"I think you should go back Chris. It's best if you never look for me again." Andrew said as he turned his back at Chris.
"Is this what you want huh... After you framed me for something I didn't do. After you threw away our 8 years of friendship like it was nothing. And now you want me to behave like nothing ever happened huh... you want me to leave here like we were never brothers huh!!!" Chris screamed out in anger.
"Alright then. I will sit back and watch how your already miserable life turns disastrous." Chris spat out in anger before he stomped out of the bar.
"F*ck!! F*UCK!! F*CK!! F*CK!!" Chris screamed out as he kicked the tires of a car by the side of the road.
Chris continued to thrash the poor car until some men came out and beat him up. He laid by the road side in a miserable state just staring at the sky. He was like that for a very long time until a car pulled up beside him.
'Puhn puhn'
"Get in Chris." Max's voice came from the driver's seat of the car honking at Chris.
Chris reluctantly stood up as he dragged his body towards the car. He opened the door of the passengers seat before he slumped onto the seat and jamed the door.
Max immediately sped off and throughout the whole journey, no one said a word.
About 20 minutes later, Max pulled up in the garage at a villa at the far end of the city. They both got out and entered the villa after changing into home slippers.
Chris went to the beautifully decorated living room and laid on the couch before closing his eyes. He wasn't in any way interested in the decorations of the villa and was lost in his own world.
Max joined him on the couch later with a medical kit and lifted Chris up before attending to his wounds.
Suddenly, Chris grabbed Max's hand which was about to dab the cotton wool in the disinfectant and Max could only look at him with a blank expressionlesd face.
But what looked at him back was the face of his only blood brother shedding silent tears with complicated emotions on his face.
"I'm s-sorry Max." he finally said. Max quickly hugged him tight like he would disappear any moment as he also became emotional.
"It's okay Brother. It's okay..." Max patted Chris very gently as he blinked the tears threatening to fall down.
"Over the years... I've been a jerk. I've been following the wrong people and called bloody backstabbers my family. I created problem after problem for the people who care about me and I couldn't realize how stupid I am. I'm so sorry for all I've put you through Max." Chris stammered in tears.
Such a grown man crying like this was definetly a sight to see but Max didn't mind as he offered all he could for his brother.
How long has it been since they last hugged like this?? When was the last time his brother opened up like this to him?? It was eight years ago.. Before everything happened. It was that time he and his brother's unbreakable relationship was at its peak. They had a very understanding bond that even without words, the other already knows what to do.
They were each other's confidant and even their parents weren't strong enough to separate them. But over the years, their relationship crumbled right before their eyes and they continued moving farther away from each other. One has wild ambitions to provide the best possible life for their family while the other just slacks off leaving the whole burden on the other.
Chris felt miserable thinking of everything he has put his brother through. How Max will have to manage his military life with their family business and still have time to clean up his mess. Chris was really regretful right now.
"It's okay Chris. I'm glad you are back. I'm glad my best friend is back." Max said with happiness as a single tear drop rolled down his cheek.
He has endured all the burden for so long but just this hug was enough to take away every heaviness from his heart. He was really grateful things will be different from now.
They both regained their bearing of noble men and were back to their usual selves after all the apologies and regret. Max then finished up with Chris injury before he led him to the kitchen. It was then that Chris realized just how magnificent the house was.
The house wasn't even up to a third of their home back in country S but it was lavishly decorated. From the ceiling down to the floor and then the furnitures... man this place is awesome. Chris thought in awe.
"Give me ten minutes let me make us something to eat. You can show yourself around if you want." Max told Chris as he took out some veges from the fridge and placed them under the tap to rinse. He was back to the old cheerful Max and Chris was happy to see him like that.
"I think I'm okay here. C'mon let get cooking." Chris said with a smile as he rolled up. his sleeve and joined Max by the washbasin.

"Monica... Monica... wake up. It's late already, time to have dinner." Bella woke Monica up with a tired expression on her face.
Since they arrived at country M, Bella has been moving from place to place trying to satisfy the needs of those who needed her. Then she went out with Jenis to help with the investigation as she herself was a good investigator in training.
Monica sluggishly opened her eyes and when she saw how dark it had become, she heaved a long sigh. 'It was only a nightmare.' She said to herself inwardly.
For about two years now, she has been having blurry nightmares where she felt like she was living for someone. From the time the 'someone' wakes up to when they go to bed, different scenes keep playing in her head but the strangest thing is that she couldn't make out anyone's face as they were all blurry in her dream.
And the nightmares only became confusing after meeting Clara this afternoon. She began to see her in her dreams but still, she was blurry. What was happening??
