< "What are you doing to my mother? Let her go right now!" > I said and ran towards the men.
One of the men punched me in the stomach, which suddenly made me feel sick.
Probably because I didn't eat anything.
Then two of the Three Men grabbed me and pushed me to the ground.
< "You must be her child then" > said one of the two men holding me.
< "Yes, of course I am! What do you want with my mother? Let her go!" > I replied .
< "Sorry, but we can't. We were sent here to kill her. Tough luck little one, today is not your lucky day" > said one of the two holding me, laughing at me.
When I heard that they were going to kill my mother, I didn't believe it at first. All my life there was peace in this small village, but today everything was different.
I had never experienced anything like this, but only heard about it from Ake when he told me about the stories he read.
At first I thought it was a joke or some kind of fun and said incredulously and laughing < "It can't be. You guys are kidding, right? My mother has always been here with us. She has never done anything bad. I promise you that she has always been here with us.">
The one holding my mother up by the neck looked at me and said quite seriously < "You're right, she's been with you since you were born .... " >, < "Yes, look that's what I meant ..." > I wanted to interrupt him, but the man interrupted me directly and added < "She has a bad past. She went against us, against the government. We can't and won't forgive something like that. Say goodbye to your mother" > the man said to my mother.
I was completely overwhelmed, as I had never been in such a situation before.
I also couldn't free myself to help my mother, even though I've always been stronger than everyone else until now.
< "This boy is very strong. Not even the worst of our enemies, have had so much strength" > said one of the two with me.
I didn't know what else to do now and I couldn't think straight.
Then I looked at my mother.
She smiled and looked into my eyes.
< "I trust you Jun, you will take good care of everyone. I am very proud that you are my son, you helped me a lot" > my mother said to me.
That sounded like she was saying goodbye.
Was she saying goodbye?
No, my mother would not leave us alone.
She was on my side her whole life, she wouldn't just leave me alone now.
Ake told me that in his stories, it's always the heroes who show up at the last second.
That must be it.
But where was the hero I was hoping for.
Then the man standing with my mother said < "We've lost enough time. We have to be back soon to file a report" > and squeezed her tightly by the neck.
I screamed for help and tried to get loose, but it was all to no avail.
Then the man said < "Your mother is an enemy of our state and someday you will understand that. In order for you to learn what happens to people who oppose the government, I will do you a favor.">
The two men who were with me lifted me up on my knees and the man with my mother, held my mother in front of me.
We were almost up against each other, but I couldn't grab her.
I couldn't hug my mother and cry in her arms.
I just wanted to get to my mother, hug her and never let go.
Then the man let go of her for a few seconds.
Just when I was about to say "run away" the man yelled <"Die" > at my mother and wanted to cut her neck, but it didn't work because the sword wasn't sharp enough and it got stuck in her neck.
Then my mother fell on her knees and her half severed head, was almost not hanging on her body anymore.
The man with my mother pulled the sword out of her neck.
Meanwhile, my mother said < "My son, I love you.">
Then, just before her head snapped off on its own, since it was almost off, the man cut off my mother's head with a second swing, which fell right onto my lap.
The two men holding me had let go.
Without thinking anything of it, I held my mother's head before it fell from my lap to the floor.
Her hair was in front of her face.
I pushed her hair to the side while saying with a dry expression < "Mother your hair on your face hides your beauty" >
Then I saw that even after she died and I held her severed head in my hand, she was smiling.
< "You have the most beautiful smile I have ever seen" > I said, with tears running down my face like a waterfall.
Then suddenly my eyes went black and I fell to the floor.
Just before I fainted, I heard the two men holding me ask the man who had killed my mother <"Shall we kill the boy too?" >
My mother's killer replied < "No. He's all bone and muscle anyway. He won't make it far, and if he does, he'll never be a threat to us. Besides, we only got the order to kill the mother and not the child. So leave this one lying here.">
Then I heard their footsteps moving farther and farther away.
