Chapter 4 - 4. Everything Was Broken

Natasha was sitting in front of the Emergency Room, still wearing the wedding dress she had been wearing since this morning. Her face looked gloomy. It was completely different from the happy expression she showed this morning.

"Tasha, you must eat first. Otherwise, you will pass out." Ellen, her best friend, didn't stop persuading her, who had been unwilling to move in front of the door.

Natasha didn't budge one bit. She barely even had the spirit to just stare at Ellen. Ellen sighed and then hugged Natasha.

"Everything will be fine. Phillips will be fine," said Ellen.

Natasha didn't speak, but she only shed tears. This afternoon a stranger called Natasha using a Phillips  phone. The person said Phillips had an accident and was taken to a hospital in Surgoch.

The emergency room door opened. A middle-aged doctor wearing glasses came out. Sitting on the floor, Natasha immediately stood up to ask about her fiancé's condition.

"Doctor, how is my fiancé?" Natasha couldn't wait any longer. She was distraught. All she wanted to know right now was Phillips' safety.

"We're sorry. We've tried our best. The accident caused the patient's head to be very hard on the pavement. There was a big crack in his head, so blood entered and filled the vital organs in the head. We've tried our best. But it seems the patient can't be saved," said the doctor. He bent his face as a sign of concern for Phillips.

Natasha could not immediately digest what the doctor said about Philips. She couldn't believe that Phillips, who had been with her all this time, had now died, leaving her.

Ellen hugged Natasha. She cried with all her might after listening to the doctor's statement.

"Phillips! Phillips!" Ellen whined hysterically.

Meanwhile, Natasha let go of Ellen's arms and rushed into the emergency room. There were no other patients besides Phillips at the time. She could see Phillips' body covered with a white cloth. There was blood soaking the mattress where Phillips' body lay.

"How could you, Phillips? Why are you doing this to me? Why?" Natasha cries. She even had to prostrate in front of the bed because she could not see the condition of Phillips' body.

Ellen immediately approached Natasha. She hugged Natasha so she wouldn't be hysterical, but she couldn't control herself anymore. Natasha slumped and felt excruciating pain in her heart. The marriage failed. What's worse is she lost Phillips for good.

Natasha is wearing all black. She sat alone contemplating in front of Natasha's coffin. Some of the mourners had already left. She was just with Ellen and Phillips' brother. Peter Sylvester was only eighteen years old. Peter lives in the town of Surgoch in an orphanage. Philips is also from there. Phillips and his younger brother were parents less since childhood. It is not clear where their parents are. They have been in the orphanage since childhood.

The girl was silent. Her tears had also dried up because she had been at the funeral home for three days. Even though Phillips came from an orphanage. But Phillips has a lot of friends. He is a perfect employee. Some of the customers at his workplace are also quite close to Phillips.

"Would you like to rest first, Natasha?" asked Ellen. She could not bear her loyal friend for several days at the funeral home.

But Natasha said nothing. She remained sitting with a blank stare. Until a man came. The man in the suit is elegant. Looking at his appearance, it seemed that he was a rich man.

Natasha would not stand up. Her body couldn't take it anymore. She and Ellen just sat in front of Philips' coffin, expressionless. Natasha paid little attention to who the man was. She didn't have the strength for that.

The man was standing in front of Phillips' coffin. He placed a wreath on top of the casket in honor of Philips.

Three months later….

In the VVIP room of a hospital, Christian sits staring at the hospital window. The man is wearing patient clothes. His face was pale. But it doesn't seem like it's because of pain seeing his body now getting fuller.

"My son!" Linda's voice sounded so happy when she entered her son's room. She smiled and hugged her son lovingly.

Christian smiles happily when he sees the smile on his mother's face. He has been in the hospital for three months. And Christian is very, very bored.

"Mom, when am I coming home? I miss Miki," Christian said. Miki is the name of his favorite golden retriever dog.

A few moments later, Jonas Peterson, the assistant, came in with some food he had bought in the cafeteria on the bottom floor of the hospital. Linda was wide-eyed because Jonas had brought so much food.

"Jonas Peterson, why are you eating so much?" shrieked Linda. "You have to go on a diet. You can't be fat, or women won't want to date you!"

Jonas smirked. The young man did not talk or express too much. But Jonas was very obedient to this family. "These are all Christians, Mrs. Gibson," Jonas said.

"Christian?" Linda immediately looked at her son. She squinted and tugged at the handsome young man's ear. But of course, without pressure. Her son is a patient. She couldn't possibly hurt a patient. "How dare you eat food outside without my permission?"

Christian glares at Jonas, who quickly tells his mother. Even though he had warned Jonas to hide if his mother was in this room.

"Mom, I'm tired of hospital food. The doctor didn't stop me from eating anyway. I just want to eat pizza, Mom!" Christian reasoned. He didn't even hesitate to seduce Linda to make her mother melt.

"Oh, my God. You stubborn! If it weren't for your successful operation, I would never have let you eat such food!" said Linda.

Jonas smiled. He was happy to see Linda finally able to smile happily. He is so grateful to this family that whatever is sad in this family is also his grief. And whatever becomes a joy in this house, Jonas will also be happy.

"Mom, I've recovered. The heart transplant operation has been done. I will live for a thousand years. You don't have to worry," Christian says happily.

"Ah, who's going to live that long? You're not a vampire!" said Linda, patting her son on the shoulder.
