstyles although Andrew's hair was red.

And due to how late it was and the speed of the car, the exact driver couldn't be identified.

"Andrew!! Why aren't you saying anything?!!" Chris turned to the red haired boy who stood behind the police like someone who had no idea of what was going on.

"Don't drag me into this man, you caused this yourself." Andrew said with a shrug of his shoulder.

Chris was left speechless with mouth agape.

"WHAT THE F*UCK????!" He screamed inwardly. "HOW TH-"

'PAAAA'

A resounding slap brought Chris back to reality. "Do you still dare deny that you didn't cause this??" Mr Mitchell roared in anger.

"I always neglected all you have been doing over the years. I acted dumb even when you caused trouble that requires your younger brother to clean up. You even pushed me to the edge that the board of directors were reconsidering my position as president. But I always listen to your mother when she says you just need time to gather yourself. And that you will return to your senses and behave like the heir you were born to be."

"But no. You just couldn't make me smile and brought this kind of disaster over the family. Now I can only stand by and do nothing. I will not have a hand in your insolence anymore." Mr Mitchell poured out his anger stunning all present.

Chris had his head bowed down the whole time and even up till now, didn't utter a word. He was still thinking of all what his father just said and couldn't help but tremble.

He began to think back to how he and his father were in the past before they moved from country S. Even though their relationship wasn't the best, it was still a harmonious one compared to how they were now.

It was really heartbreaking thinking of all he had put his family through over the years. Where did things go wrong?? When did he become like this??

"Enough with all this family drama. Let's get straight to the point shall we." The man of the hour said from the far end of the corridor.

Adam Benjones. The heir to the Benjones empire and the first son of general Ahmed. He was a well built man with stunning features. He stood like a god at the end of the corridor and the sun behind his back only made him more dashing.

He took heavy but steady steps towards all who were present as he stood gracefully before general Ahmed. "Father..." He greeted him before returning his attention to the Mitchell's.

That sharp gaze that would send chills down the spine of an innocent man and would force him to plead guilty in the law court was the gaze Adam looked at Chris with.

Silas was his son whom he and his beloved wife had after five years of being childless and he loved his child more than any monetary item.

Of course his wife will always remain number one in his heart but his son is only second to her and serves as his boundary as well.

He slowly approached Chris with his child and emotionless face. He sized him up and down and when he was only an inch away from his face, he let out a disappointed sigh.

Chris felt goosebumps all over his skin as he looked up at the towering figure before him. He felt somewhat afraid looking at that gorgeous but deadly face before him that he felt the need to run far away from him.

"Your suffering will begin now Chris. I'll will cripple you first before your vacation starts." Adam said with a terrifying voice that caused Chris to flinch back.

" Long time no see Adams." Max's deep voice came from the corridor. Once again, they all turned around to see another godly figure backing the sun. He strode with graceful steps towards their midst but the only difference was his captivating smile.

Max strode towards Adams who has created space between him and Chris. Max walked in front of Adams after casting a side glance at Chris.

Now two heavily built men were standing face to face and the atmosphere became several times heavier.

"So general Max decided to show up." Adams said with a chuckle. Mr Mitchell and even general Ahmed himself were shocked at this revelation.

"I prefer being called by my name Adam." Max said with a smile.

Mr Mitchell who was in the background could not control the happiness he had on his face. His son has done it again. He has once again proved that the Mitchell's will always be number one.

He couldn't believe that in just three years since he last saw this son of his, he has grown from a lieutenant to the youngest general in the country.

This was truly a news that calls for celebration. But one can only sigh in distress at how unlucky he is to have such a disaster of a son. He should be celebrating by now but Chris just made this joyous news give him a sickening feeling.
