Chapter 9 - Ep 9 Orders are Orders

The elevator opened up into a reception room for the office. The room had two desks that sat empty and a large double wooden door leading into the office itself. Tristan walked with Stella over to the door and opened them up into the office.

The office was large, taking up most of the top floor. It had a smoking and alcohol corner on the right side of the room. On the left side of the room had many bookshelves and a couple of sofas to sit on. The center of the room was taken up by a large wooden desk.

"Welcome to my office, take a seat." Tristan said as he walked into the room. The guards did not enter the office and only closed the doors after they walked inside.

"I will stand." Stella said as Tristan led her over to one of the sofas.

"I said take a seat." Tristan said and he pushed Stella so she fell onto the sofa.

"What is wrong with you?" Stella said as she moved so she could see Tristan again.

"I thought I told you to be a good girl and everything will be fine." Tristan said as he walked over to a shelf full of alcohol.

"So I am to just do everything you say?" Stella asked as she fixed the trench coat.

"Yes you should. If you know what is good for you. And you should just take off the coat, it looks horrible." Tristan said as he made himself a drink.

"Fine." Stella said, as she took off the trench coat and laid it onto her lap.

"Good. Finally listening like a good girl." Tristan said as he sat down next to Stella.

"Well what options do I have? If I try to leave, your guards will stop me. If I try to call for help you will just take my phone. Seems I am left with no other options." Stella said as she folded her arms.

"At least you know what position you are in. So just relax, it will be more enjoyable if you relax." Tristan said as he pushed Stella down onto the sofa, using his weight to keep her pinned down.

Samael had made good time to the building, he knew how to move in the city unseen. Samael had watched as the dot on his map had gone up in elevation. He approached the building walking straight to the front door. After walking in the front door several of the guards started to panic after seeing the pistol.

Samael walked right up to the receptionist. To the receptionist's credit she did not run away. But she was also not doing well and looked like she could pass out at any second. She only watched as Samael had gotten closer.

"I am here to pick up Stella Godwin." Samael said keeping a calm tone with the receptionist.

"Do you know how she is here with?" The receptionist asked as she calmed down.

"She should be here with your CEO." Samael said as he looked around the lobby. When he looked around he saw several guards getting into position. He counted at least ten, three to his right, four to his left, and three behind him.

"I am sorry. But I am not able to contact the CEO." The receptionist said as she started to shake.

"That is ok. He will know that I am here." Samael said. After he finished speaking he rolled over the desk and grabbed the receptionist, bringing her onto the ground as several bullets flew over the desk. The receptionist had started to scream, due to the surprises and sound of the guns firing.

"Calm down please. I am not going to hurt you, I did not want you to get hit when they started to fire." Samael said as he got off the receptionist and pulled the pistol out of the holster.

"I am sorry you just scared me." The receptionist said as she composed herself.

"It is ok ,stay down and cover your ears." Samael said, as he peeked over the desk and fired his pistol three times. The sound was much louder when Samael fired his pistol. Samaels aim was perfect, hitting the three closest to the desk.

Samael did not waste time and moved around the desk heading the group of four. He closed the distance in a flash slamming his left shoulder into the first man forcing him to drop his gun. With the man disarmed Samael did not show any mercy and shot a round point blank into the man's chest, The round went right through his heart and lung.

Shortly after firing the round into the man he slammed into, he lines up another shot to a man in front of him. Samael fired, sending a round into the other man's head. He remembered the last location of the other two men, They were behind him now.

Samael pushed off so he would fall to the ground, he aimed his landing on the first man he shot. He used his body to roll so he was now facing the other two men. The other guards had barely begun to raise their guns in Samael's direction. But it was in vain, Samael was faster. He shot them both in the chest.

He then looked to the last three men. They had started to run away. With the immediate threat gone Samael stood up, and changed magazines for his pistol. He put the mostly used magazine back into the pouch he took the fresh one out of.

Samael made his way back over to the receptionist, keeping his pistol in his hand. The only sounds left in the lobby now were the men silently groaning as they bled out. They would not survive the next five minutes. He knew exactly what his pistol was capable of.

"It is safe to come out I would say leave the building so that way you wont get hurt." Samael said as he looked around the lobby. The receptionist did not respond but she started to leave the building.

Tristan was interrupted by his guards bursting into the room with their guns out.

"What is going on?" Tristan said as he stood up.

"Sir we had a security breach. Armed assailant. He has already taken out seven of the men in the lobby. I have R.R.U. (Rapid Response unit) inbound right now" The guard said as he closed the door behind them.

"Do you know how many there are or what they want?" Tristan said as he made his way over to his desk.

"Unknown at this time. Only one person was seen entering the building but we can not say if he is alone." The guard said as he locked the doors.

"Looks like your building will need more guards." Stella said as she put the trench coat back on.

"And you are stuck in this situation." Tristan said.

"No you are wrong I am just here. They are most likely here for you, not me." Stella said with a little smile. But her smile did not last long because a loud gun shot was heard from the hallway. Another five rounds could be heard followed by another loud shot. A thud was heard on the door and some blood could be seen leaking into the room from under the door.

It seemed like an eternity before another sound was heard. Three loud bangs on the door, as if someone was knocking on the door. Each bang on the door shook the whole door. Stella had stood up and moved behind the sofa, and the guards had gotten ready pointing their guns at the door.

It was silent for a moment, the tension in the room grew as the seconds ticked by. The silence was shattered as the doors flew open almost like a breaching ram had smashed the center of the door open. The guards began to empty the pistol magazines at the now open doors. Both guards ran out of ammo letting their pistol slide lock back, and they watched as the dust swirled around in the next room.

The two guards started to stand up, trying to get a better look into the dust they had kicked up. Just as they fully stood up two loud gunshots were heard from the other room. The guards each got hit in the chest, sending them back and onto the ground. Blood was splattered onto the now cracked windows.

"Are you alright Stella?" Samael said as he walked out from the other room. His right hand had his pistol in it and pointed at Tristan, His left hand had a dead guard. The dead guard had several rounds in his back. As he walked near the middle of the room he dropped the dead guard.

"Samael?" Stella said as she stood up and looked at him. His left side was covered in blood. He had used the dead guard as a shield when he kicked the door open.

"I am glad to see you are safe." Samael said as he looked over at her.

"Are you ok?" Stella said as she walked over to him.

"I am fine, it looks like you are also unharmed." Samael said as he looked from Stella back to Tristan.

"Well this is just great. Your guard has not only busted into my office but also killed several of my guards. How are you going to compensate me for this?" Tristan said as he stood up.

"Give me the order and I will end him." Samael said as he leveled the pistol at his head.

"You would not dare" Tristan said as sweat started to drip from his forehead.

"Just give the word Stella." Samael said, looking over at Stella. He could see the conflict in her eyes. She did not like this man, he was persistent and disgusted her. But she could not bring herself to give the order.

Samael turned, grabbing Stella by the hips and moving her so she was behind him. He had turned to face the door to the room and pointed his pistol at the elevator. It only took a moment before the door opened and four heavy armored and armed men rushed out of it. They pointed their guns at Samael, their lasers pointed at his chest.

The men did not move after seeing Samael already pointing his gun at them, It was a stalemate. The armed men could shoot but Tristan was behind them and could get hit. Samael was waiting to see if they were going to shoot. He could hear radio chatter from their headsets as the seconds-long stalemate moved in slow motion.

"What are you waiting for? Kill them!" Tristan yelled from behind them. Samael knew the layout of the room and had already formulated a plan. When Tristan finished yelling Samael pushed Stella with enough force to move her out of the way of the round. The second he pushed Stella he squeezed off a round.

One of the armed men took the round right in the chest, the others started to open fire. Unlike the other guards they did not stray round but let off several rounds but the sporadic and fast movement from Samael helped him avoid getting hit. The armed men took up better positions and moved the man that got shot behind the assistest desk.

Samael had made his way closer to the door after rolling out of the way. Stella had landed on the sofa and Tristan was on the ground, a round had hit his shoulder. The radio traffic had intensified Samael could only hear that it was happening, not what they were saying. Before Samael could peek at the door he heard the elevator open and more people walk onto the floor.

"Soldier? I know you can hear me. Let's not do this, just let me know what you want." A man said from the other room.

"I am just trying to leave with Stella." Samael said in response.

"Ok I am going to walk into the room. Let's talk." He said as Samael saw a man walk into the room. Samael put his pistol to the side of the man's head.

"Why do you want to talk about?" Samael said.

"Listen, I just don't want any more of my men to get killed. I was in the war. I saw what you shock troopers can do." The man said as looked forward.

"Then let us walk out of here." Samael said, keeping the pistol at the man's head.

"Ok, if that is all you want. All units stand down." The man said. Samael could hear the other men outside unloading their guns.

"Thank you for the assist Lieutenant. You should see your boss now. Stella lets go." Samael said as he lowered his pistol and holstered it. The Lieutenant walked over to check on Tristan as Stella and Samael walked out into the other room. There were six armed men standing with their hands off of their guns. Two men were attending to the one Samael had shot.

They had taken his armor off and were trying to stabilize him but there was a lot of blood, and the man was as white as a ghost. Samael and Stella walked by them and into the elevator that had been held open by one of the armed men. No words came from the armed men.

"Thank you for helping me." Stella said under her breath as the elevator descended.
